“Yes, it would seem like it from what I do know about them.” Which wasn’t much, there were only two in existence after all. “I only say dedication because it is a choice to do what they do. They go into it knowingly...or perhaps they do now - after the first one.” When it was known it could happen and what the results were. He didn’t know Alkaid at all but he did doubt she knew what she’d been stepping into. It was however a choice and now one he figured most would make, most people had a sense of self and wanted to keep things like that. They wanted to remain human. To lose that and become...something else - someone else. It was something most wouldn’t do.
“The difference is in the little things, that’s all there are in differences as far as I figure.” Shrugging his shoulders a bit, a small sad look about his features. The last remains of his drink were finished before he spoke again, he’d get a refill in a few minutes. “One is still human and can communicate while the other isn’t human even in appearance and likely can’t speak in a way we can understand. I don’t know about memories for either group really. I know neither fights for themselves or puts their own emotions into the fight.” Unlike either of them and others who fought and you could see the emotions in their expressions, hear it in their voices. Raw emotion.
“Yes, that is an issue and why I tried to keep my last partner as far removed from things as I could. That was the issue I”m afraid. But dating within our own didn’t go well either.” That had perhaps gone even worse than his latest break up, though both hurt for different reasons. “No offence taken, I found it easier to talk as civilians and to connect with team members, those who I’d brought into the war or could trust, in order to build on a sense of trust and unity. Katya was also there and could freely talk - like Iolite.” It was easier than him inviting them all to one place, while powered up, and have them all sitting ducks with their energy signatures. To try for a civilian gathering in a different place...it wasn’t a place he knew as well as his home - incase anything ever had happened. It was safer in some ways he’d felt.
“Social things aren’t for everyone. I’m rather used to social events - I grew up attending social events as a civilian. I’ve learned to deal with people and include them - keep them close.” Enemy or ally...it was good to keep both close.

"Just cause it's a choice, doesn't mean it's the right one..." Mason muttered around his cup as he took another drink. "They may be able to talk, but.. " Mason sighed. He didn't think that they thought for themselves, in either case.
"Yes, but where you ******** up is bringing outsideres into your house. All you've accomplished at this point is making yourself look bad. You could deny you're doing something all you want but what actual proof do either of you have to prove it? You've caused more drama for yourself then you needed." This is why he didn't bring any one back home. Not that things got that far.
"Iolite is not mine. Nor is she technically my sisters. Despite appearances." Iolite was as wild and free as they came. There had been a third corrupt Io hovered over, but they had long since purified.
Mason rolled his eyes. "Been there, done that. That s**t never gets any less annoying though..."

"Oh no, of course not. I don't think it is the right one at all." Shaking his head a bit as he spoke. "No, as loyal as I am I wouldn't choose that if I could. I rather like being who I am....and it would, in a way, defeat the purpose of what brought me into this whole thing to start with."
Nodding his head he took to looking at the empty cup, he really could use another drink. It was a shame he didn't drink alcohol or he'd go home for a strong drink after this. "I'm aware of this now. I hadn't thought or even realized he knew I had people over - he never said anything. So it is both our faults, for differing reasons." But he and Aiden were both guilty. "It turns out he didn't appreciate me offering my home to my cousin either. But I wasn't about to tell my cousin, who was just moving into the city, to figure it out himself. I may not be much for socializing wit h my cousins and such...but I'm not about to leave one to fend for themselves." Even though his cousin was older than he was. It was also a far more dangerous city than his cousin could have handled. Also, had he left his cousin on his own he'd be a knight at this point.
"Sadly, I thought I was doing a good thing - something a leader should do, get them altogether and communicating and introduce them to each other. It cost me in the end. I've learned my lesson and I'm dealing with it. When I really sit and think about it all I doubt it would work out between us....that things could be mended." And perhaps it was for the better. He would be keeping a civilian safe from the life he lived. He wouldn't be burdening someone with the worry over him coming home injured or being out late. No doubts about other things either. Finally looking up he caught the attention of the one behind the bar who had made his drink and asked her for another. He'd pay once it was done and he went up to collect it.
"I suppose I'm simply not meant to date. It does give me more time for other things." Which he was ok with, sort of, and Katya wasn't too upset about it...at least not that he was aware of anyway.
"Oh?" Tilting his head and raising a brow at the other. "Used to it? How so?" Jumping for the chance to change the topic away from his horrible dating life, and now lack of one.

"I suppose though...The case is different with the half breeds?" Mason asked cautiously. "Jaysen doesn't talk about the ones she's encountered. Says she's met a few though." He shrugged. "Their consciousness is still intact correct? So I suppose they could give a more accurate idea then a full could.." Mason eyed the other man. "...Stop thinking about it and just do it." He looked at his own cup for a moment before contemplating a second one before deciding otherwise. He didn't even know what his sister had ordered, best just ditch it. Mason shrugged idly. "Bad things come from good intentions. Again, just cause you think its a good move, doesn't make it the right one." He muttered, looking for a trashcan. "That, or you should just stop dating shitty people." Spying one, he muttered something of being right back before disposing of the cup. "As for how so.. Don't answer their calls, dumbass." A little blunt but... To the point. "Eventually they stop calling back."

"They are different. They don't look human, not entirely anyway, but more than the full blooded ones. They can eat normal food I believe as well. I'm not completely sure on how you achieve a half state...since full is a shattering starseed....so how to half shatter one, as I assume that's the means to have a half blooded one, is something I'm unsure of." Assuming that was in fact correct, which when it came to magic and such it might not be. Magic, and this whole war, broke so many laws of science and broke it's own laws...or what could be thought of to be laws of a sort. "Yes, their conscious is intact as is human speech and thought...memories. It's there. Bazzite was a full...and could talk...and make sense. But there was an animalistic, savage, side as well...something not human." Which made half youma better than full youma, in his opinion. It did, in a way, shows just how close and blurry the line of human and beast was though; how amusing.
He did give in and motion the other to make him another drink, he could honestly use the caffeine and he knew it. While Mason got up to toss something out he went to pay for his drink, and grab it as soon as it was done. Returning shortly after the other did he sat himself back down. "Well, point me in the direction of someone not shitty, as you so bluntly put it, and I'd be happy to try again. I don't happen to have the best of luck in finding people interested in me." At least not males who were good looking.
"I seem to have issues when it comes to dating. Those most interested in me...don't interest me in the slightest bit." Shrugging his shoulders as he took a sip of his drink, and burnt his tongue in the process. "I was considering telling him it won't work...and we best not talk further. But perhaps a quick cut, as you suggest, would be the best idea." Another shrug from the ashen blond as he leaned back in his seat a bit, getting comfortable.
