Ikaika 8
He was so excited. Kaiko loved them He had always wanted a snaptrotter of his won but ever since his first pet had dended him from bullies, his parents who had seen the potential for ferocity in the loyal creature had forbidden him from having one. They had gotten rid of what seemed like his only real friend at the time. Ikaika hoped that these two would help fill the void. He was still looking for the original snaptrotter.
Kaiko deserved the best and Ikaika was only too happy to oblige. A far cry from the thin forlorn waif with cold, hard eyes. It had all been a lie.
"You can choose first, or we can share them equally."
"They are of studding quality too, extra protective."

Kaiko 9
He held the leads for the two massive beasts while Ikaika picked up their food. He wasn't sure he could pick one creature over the other.
"Lets see which one they choose. They tend to prefer on person over all."
Once formed it was a surprisingly deep bond.
He wondered what their names would be. Something epic he hoped.
"Wouldn't that be nice." he asked the closest snaptrotter.
He grinned and accepted the small tray that his mate offered. Sushi, his favorite.
"You know what I like." he smiled smugly.

Ikaika 9
They rode home bareback on their new critters. They had a an incredibly smooth gait and Ikaika determined that he ha paid the correct price for what he had gotten. They arrived hoe in no time.
He was delighted in the upgrade. Such good critters! They fed the animals and then retired to the house.
he was tired and curled himself on the couch with his feet handing off the end and his head in Kaiko's lap. He dozed while his life mate read.
Could life get any more perfect?

Kaiko 10
Kaiko idly massaged his mates temple until he was all but sleeping. He looked like a sweet angel in his sleep not the crafty mind that actually lay there. Determined, kind and stahlwart that was his Ikaika.
The man also had arguably the perfect lips.
He stroked his hair as he got to the good part in the book.
He felt complete and at peace.
..and also nervous because the main character was approaching grave peril.

Ikaika 10
Ikaika felt Kaiko tense, he cracked an eye open to see what was going on.
Ahh, reading again. Did Kaiko ever sleep?
He stretched, muscles tensed until they relaxed comfortably down.
"Come on old son." he teased, tugging on Kaiko's midnight blue hair.
"To bed with you, you know they are not going to kill off the main character when your only halfway through it. Or it would be the end."
He laughed at the expression on his mate's face. A storm boomed in the waves above.
"I'll keep you safe."
