"They haven't yet..." Kraven pointed out. Laine rubbed at her neck awkwardly. She miiiight have had a hand in that. "I... I don't.. know, exactly." She hadn't gotten all the details yet. "I just know someone's missing... They're organizing some witch hunt to find them." Just like they had with Vespa, and who knows how many others. Kraven sighed "You say useless... Like I'm helpful to them." What did he do beyond their 'quota'. It's not like he was actively out there trying to recruit people, or worse.

Logically he couldn't leave. Friends, family, business... Derek. He couldn't just pick up and go anymore. Kor had roots in Destiny City if he liked it or not. His hands scraped along his scalp, through the fuzz that was his hair growing back and just scratched at it almost angrily before stopping and sighing. "I gotta get stronger. Th...they might send people after me...and I gotta defend myself again." He looked up finally, from Kraven, to Laine, and his heart hurt. Derek should be here, but he couldn't be. "I'm so weak..."

"There's ways to handle that... It might take time but..." Well, what else did they have going for them at the moment anyway. "As it is... You've got some cover.." She muttered, pulling her phone out. "The hell are you on about??" Kray questioned, taking Kor's hand and giving it a squeeze. "Is it just us here???" Laine questioned, her gaze lingering questioningly on their tangled ones but she said nothing of it. "Uuh...." Laine sighed, rolling her eyes. "Why are you never any help Kraven." She sometimes wondered what Kazuo even saw in him... Especially considering as of late. When she was done typing out her message, she turned her phone to the boys. "If anything, they might question why your quota turn in has been so.... spotty."

Kor's hands were now on his own face, rubbing it, scratching at his skin. The man was nervous as hell about all of this. He felt so crowded, but he needed them around. Desperately. He stayed quiet, even as he read Laine's screen and just let his brows knit a little bit. Of course he knew what that meant. She was still doing the work he should be. He was still dragging her down. Making her do his work. Guilt ate at his heart. He took a deep breath against the feeling of everything starting to cave in again and just tried to push them both away to get some space for himself. Slowly he stood back up and walked to the opposite side of the bathroom to lean against the open window and breath the cold air Laine had brought in with her. "...I'm staying hidden," he whispered, fingers tugging at his lip rings instead of clawing at his face. "Gonna... leave even less. Check in with Derek if you aren't here. I.. I won't have my phone on. It's.. I have to do something to... feel safe. Feel like I'm protecting him." God, Derek didn't need to be dragged into this. Not at all. "That's... That's all I can do other than bolt."

"I chose to do that." Laine said, almost as if she was reading his mind. "You didn't make me do that." They watched as he stood, moving towards the window. Kraven shifted, glancing from Laine to Kor. "I'm gonna go see if I can find the Kid.. See if he's hanging around here or he wandered over to Kaz.." He said quietly, and excused himself from the room. Laine sighed, silently cursing Krays retreating form. She wasn't entirely... ready for a one on one, but it was here. Whether she liked it or not. She stood, moving to stand behind Kor and tentatively, almost awkwardly wrapped her arms around him. Resting her head against his back, she put a little weight into it. Not a whole lot, she didn't want to hurt him. But just enough. "You've done good.. Staying hidden." Laine said quietly. She'd been keeping tabs here and there. "Is... Derek, gonna understand what's going on???" Checking in with Derek might have been fine for the rest of them but she didn't know him. Had no reason to. "Have you considered he might be..." No. She wouldn't finish that sentence. Wouldn't put him through that kind of stress. "Never mind... We can try... some training exercises, if you want." 'We'. Like she had any place here anymore. Stupid. "To try and get back into the swing of things. I don't know how much it will help but..." It was still something... Her arms tightened around his waist just a bit, and she turned her head to almost hide it in his back. "...Have you ever thought about purifying..."

Kor was going to say something at Kraven leaving, but he left so quickly he didn't get a word out. Instead Kor rolled is eyes and looked back out the window, arms crossing over his thin chest. Then he heard Laine moving and felt her coming behind him, holding him in a way she used to. It brought tears to his eyes and made his chest squeeze tight. God, he used to be stronger than this. He was so much stronger before. Swallowing at her words and the thoughts that came with them, he stiffened. No, he hadn't thought about what if Derek was on the opposite side. Oh ********. What if... he'd ...hurt Derek in the past? Was he a knight? A senshi? But his thoughts were snapped by her last question and Kor froze completely, holding his breath for a moment. "...a lot. I've... been talking to some knights..."

Her fingers twitched when he tensed up. Maybe this was a bad idea... Then again... She was already in this deep.. No point in turning back now. Sighing, she leaned back and gave a gentle tug towards the sink, trying her best to not actually fall in it... Laine gathered him up as best she could in her arms and hugged him close. "He might not be... I'm sorry I even said it.." Kor didn't have to think about it. Not now anyway. Laine gently ran her fingers down his back, trying not to focus to hard on the ridges of his spine that her fingers brushed against. "What about Kray?? What would he do?" She asked softly, hooking her chin over his shoulder. God, he was so thin. So frail. Laine hated the thought of that word. What it could mean... What it did mean. Kor had cut all his hair off. The luster was gone from him. Everything about him was different. He was still Kor, but at the same time, he wasn't. She fell silent for a few moments, just letting the quiet and the sound of each other's breathing drift between them as she kept rubbing his back. Finally she sat back, but just enough so that she could kiss his forehead. "I'm sorry hon..."

