Myles was tugging on his sleeves as he listened, taking it all in but still seeming like it was just a lot. Jeremy at least had the boldness to assert his thoughts and opinions. Senshi or not, Myles trusted him, and he hadn’t kept anything a secret–well, not really–after Jeremy found him out.
Jeremy was set in his ways, and Sekh’s assertion of his beliefs wasn’t scorned but neither was he so quick to blame Drew.
“Making peace is one thing. Trying to right old wrongs is fine. But I don’t want to see you picking fights with him because he wears the mantle of someone who ******** you over before. Drew’s a good kid. He’s not a murderer, and he’s not corrupted. And he’s never going to be corrupted.” He gave Drew a look, like this was both a warning and a promise.
He might not have been a Senshi but he wasn’t going to let anything happen to him if he could help it.
“Look–just be careful. Both of you. I don’t want you getting into any trouble, Drew. Keep me informed about whatever’s going on, okay? I can’t have your back if you’re not keeping me in the loop. And if it’s Senshi things or whatever, you know Myles can help, too.”

Sekhmet frowned and was going to say more, but Drew gave a small shake of his head. He knew Jeremy well by now. Jeremy wouldn't understand... not at this point - about the only thing that would change his mind would be if Drew was killed, Etamin was reborn as another within Jeremy lifetime, and the two of them met each once more and somehow, Etamin remembered Jeremy from Drew's point of view - and the odds of that were astronomical - not to mention trying it WAS WAY out the question. Sigh. Drew turned to Jeremy. "Agreed. Also, if I know Ausar - " At Sekhmet's frown, he apologized and corrected himself. "I apologize, Sekhmet, for using your personal name outside the family. If I know Sekhmet as well, as I think I do, then I believe he's over his anger. Am I right, Sekhmet?" He turned to Sekhmet. Grim-faced, Sekhmet nodded. He was definitely over the anger - but Drew could still see the pain in his eyes. Somehow, Sekhmet had survived for 1000 years - almost entirely alone on his world with nothing but a Chaos, and the memories of his so-called friend and brother Etamin destroying his family - he had the right to pain and anger. But it seemed he was on the road to making peace. Drew turned back to Jeremy and said in a solemn voice. "This peace-making thing is a Senshi thing." His voice hurt as he said this. "I have to ask you to stay out of it." He took a deep breath. "Jeremy, I know you care for me and protect me, and I appreciate it. But what must be done for the sake of remaking the peace in the end must be done. Sometimes there will be fights, sometimes cries. That's what happens in rebuilding relationships - especially Senshi relationships, when things go wrong. It is a process.... it works given time.. Please understand.."

Jeremy gave him a look that seemed to imply he’d been insulted. There was something brittle, something annoyed. Something that might have been hurt.
Drew was younger than him. Senshi or not, in this life he was young.
He’d known that Myles was a Senshi before he’d met Drew when he was in high school. Before he’d become a police officer.
He knew what it meant to rebuild a relationship.
But, fine. He wasn’t a Senshi. So, not worth being involved in Senshi relationships. Because he didn’t have the luck to be born with an old, powered starseed like the rest of them in this room.
“Yeah. Sure,” he said, and kept it at that. He was tense, but he wasn’t a Senshi. He was just a guy, trying to do his best, looking out for the people he cared for without the help of any special powers. He shrugged, like maybe that would be enough to shake off the tension. If it helped or not, he didn’t show it. Drew and Sekh weren’t fighting now, so maybe that was good enough.
He took a step back and turned, making his way to the kitchen instead. The kitchen and living room were separated by a half wall that served as a counter, and he had to walk past Myles on his way to the fridge. He helped himself to a can of soda and kept his distance, even as Myles looked between Drew and Sekh and his brother. He still seemed a little nervous, but Senshi or not, Myles had perfected the deer in headlights look and just looked worried for all of them. He flashed a quick smile in an effort to assure Sekh and Drew that everything was fine, but he still seemed rooted to his spot.

Drew sighed. Yet another relationship he had to rebuild. Even with all the semi-conscious knowledge he had picked up over the ages, he had never learned the delicate language of relationships. He looked away in shame from Sekhmet and Miles and stepped out the apartment. Closing the door, he put his back against it, slid down into a sitting position and quietly began to weep. Imagine a police officer weeping. Imagine an Eternal Sailor weeping. A beer would be nice now. Where had that thought come from? A past life maybe? He had never touched the stuff in this life. Meanwhile inside, Sekhmet frowned. His heart hurt, and he thought finally understood how to explain to Jeremy. He started slowly, gently and quietly. "Drew didn't mean to, but he just burned, what the rest of the phrase? The bridge to your relationship. You must know he didn't want to. Just as he didn't want to burn all the bridges to all our relationships - though, he did more than burn them. Now he wants to rebuild them as well. He wants to make peace with them and his world. If he does not, he will be reborn again and again and each time his Core Nature (Etamin) will drive him to recover his Memories and become a Senshi - and at some point, the guilt and the anger of friends, he never made up with will drive him a dark path - we've seen it too many times. Besides, Drew just wants to make peace and rebuild his relationships and he can't do that well if the truth of the past is a secret, now can he? And if they know it, they must be allowed to deal with it, anyway they know how? That's the Senshi Way. Only when they come to terms with the past- can any of them - any of us truly be at peace with each other. And sometimes that means anger. But we workout. And I hope you two work it out."

