When he took hold of her wrist, she paused and looked up at him, swallowing. “...well. All right. If it’s too much, we can always make Tobias pay for it, yeah? He’s loaded, if I remember correctly. I think one of you told me that, at least. And um. Yeah. I’m good with that. But you should get a nap at least, don’t you think…you’re tired, Zac. Maybe…I could use one too.” She hesitated and moved her hand to lace her fingers with his. “...Thank we could both manage to lay on the couch? I promise I won’t squish you too badly. Maybe.”
Talia gave a small, almost hopeful smile and then took a drink of her milk. “...Then we can tackle the basement and…maybe I’ll talk with Soleiyu at some point too.”

“Yeah, we can fit on the couch.” They’d done it before. Well, he and Cambria had. But it just meant that he knew Talia would fit, too. And, he was tired. He was going to push through it if that’s what she needed. He understood how frustrating it was to be stuck in place and waiting for something to happen. He’d spent so long looking for her and when he found her–
He hadn’t actually been able to shake it. Sometimes it still felt like he was stuck in place and just waiting for the right break.
He wasn’t going to ask Tobias for anything, he didn’t want to be indebted to him for anything. But that was a problem for later. For now, a nap sounded good–and if she wanted one too, all the better. They could wake up refreshed and ready to tackle the basement
“Sounds like a good plan, I think we should stick to it. And I think if you talk to Soleiyu, you might feel better. At least he can give you some answers and put you in the right direction.” Hopefully, he could ease some of her concerns, too. He wondered how much else she was keeping pent up, and what it would take to help her work through it all.