It didn't feel the same anymore. Kor wrapped his arms around Laine slowly, as if he wasn't sure he could. But then the taller man clung to her, putting himself against her as best as he could. Yes, he was still thin, but she wasn't seeing him at his words. Kraven and Derek had been working with him, along side a couple different therapists. Honestly, he didn't know what to do. Purifying meant leaving them. He wouldn't... he wouldn't remember them, would he? He didn't know how that went. He hadn't asked those questions yet. Her lips brushed his forehead and that's when he just lost it. The tears came back and he pulled her against him tightly, hand burying in her hair. "H-hey.. You don't have anything to say sorry for, lady," he whispered against her shoulder, voice heavy and cracked. "Promise. You d-didn't do anything." It was his time to pull back to look her over, pushing her bangs out of her face, cupping her cheek with that hand. "You're too good for me still."

"It isn't your fault either..." She said, wiping the tears from his face. Sometimes things just happen. People drift apart. There wasn't much they could have done. "Pft... You say that but I would like to remind you, I technically just broke into your house." She pulled him back against her and just let him rest. Kor looked utterly exhausted, be it from this.. or everything. "Though from the sounds of it, you're done better then me and you've got Kraven tripping over himself for you." Somethings had definitely changed in her absense. "We should move you somewhere less danger prone..." She said softly, feeling the small tremors run through him. "Do you want to move?"

He still loved her. That was all there was to it. Like Kraven, like Derek, he loved her and he always would. Kor sighed and pressed his lips to her forehead before slowly pulling back and nodding. "My meds'll kick in soon." Before he left the bathroom, however, Kor washed his face. He helped Laine hop down and then just gave his face a scrub with water and soap before rinsing and drying off. It wasn't much, but it made him feel a whole lot less heavy and gritty somehow. His eyes were puffy from crying and being rubbed, his head was hurting, and it was just time to go lay down. So, taking Laine's hand in his, Kor threaded their fingers together and just went directly to the bed. He only then let go to flop down in a long, exhausted heap and let out the worlds heaviest sigh. "C'mere." He wouldn't give her time to think about it. He was already holding a hand out.

Laine stiffened slightly, when her forehead was kissed, but forced herself to relax. "Go to bed." She muttered. "Before you pass out on the floor." She picked idly, almost distractedly at the hem of her rather large hoodie as he scrubbed his face. When her hand was snatched up, Laine startled and narrowly avoided smashing her elbow into the counter. Laine stood almost awkwardly at the edge of the bed. "I dunno about that one chief." She mumbled, lookin at his hand. "We aren't exactly dating at this point. And you're kinda involved with other people..." And while she was pretty sure Kraven wouldn't care what she and Kor did, she didn't know what Derek's thoughts on this were... Let alone even knowing Derek. Granted that didn't stop her from tracing random shapes in his palm with her finger tip. But she was thinking about it. She shouldn't be here. Shouldn't have gotten involved liek this. Laine felt stupid for coming out hiding because of a stupid text... Cause of a phone call. "You... You should sleep."

He was tired enough that the pain when she basically said no wasn't masked in the slightest bit. The full grown man just let out a long sigh and looked up at her with pleading eyes. She was going to vanish again. He was going to wake up and she was going to be gone and everything was going to be raw. "Just..." He pulled. He pulled her down into the bed with him and wrapped his arms around her, fitting Laine's head under his chin. "I'm not asking to ******** you. Or kiss me. I just... need you here... Until I fall asleep. I can't... see you go." His voice sounded raw as he spoke. He couldn't watch her leave again. "Please. Stay until I'm asleep..."

She grunted softly when she was pulled down, sighing against his shirt. "That had been the plan..." Laine rubbed at his arm gently, trying to get him to relax. "So, you and Kray huh??" She laughed lightly. "There a story there?" Laine had always knew there was... something there. But Kor had always said it was never gonna happen. Kor had what he needed back then. He didn't necessarily need more. Laine fingered a chain around her neck nervously. "...Am... Am I going to hurt you? Laying on you like this?" Wouldn't be better if they were on their sides? He wouldn't get hurt, and she wouldn't jostle him as much when she left... "Honest answer?"

"Just stay," he whispered, ignoring the questions about him and Kray. He still was trying to not feel guilty every kiss he shared with the man, despite Derek being a bit too eager with the fact Kor kissed other people. His arms wrapped around her waist, just holding onto those hips. "You're....not going to hurt. Kray and Derek lay on me." That's all he wanted to say on the subject. Instead he sniffled hard and just nosed into her where ever he could, hair neck, shoulder. It didn't matter. He was fighting the urge to kiss her. "G'night..." With that, he let out a huge sigh and yawned hard before his eyes fully slipped closed.

Laine sighed quietly with a roll of her eyes. He'd tell her eventually... "Oh my god..." She huffed, ushering him towards the middle of the bed so they weren't haphazardly hanging off the side. Laine tugged on the comforter as best she could from her position and dragged it over Kor. Laine settled in with a sigh, stroking the top of his head. Yeah there wasn't a lot of hair for her to run her fingers through but still. "G'night hon.." She said softly, kissing him even softer before settling in for the wait.