Jeremy paused and lowered the soda he’d just been sipping at. He didn’t have any love for Sekh, he didn’t know him. He wasn’t sure if the guy was serious about not harassing Drew anymore, and a part of him was cranky that he could say that it was fine for Drew to how this much penance to make things right.
“You think that’s a burned bridge?” He scoffed. “No wonder you expect him to repent so much. He wanted me to butt out, I butted out. It’s as simple as that, I was trying to drop the subject. Don’t keep dragging me back in if you don’t want me to be involved. I don’t like being treated like I don’t get something just because I’m not a Senshi. You think I haven’t had my fair share of interactions with them? You think I’m not smart enough to know how complicated these things are? Don’t come in here all high and mighty because of some Senshi legacy. I don’t care whether you’ve got powers or not, I don’t care what the past dictates. Drew’s a good kid. If he wants to fix what he did in a past life, fine. But Drew is a good kid. Whatever you expect him to fix, just remember that he’s not the same person you used to know. Maybe he’s got a part of him, or he’s carrying the Senshi mantle, but he has a whole other life here, and other people and other problems that he has to consider, too.”
He looked at Sekh. “Drew and I have no burned bridges. I’ve had a long day at work and I’m not interested in bullshit or drama. If he doesn’t want me meddling, I’m out. I said my piece. I just don’t want anyone taking advantage of him for a burden he’s forced to carry. Not one he brought on himself.”

Sekhmet was quiet for moment, as he gazed at Jeremy. After a moment, he commented. "You're right, you know." He was silent for moment more. "About Etamin, or rather Drew." He was quiet a moment more. "Etamin - the Etamin I knew- like I said was a pompous jerk. He's different now. Kinder, gentler, fairer." Another moment of silence. "In my day, I don't know if it came from being a former prince or simply the position he held. You see, as Sailor Etamin, he also held many duties, such as advisor to the Pharoah of the World of Etamin - his own biological father I see now (how horrible) - and most prestigious - the Chief Librarian of the Library of Etamin - that's story for another time - but what's important is that the Librarians were the main combat force of Etamin - he only lived till he was 15 - so you can how that might have turned out. "There was Sailor Pasithee," he started wandering off in thought. "She was also somewhat pompous - she was also 15 and High Priestess of her people by merit of being the Sailor Guardian - poor Pasithee - her own sister turned nasty and chaotic and had to be contained. However, as High Priestess, she led the Priests and Priestesses who were also the combat troops of her world. "And of course, there was Sailor Leaena - an interesting story - a World where the Female Gender was dominant - and where Males were in harems. The Women were Warriors, and the Senshi was named Warrior Prime - or basically in Command of all the Warriors. Or would be, if Sailor Leaena wasn't this time reborn the youngest son in of the smallest Micro-House in the World. Of course [i[he wasn't taken seriously on his World, but at least he was allowed to have his brothers and all their Bonds with him as his Senshi Squad. So, he found a place. "And of course, there were all the others. There was me. I came from the home of Peasants. An orphan, my parents killed in the War with Chaos. Because of this my World did not take me seriously - in their eyes the only thing a peasant orphan Senshi was good for was being Senshi - I was never given any help - I was never even taught to read - Etamin insisted that I learn to read - and I was grateful - but was still a pompous jerk about it. "I wasn't given a military or combat troops to lead - and ," here he sighed "the other in the Court never took me seriously because of that. I was just a warrior to them. Just a Warrior to command." He sighed. "Though you are right." Sekhmet said after a moment coming full circle. "He is different this time. I saw it the moment that he told me he was looking for Penace. I saw it in his face. I saw it in his body language and in his eyes. That is why I forgave him. I want to start our relationship anew. I feel it will be a lot better this time." He fell silent and did not speak again.

Jeremy’s brows lifted again, because a fifteen year old was certainly not the most capable of qualified, nor were they emotionally mature enough to handle those responsibilities–no wonder he went mad. He collected this information, and it was obvious that Myles was listening intently as well.
So, Jeremy let it sink in for a moment that a fifteen year old had made a mistake–a critical mistake, but still–and Drew was expected to correct it. That part was fine. He knew about fixing mistakes you hadn’t made. He looked at Myles briefly and wondered if they were thinking the same thing.
Myles looked guilty enough.
Jeremy didn’t think he should have to feel guilt at all.
“It’ll be better,” he confirmed. He took one more sip of his drink and then shrugged. “Let me go get Drew. Sit, eat. You’re not leaving for a while yet. Might as well be comfortable.”
He nodded to Sekh and dragged himself to the door. He opened it and stuck his head outside. “Drew, come back inside. It’s too cold out here. Did you get anything to eat?”

Sekh leaned back on the couch and closed his eyes, a satisfied smile on his face. He had made peace with an old friend and started ''building bridges" with two new possible friends and allies. Later, he would meet up with 3 of the others; not bad for his first day on Earth. When Jeremy opened the door that Drew had been leaning back against, he felt backwards inside - well at least he had time to dry his eyes. He heard what Jeremy said and realized he'd been forgiven. He smiled. "Sure thing, Jeremy."
