At least, Jada consoled herself as she looked at the Everyone's A Winner sign and her sister's oversized #2 pencil, she wasn't the one in possession of an oversized #2 pencil.

Arilee stared at the bottom of the duck she'd plucked from the water. 7, huh? Edging over to the prizes, she studied each until she found the bucket marked with her number. THen, she stared a moment before bursting into laughter. Spider rings? Really? It was wonderfully campy and the tall blonde adored the sheer silliness. Sifting through the plastic rings, she found a bright pink spider and stuck it proudly on her finger. Then, she put her duck back and stepped back to give it a moment to get lost amongst all the others. She'd try again once she was sure all the rubber ducks were mixed up good.

Ari's second attempt at winning herself a duck had, instead, resulted in a jumbo pencil. Which honestly? She was super okay with. As far as she could tell, it was regulation lead which meant it could, iin theory, be used for those stupid scantron tests.
The very thought brought a smile to her face. The teacher would doubtless b annoyed, but come on. How many times did one get the chance to whip out a monster pencil in class?

Deciding to try one more duck before wandering off to see the rest of what the fair had to offer, Arilee soon found herself in possession of a pair of wacky laces. Okay, not precisely her style, but her little sis would love them! Tucking a set of soft, lime green laces into her pocket, she made a note to give them to Shelley in the most dramatic of ways.

After scoping out other games to play, Arilee decided to give the duck pond one more go. Mostly because she really wanted a duck. This time, she closed her eyes and groped blindly for a rubber duck.
When she pulled one from the water, she flipped it over and let out a gleeful whoop. Duckess!
Slapping her duckie down in front of the dude running the game, Ari laid claim to a bright blue stuffed duck.

Arms full of bear, Mehri decided it was now time for another attempt at duck. This game she really, really enjoyed as she won something every single time for absolutely low effort, and here she was reaching out to grab another one and see what she could get. She pulled up a duck and got an option for friendship bracelets, but as she'd already won that prize she wasn't given the option to get it again and so the duck was set down. Mehri decided she'd draw again in just a moment, after a few ducks had a chance to go by.

It was time to grab another duck, and so Mehri reached out and grabbed another floating duck. Eager to see what it was, she flipped it over and...it was a Ring pop! Mehri wasn't overly into sweets like this, as she preferred baked goods over the common candy, but still a prize was a prize. Tucking it into her bag, she moved on with the intent to come back later. She would have a duck, mark her words.

Duck time duck time duck time duck time! Mehri chanted in her heart that she really, really hoped she'd get a duck this go 'round, or at least different prize, but none of that was meant to be. After flipping back the duck and checking the number, she sighed to find it was something she'd already pulled and therefore could not get. At least she could go again.

She had a two in ten chance of getting a duck and yet somehow, out of five pulls, she'd only gotten three prizes. The math didn't entirely add up and thus the grump had come into play. Maybe this time it'd happen? Nope! She did win a candy necklace though, which she'd probably hand off (along with the ring pop) to the nearest kiddo she passed. Good on them, enjoy the sugar! Yesterday, Giulia had won a Jumbo sized #2 pencil. That was a no from her; today, she was going for something... bigger. Something... better.
#9 - Shoelaces. The wacky spiral ones that you don't need to tie! Assorted colors.
Staring down at her duck, Giulia sighed in disgust before casting her dream duck a look. "I'm gonna getcha getcha getcha," she promised the little blue duck, "One way or another..."

Yesterday's prize had been a giant duck. The delightful creature lay in her bed, being used by her cats as a pillow. But today?

Comparing her prize to her sister's, Jada had to admit... it was a draw.

Duck Pond, Duck Pond, everyone gets a priiiize. Jada was hopeful that maybe she would get another duck to keep her first one company. #4 - Ring Pop!
