Xylia blinked back the tears. Even if the other girl thought her words were just simple comforts it meant a lot to the conflicted hybrid. She had been battling with this decision for the last year and to actually hear someone say it was fine to just follow her heart…well it definitely got to her. “Ah, yes.” She managed after wiping her eyes and forcing a smile. “My mother is a sacred heart and she uses the blades through dances. It’s easier to show honestly.” Xylia pursed her lips. “Her family has a fighting technique which is taught to their daughters every generation, a dance that is inspired by the nature around them.” The falling petal dance was her favorite, especially with the low sweeping moves that it entailed.

“That sounds lovely.” Noelani chewed on her bottom lip bashfully before daring to ask. “Could I see?” Would that be too much to ask? Her pale gaze studied the girl, her expression silently pleading before she shyly looked away. She had just told her to embrace the earthling roots if that was what her heart desired but now she was asking to see some Aishan heritage? Was that unfair? Still, Noelani could not get the vision out of her head of an Aishan warrior dancing with blades. It truly was an intriguing idea.

A chuckle left Xylia’s lips. “Certainly. I enjoy showing off.” She winked towards the girl and finally stood, brushing the sand from her leggings before holding out a hand. “Ah, I also never got your name. Is it alright to ask in exchange for a demonstration?” She teased playfully as she waited with her hand outstretched in potential friendship. Who knew chasing alol could lead to such an enjoyable encounter?

“Noelani.” Noelani’s cheeks flushed but she gladly accepted the outstretched hand. Brushing off the sand from her own skirts, the girl twisted and checked on her ankles before glancing towards Xylia. “So you always carry swords with you?” She found herself politely asking with interest. Maybe she should ask for a dagger soon so that she could have something. It was almost the same as the satchel she always had with her net and fishing tools. She also carried parchment and charcoal just in case she had to sketch an area for future exploration, her parents always taught her that map making was important for adventures. How else could one find their way back? Regardless, Noelani was eager to watch Xylia’s performance and so she made certain to step back and give the girl plenty of space. “Thank you again for showing me.” She smiled as she realized that despite her family’s worries she had actually managed to meet someone nice today, a potential friend even.

Noelani. Xyila noted the name that she was determined to remember. How could she forget such a sweet and unique face? Very doubtful. She grinned before nodding. “A true warrior never goes without them.” She replied before watching the other girl giving her space to perform. “You’re welcome. If anything I should be thanking you for helping me out today!” She teased playfully before her expression shifted as she grew more serious. The dance of the blades was enjoyable but something that she did not take lightly. So as Xylia drew her blades and prepared to begin, the girl’s entire posture and appearance changed to reflect the generations of warriors that she represented with her swift movements. She just hoped that despite her decision to carve out her own path among the earthlings her ancestors would still be proud of her and allow her to continue on their dance.
