Tourmaline had been told that she was 'a lot' under a number of circumstances. She was used to being perceived largely and loudly, her hair a statement to that. In her line of work -- the one that tended to bring in the most bank, at least -- it paid to stand out. It paid to be an indidual, to be memorable, to be unique. It meant that she was a little more boistrous around like-minded folks when they had a chance to jive with one another, as she had with Morganite.

It didn't mean that she wasn't observant, however. It didn't mean that she didn't pay attention, or that she didn't know when to be serious. It didn't mean that she was so distracted with team bonding that she missed the eye-rolling sigh from Benitoite.

Lips pursed together, Tourmaline shifted on her feet, returning to the mostly business that she'd been by the water fountain in front of the Foundation building. She tucked the cat toys into her shoulder bag in change for a small baggy that she opened up to pull a handful of snacks from, popping one into her mouth to keep herself from saying something impolite as she pondered, listening. "Offices tend to contain information. If this creature is using it as a base of operations they could've repurposed it. The truth is we don't know what we're looking for, or up against, so we should look everywhere and start with what's closest," she chimed in eventually, popping another tiny cookie into her mouth before holding the baggy out to Morganite. "Teddygram?"

"Teddygram? Don't mind if I do," Morganite replied, reaching into Tourmaline's little baggy of cookie treats. Being a bartender, he had to have that same 'largeness' of personality that she had. But, like her, it didn't mean he was oblivious to what was going on around him. Not by a long shot. He'd caught Benitoite's sigh at the task set before them and filed it away for future reference under 'Surly' for dealing with the man in the future.

He munched his little bear-shaped cookie thoughtfully before turning to Azurite. "Actually, I agree," he nodded, voice low. "I think we should investigate the office first. It seems a more likely place for a cat alien to hide, I feel. And Tourmaline makes a very good point -- there's a lot of information kept in offices. They could have set it up as a base of operations with ease, if they're as intelligent and suchlike as the Bosses said."

Reaching into the baggy for another cookie, he gave a little shrug. "At least that's my opinion," he said as he popped the cookie into his mouth.

“Alright, that’s three of us in agreement at least.”

Azurite nodded with a brief if… slightly longing look towards the Teddygrams.

“Let’s go and explore the office.
He turned and lead the way, this mission was too important to wait too long he thought.

He didn’t have a terrible team assignment regardless. He just had to believe that this would go well.

The barge that the fixture that had once served as an office was floating on seemed to be anchored securely in place, upon closer inspection. That was a good thing, all in all, considering their group was about to head inside. Light filtered in through the stained windows, provided by a street lamp just outside, casting just enough of a glow to keep them from bumping into anything immediately upon entering. Was there still electricity running inside? If so, would flipping lights on startle whatever might be lurking inside, if there was anything at all?

There was a large desk just inside, most likely where people once checked in. Not far behind it was a tall, metal filing cabinet, drawers open to varying degrees. To the left of the desk, several feet away, was a table with four chairs around it, one pulled out as though someone at one point had gotten up from it, another knocked over sideways to the floor. Papers were scattered everywhere; file folders, old manifests maybe? One wouldn't know without investigating, most likely, but one could assume.

Towards the far end of the office was a door, slightly ajar.

He wanted so badly to check out the papers, there were so many disorganized papers, just…everywhere. He wanted to know who’d been looking at what, and maybe find some clue as to why they were so scattered.

If it was the 'cat' that they were looking for - then what might a ‘cat’ be interested in? Did they ship through this yard?

He worried his lip and thought over who had what with them though, eyeing that door.

He took a deep breath, and while it was tempting to suggest that someone else brave the possibility that there was something awful like strangers behind the door and not an alien cat…
He braced himself, deciding to lead by example.

He glanced at the others to try and quietly tell them to prepare for the worse and moved forward to nudge the door further open.

(Sorry, holidays and more hours at work plus lots of boss visits. Sister also has a bit of postpartum so been helping her some. )

Everything in the office looked like a disaster but in that chaos what might be hidden? It would be easy to assume others seeing the mess would ignore it, just brush it off as the mess it looked like, but could any relevant information be hidden in the scattered papers or in the filing cabinet and it's partically open draws?

Deciding to grab some papers up from the floor he started to leaf through them as silently as he could, following behind the male who had decided to take the lead and head for the open door. He was hoping to find something mixed in with all the paperwork, anything useful tucked away. It wasn't an enterily dumb idea really...hiding something in plane sight where most wouldn't look.

For a moment he did wonder if he should be opening the tuna packet he'd been given, not exactly what he'd wanted, but at least it seemed the other two were less...energetic now. He really wasn't much for high energy people...never had been.
