Come Here Often?

Monday. Just another Monday. Monday always got a bad rap. Daphne didn't find anything wrong with the day itself. But than she didn't have a job she wanted to rip her hair out at the roots over. At least not always. When your job revolved around working with teenagers, there were days you wanted to do just that. Some of them were such....No. Polite words, Daphne. You were a dumbass when you were their age. Worse, perhaps. That was a time she definitely would love to forget about.
Of course, working in a High School, even as the secretary and not dealing with the students as much as the rest of the staff, made it a bit difficult to forget sometimes. One overheard a lot of conversations when you were silent at your desk, trying to work on something. All the teenage drama. One day they'd realize how pointless it all was.
Dropping her bag at her desk in the office, Daphne made her way back out into the hallway, nodding and smiling to a few of the kids who greeted her on her way to the staff room. Coffee would be good right about now. She'd never been a big morning person, but taught herself to tolerate it for the sake of the job she wanted.
She closed the door softly, not paying attention to who was in there until she turned around. And locked eyes with one of the math teachers, a man she didn't particular like. He'd not made a move on her, yet, though she could tell by the way he looked at her he very much wanted to. And she was done doing that sort of thing so casually. Done! It was exhausting. Except...
Offering the man a glare in response, Daphne focused her attention on a much nicer sight in the staff room.
Nick Berardi. Yup, definitely a much nicer sight. And not because of how exceedingly handsome he was. In the little she'd seen of him around and the little they've spoken to each other so far, he seemed like a decent guy. One she was interested in getting to know more. See where it went. Hopefully somewhere good. Somewhere very good. She was tired of all those silly little boys.
"Good morning, Nick," Daphne greeted, sliding in next to him at the counter to make a coffee. "Thank you for the documentary recommendation. I enjoyed it." Glancing up, she tried her best not to crane her neck so much. Impossible. So tall! But than she was 5 feet on the dot, so everyone was so tall.

he'd recognize her voice and Give a recommendation. Like the old man he is. And mention he was glad she enjoyed it. He obviously had admired he from a distance, he'd probably notice the guy from the door. I think he'd be more interested I his research notes at the time hilariously enough.
