[Scar]

The snacks he turned down, but the water he accepted gratefully, only barely resisting the urge to pour the cup over himself. His thirst only barely won out. With the wheel patched to the best of his ability, he waited until she held the wheel in place, then motioned to the wagon. "Put the wheel on when I lift." Once he knew she understood, he then carefully gripped the edges of the wagon, lifting. Even empty, the wood was immensely heavy, and his face went flushed with exertion.

[9/10]

Adenah wasted no time in doing her part. The wheel itself was far from light, though not nearly as heavy as the cart, and maneuvering it back on the spoke wasn't as smooth as she thought. Whether it simply wasn't level to begin with or something was lodged she couldn't say, but after a brief struggle Adenah managed to get it safely on. There had been no lack of cursing, however, and her own face was flushed by the end. Except it wasn't from exertion but rather anger.

Getting the pin back into place to hold the wheel on was the easiest part of all. Once all was said and done she stepped back to admire their job well done. Or rather, his. "Need a lift into town? I'd be lying if I said I could lift all that back onto the cart by myself after this, but it seems cruel to make you walk after all that."

Nimueh fought the urge to curse alongside her, because as she struggled to place the wheel, his own arms burned from the exertion of holding the cart up. His face went mottled and purple in the cheeks, eyes narrowed with strain until - finally, the wheel was placed. He responded by giving it a firm kick in the center, just to ensure the pin was firmly settled. He was silent at first, catching his breath as he tiredly moved to the pile of things, staring balefully down at the many things they still had to get back into the cart.

He didn't regret helping the woman, not at all, but that didn't stop him from looking almost mournful as he shook out his still burning fingers, and mentally prepared to continue the work.

That stormy expression broke into an almost sheepishly relieved glance at her offer. "I will take you up on that. I'm afraid I'm not as fast to ... bounce back as I was when I was younger."

After all the business with the cart was squared away, Adenah took a few steps away from the cart to check on her mount. Unlike them it seemed to be pleasantly relaxing, cooling itself as much as possible in the heat until Adenah gave a tug on the reigns. It took a little bit of coaxing, but eventually the beast came back to the cart so she could hitch it back up.

“And you think I am?” Adenah blew a raspberry and gave the animal a few scritches behind it’s ear. When she looked back on her things it was almost mournful, but standing around wouldn’t help them any. So, with a deep sigh, Adenah got started. “When I get back to the inn I’m ordering the biggest bath they have and I’m staying in my room all day tomorrow. Not movin’ at all.”

[Scar / Fin]

Well, to that Nimueh couldn't help but smile. This woman was friendly enough, and there was nothing quite like working hard next to someone to break through the social awkwardness he normally felt. The sound of a bath did sound fantastic, and as they worked to load up the wagon once more he told himself that it might just be worth the extra coin to stay in a proper inn tonight, just for that privelege.

The task finished, the two loaded their aching bodies into the overflowing cart, too tired to even pretend to be polite as they sagged thankfully to rest. In this, at least Nimueh didn't have to focus on directing the creature like Adenah did - for which he was thankful.
