What she said backed up one of the arguments he heard that the White Moon was in general "disorganized" -- they had no central structure. No one to force them. No one to go tell them to go do quotas or--

He buried it down underneath the words she couldn't stop saying, crossing his arms once again as he watched her and listened to her apparently get defensive about space missions, a topic that he had, indeed, never actually cared about. He felt he saw some flaws in her logic. Wouldn't things like animal conservation on a planet they weren't even sure the animals would even live on require something like constant attention? He imagined it was something like particularly touchy flowers that wilted if he looked at them wrong--

"I mean, feels the same and liveable to you. Probably some magic bullshit."

Not that he knew anything about it.

"You can find quiet areas in our base. Probably even more if you can venture into the Rift." His attitude about it seemed blasé. "Can get your own office and s**t. There are also areas around the world that are our safe spaces. Negaverse cares for its own." Well, until they--

Admittedly, as a recent college graduate, not having to really worry about health expenses with the whole hospital deal was nice.

What Fulgurite said about the planets only feeling like they had normal gravity and stuff because of magic gave Raksha pause. "Maybe? I have no idea. There's plants and stuff on some of them, though. That implies a certain degree of habitability. Hold on, let me text someone and ask."

[TXT
Raksha -> Encke: hi i have a question. how do the worlds have like. normal gravity and stuff. and does that only apply to us. could we like take some random guy and put him on a world and hed be able to breathe? and not have his bones decay? ]

"Okay, I texted him. Also, c'mon. It's good to know they take care of you guys though, but- You know an office is not nearly as cool as like, a ruined alien metropolis or weird dome- wait, what's the Rift? I don't think the handbook mentioned that, though I kinda skimmed it? I was too busy thinking about the scientific implications of everything."

"Space is cool! Science is cool! C'mon, haven't you ever watched Star Wars? Or read the Dragonriders of Pern? Or the Ghatti's Tale, or Fuzzy Sapiens?"

....Raksha appears to have gotten thoroughly distracted by the opportunity to talk about Space and Science. Actually, she's kind of vibrating about it.

Fulgurite hadn't expected to actually take his question to heart and go text someone about it. Guessed she was serious about the whole trying to figure out who was right thing if she was checking up on his comments in real-time. He was pretty sure he didn't take a five-dollar bribe to wait on her asking questions of other people, but his anger no longer felt worth the effort.

The text from Encke came in after about thirty seconds or so.

[ Hi Raksha! It's in part the magic of the world. Restoration of what it used to be back before it was wiped out. I've taken quite a few people to my planet at this point and they've been able to survive just fine. ]

He guessed a ruined alien metropolis sounded cooler than dark kingdom and monster land, especially as someone who did like sci-fi, though that could depend on one's perspective. Fulgurite wasn't sure if some dead space with no people was really worth pouring effort into, and her excitement about it told him already she was never going to be convinced of the opposite. "Rift is where the youma live," he swatted over his shoulder, before quickly diving back into her distraction. "I don't know, space is dead. This place is alive. And our place is accessible here, usable here, full of more immediate benefits. Not like I haven't watched Star Wars, but which one feels more important probably depends on your perspective."

He tilted his head. "If you like it so much, why not stay there instead of coming back here?"

After a few moments, another text came in from Encke, [ Are you thinking about bringing someone who isn't one of us? ]

"It's not all dead! Some worlds apparently have plants and other stuff. You just have to put in effort to fix it. The senshi who told me about things says he has weird metal spires and also glowing plants and other things."

"Also, it is magic, but he says people would be fine to go up there, and that he's taken tons of people up to his world. So it would be fine."

Raksha paused talking to Fulgurite to text Encke back. She didn't want to lie to him, but… she probably shouldn't tell him that she was talking to a negaverse senshi, unless he asked. Especially not on a "check and make sure you aren't secretly evil" mission.

[TXT
Raksha -> Encke: thank you!
Raksha -> Encke: oh, i just ran into another senshi and started talking about space, and neither of us knew the answer to that one, so i figured i would ask. he has blue hair?]

"Because I like here too! Science is really cool, and I've always wanted to go into scicomm and share cool discoveries with the world, and help people. I arranged my entire life structure to do that. I'm not gonna not do it because I'm secretly a reincarnated space alien."

"...Also because I don't think I could survive without nature valley granola bars, and they don't make those in space."

