“It’s fine.” Jhin let out a chuckle before lowering his bow so that he could go and pick up Ana’s lost arrow. “You didn’t do too horribly for your first shot with this bow. It takes time to adjust, especially since you only received this bow recently. I’ve been shooting with this one for years.” He handed the arrow back towards Anahita before patiently waiting for her to try again.

“Mmm.” Ana frowned before slowly nodding. She supposed that did make sense and she still was struggling with the whole don’t lift your shoulders but aim high aspect. The girl let out a sigh before taking the offered arrow again. “I’ll try to relax more.” She promised as she shifted her shoulders and tried to aim again.

“You have this, Ana.” Jhin promised as he placed his bow on the ground and went to stand behind his daughter, his hands trailing over her arms as he helped to position her and then pushed down on her shoulders. “Sometimes you just have to learn to relax and that not every move has to be perfectly calculated.” With archery he just felt like it was a natural part of him, the arrows flying easily from his bow as he hunted and fought across the forest through the years.

Ana felt a knot in her chest but slowly nodded at her father’s words. They were reassuring but she was always worried about not being good enough. She adored her mother but she knew that her mother wasn’t exactly a fighter like most in the village and it made the girl worried that perhaps she wasn’t going to be a fit for the rangers. It was her dream though and she desperately wanted to become strong like Jhin! Not that her mother wasn’t strong...it was just if Anahita didn’t have magic like her then what did she have? The girl let out a soft sigh before following her father’s instructions, her eyes closing as she focused on the target in her mind and raised the bow once more. This time when she let go of the arrow it flew and a loud thud announced that her arrow had actually hit the side of the dummy this time. “I did it! Well...mostly.” She smiled towards her father happily. “Thank you for your help!” Maybe she could do this after all!

Jhin placed a kiss on top of his daughter’s head. “You did it.” He repeated with a chuckle. “The aim is off but you did strike the target so I’m very proud of you, Ana.” The ranger backed away again so that he could grab his bow and arrows. “Now you just have to practice that about fifty more times and we can call it a day.” He found himself teasing lightly as he watched his daughter’s expression. While others may have groaned at the amount of work she instead seemed to embrace it. Jhin just hoped that she didn’t overexert herself because eventually those muscles would start to feel the burn of the string in her fingers and the weight of each pull before she fired an arrow. Still, Jhin knew that he was definitely proud of Ana and Zota both for the young spirits that they were growing into.
