She laughed at him. "Marriage? Gael I don't expect you to ask that right now if at all. I know things are complicated for us both. I still have another son you've not met and your daughter dislikes me at the moment." Kalli didn't think marriage would be considered until their children were okay with it and knew what was going on. As it should be. Them being parents already meant they were responsible and had to think things through. They couldn't be reckless.
"Maybe sometime down the road we can consider getting married. Right now, however, I am happy with just being together with you."

"I am beyond pleased that you understand that." Most women would see his daughter as a problem and leave. Or demand that he choose. Kalli didn't. She wanted to fix the issue and work together with his daughter. If they couldn't have a family bond then it seemed Kalliope at least wanted a friendly one. Gael admired that.
"Maybe in the future." He repeated her words with a nod. If this woman continued to be amazing about everything then he could see himself asking her to be his wife for sure.

"Why wouldn't I understand that? I have children too." She moved so that she could straighten up and place a kiss to Gael's cheek. "I look forward to a future with you." Wherever it led.
Kalli wasn't sure where it would take her but she had to admit the idea was exciting. She knew she could handle him going out to sea for a long time, as long as she could get letters, and she loved it when he was in port. They did things together so she was never left at home to think about what she could do to be useful. It just fit, the two of them.

"You have a point."
The kiss to his cheek prompted him to turn his head and claim an actual kiss from her. Nothing explicit but more than a simple one. He wanted to show her how much he appreciated her answer.
When he pulled away from her he brought her hand up and turned his hand so that he could entwine their fingers together. Holding it like that he kept smiling like an idiot.
"So when did you want to move your stuff? I will make sure I am off work in time to carry your things." And her if he was asked to.

His kiss and the way he held her hand brought about a flutter in her stomach. It had been so long since she felt the butterflies. Kalli looked down as she tried to hide her own smile. When he asked when she wanted to move she looked around and thought about it for all of ten seconds. "Tomorrow evening. That way I can pack up my stuff and talk to Jax to let him know where I'll be."
It wouldn't do to cause her son undue worry.