... Metal spires and glowing plants and other things?

Okay, there was a part of that that sounded cool, from a sci-fi perspective. He could almost picture it. It was probably better that he stopped being curious about it, though. Was stuck there, in any case. Wasn't like he really had an option to pick anything else. Also, no guarantee that whatever his unknown world was would be a futuristic fantasy scape--

"Responded already?" If he was supposed to be gathering information, maybe he could ask, "Who are you speaking with, anyway?"

Maybe she'd tell him and he could make note of that, too...

Wait-- "Granola bars? You love granola bars? You do sound like the type of person who would just go camp in space."

Encke's response came in shortly afterward, completely unsuspecting that the man with blue hair might have been a corrupted senshi. [Oh, okay! I'm glad you're meeting more of us.]
[Friends help in all of this.]

Fulgurite snorted, pushing off the wall. "Alright. Did that answer your questions, or?"

"Oh, uh…" Raksha hesitated. She had been avoiding saying Encke's name, and she had mentioned a bit of what was on his homeworld. It didn't seem like a terrible secret, and the primer hadn't said anything, but… "I don't know if that's ok to share? At least not without asking, and being clear who I was giving the information to. Saying something exists is a little different from saying who it belongs to, y'know?"

"Yeah, it did. That's five dollars worth of information, but... If I'm still on my information quest, next time I can go up there, would you like to come with? I was going to go steal a nice telescope from the local university- they have 30, its fine- but I could take you instead? If you want to see what its like up there. It's not much yet, but it does have some weird domes and alien artifacts."

The offer was genuine. Spur of the moment, definitely, but still genuine.

"...Also, granola is ******** good, okay? Its nature's perfect food. You can eat it anywhere. Including during class, if you're quiet."

Damn, so much for getting some useful information.

Well, he guessed there was some useful information in the fact that Sailor Raksha here seemed determined to figure out if the Negaverse was actually evil. People in the Negaverse who were better at convincing than probably would like that. There were some people in the Negaverse who might have been able to talk someone into just hopping off a cliff. "Yeah, I guess that's reasonable -- wait, you're serious?"

Fulgurite had only ever been to the Negaverse and had never taken up any offers to go to space, partially because he had never gotten any but also had never thought about it. There was a part of him that wanted to stubbornly say no; he didn't need whatever was out there. The other part of him wondered if entertaining it would do him some good. Maybe he could figure out something useful for the Negaverse. Or just be somewhere where he couldn't be arsed about quotas for a bit.

Not that Sylvite got on his a** about it. That was nice. But she might find the information useful.

"Uh, yeah, sure. If you run into me again and you don't plan on just taking me to your dome world to torture me or some s**t, I'll come along. As long as you don't feed me ******** granola. I'd rather something else." He scrunched his nose. "Like a couple of samosas, maybe."

"Of course I'm serious. You seem pretty cool, aside from the trying to punch me thing, and you didn't actually end up doing that, so- yeah. You seem pretty nice other than that, and unless you try and harm or kill me, you're welcome on my planet. You can even take home a souvenir! Within reason."

"...And I'll buy some samosas. Maybe even some kabobs and mango lassi, make a whole feast out of it. Takeout and urban exploration on a weird alien planet. Sound good?"

Raksha would hope Fulgurite had gotten enough of a read on her character to know she wouldn't hurt him, but he didn't sound overly serious about it, so he probably did. "See you next time? It was nice meeting you." She offered.

He could try to harm or kill her, he supposed. That was what he was supposed to be doing. He wasn't exactly one of those types that spent their time convincing people to join up. He, for one, hadn't ever been convinced.

"Alright, fine. Won't kill you, you give me food and show me your dead planet. Sounds like a deal."

Fulgurite would make some suggestions of the Indian restaurants he thought were best in the area, but he'd let her figure that out. Maybe he could at least decipher if the White Moon had any taste--

"Yeah, see you next time."

He waved over his shoulder, heading away from the alley they were in.

"Bye! See you soon! I promise I'll get good samosas!"

It would probably be polite if she went the other direction, so it didn't look like she was following him. And it would give her a fun excuse to go jump around on rooftops- something she very much did want to do. It was fun- probably one of the best parts of the experience, really.

Raksha vaulted onto the roof, and studiously went The Exact Opposite Direction of wherever Fulgurite was going.
