Immediately, a flash of guilt went through her at having pushed him - a hook in her gut that made her want to squirm. But she tugged up her anger to try and drown that feeling out, and instead huffed, adjusting her hair in an effort to look as if his words weren't affecting her.
Mom and dad would tell her to just walk away, and let the fight stop - but that meant admitting she was overreacting. "I would never yell at Visha, because HE doesn't deserve it."

His sisters had a way of spinning their words just enough to really dig at him. Brexxa was always so cold and off putting that Sekani did his best to ignore her, which wasn't hard given their age differences, but Korin...
Frustrated tears started to build at the corners of his eyes. He didn't want to cry because that would be admitting he was a baby, but every time he got mad they just popped out!
"Y-y-yeah well, I hope when dad comes home and you dance that you fall in mud!"

Very quickly this had devolved into nothing more than petulant insults, but both children were becoming affected by it. If Sekani was near tears, so was Korin, who pursed her lips fiercely in an effort to wrinkle her face enough to discourage fat tears from forming in her eyes. She harrumphed, and with nothing more to say she stormed from the room and back to the security of her own, making sure her footsteps hammered loud enough to convey her anger at her little brother.
She couldn't even remember how the entire thing had started! One moment they had been happy and smiling, and the next-- it must have been his fault! His!

So now she was just leaving?! Could she even DO that?! "Go ahead and run away! It just proves that I'm right!" Sekani called out after her. For a moment he puffed up, almost as if he were ready to charge after his big sister, but thought better of it at the last moment.
"Come on Meeki, let's go." He needed to go outside where they could train in peace. The little averin chirped happily and settled on his shoulder, blissfully ignorant to the emotions causing his master's skin to mottle.

"It does not you booger!" She yelled back at him, knowing he could hear her through the mortar and clay of their home's walls. Still, with space between them, Korin was determined to be angry at her brother forever - she would never forgive him for-- for...
