“There’s clothes on the other side of the desk. Pajamas, too. They look like mine, just blue instead of green, sorry,” Michael nodded to where Devyn could find those things. “We didn’t get rid of your toothbrush, so that’s still in the bathroom. Anything else you need, just ask me. There’s clean towels if you want to take a shower. Or bath. Either tonight or tomorrow, or whenever.”
It wasn’t that he was necessarily feeling more talkative now, but he definitely felt more relaxed with the orb hanging from his neck again. And even better was that he didn’t have to hide it.
“I think I’ll be able to sleep. Or try to. It’s easier to sleep with this,” he admitted, gesturing to the orb even if he didn’t look Devyn in the eye as he said it. He still felt as though maybe Devyn would change his mind --
No, he wouldn’t. He could tell by the orb’s rhythm that Devyn was content with the decision.
Michael made his way over to the door, and glanced around to make sure he told Devyn everything he needed to know. He knew from last time where to get extra blankets if he was cold, and how to unlock the window in the case of an emergency. Still, Michael didn’t like the idea that he was actually dreaming, and when he woke up, Devyn would have never been there.
“Sleep well, Dev.”
