“Thank you.” Kyril squeezed Jhin’s neck before letting go and carefully walking forward. Her amber gaze gleamed happily as she glanced about the large area, the tapestries catching her attention along with the bed and other pieces of furniture that seemed recently made. It truly did seem like everyone in the village was pulling together to help make a home for her. If anything Kyril felt like she was the one who may have bribed the villagers to accept her with all of the gifts that she had given them when she had finally sorted through her luggage and all the glass works nestled inside.
“I don’t think I can tell you how much this truly means to me.” Kyril knew that she would have to return to Oba and Matori eventually but this place was feeling more and more like a home to her. I never would have expected that life in the forest could be so appealing. Though as she glanced towards Jhin, Kyril knew the strongest allure was standing next to her.

Jhin reached over so that he could brush a stray piece of hair from Kyril’s face. “And I don’t think I could ever tell you how much you mean to me.” He confessed with a warm smile. “So much has changed since you tumbled into my life.” Maybe the spirits just knew what he needed after struggling with so much loss. His aqua gaze studied her thoughtfully before he placed a gentle kiss on her forehead, right on the center crystal that he adored. “I just hope our paths continue crossing like this even if we cannot always be together.”

Kyril found her gaze burning as she could only quietly nod lest her voice betray her. How was she supposed to leave these people who had taken her in with no hesitation? But she missed her family and she was so curious about how Koril was doing with his romance. Could she even tell anyone about this? Maybe not yet, at least not until she could figure out what was going to happen next. Did she just settle in Sauti? What about Belrea or Oba? So many thoughts crossed her mind that she found herself shaking her head in frustration. “We will find a way.” She promised before looking at him, her lips pursed in determination. “If you cannot tell me how much I mean to you then perhaps you should show me.”
If they had to part soon then Kyril would make certain to enjoy every moment that she could with Jhin until they could be reunited. He had his duties in the forest after all and even if she stayed the winter the summer months would be the busiest for both of them as Kyril had family matters to attend to while caravans would be coming through soon. She was already in this deep so why not fully commit? A nervousness made her cheeks flush, but excitement had her heart racing as she waited to see Jhin’s answer to her challenge.

“Show you?” Jhin’s gaze widened before he noticed Kyril’s sincere expression and the ranger gave a nod. “Then I suppose I will make certain to do so.” At first his reaction was to pull her closer to him, his lips seeking hers for a gentle kiss, but the more that Kyril returned his affections the more heated the pair became. Eventually they found their way to the bed and Jhin found himself ready to explore everything with Kyril. Whatever the future held for them they would find a way to make things work. The last couple of months together had already warmed his heart to her and Jhin was determined not to let this woman leave his life so easily.

A warmth spread through Kyril’s chest and heated her whole body as she followed Jhin. Everything about this moment felt right and she was glad that she had taken the risk. They would just cherish these moments spent together and worry about the future later. All that Kyril knew was that in this very moment she was happy and she wanted to return the affections of the man who cared so much for her. For a moment she did recall teasing Jhin about the family room that he had mentioned and Kyril found herself smiling. She supposed if she did have to start a family one day then perhaps this would be the man to raise children with. Not some uppity noble, some other arisan or anything like that, but a ranger with a smile that had melted her heart.
