“Are you going to make an awful face if I say yes?” Xander grinned. “Cause I don’t want you to be sick right after eating, I did a very good job on that sandwich I’ll have you know!” “And um… yeah, we did a trial kiss right after he asked. I guess he was talking to a friend he made and they gave him the courage to just… say it. See? I didn’t even make you wait for me to get back.” He gently ‘punched’ Jace’s arm. “If I wasn’t already planning on a date, I’d as how you’re last to hang out with Holden went.” He gave a quick side-eye, he might be personally oblivious, but -everyone- knew Holden liked Jace. EVERYONE….well, except… Jace.

Jace wrinkled his nose and groaned when Xander punched him, but it was hardly something he put any effort into. He sighed heavily and recoiled lazily, resting against the wall; he almost looked like he was pouting as he chewed the bite in his mouth.
"A trial kiss," he repeated, like he'd eaten something disgusting. "Gross, Xander. Now any time I share drinks with you I'll have to think about where your mouth has been."
He didn't even think to mention the marshmallows he'd shared with Holden.
Another dramatic sigh. "But. Since you're already planning on a date, there's no reason to ask about Holden, is there?" he raised a brow. "It was normal. Well. No, we started sneezing snowflakes, I guess that was odd. And then he fell in the snow. We came back here to warm up for a bit, but then it was the usual. Pizza, some television. What's that got to do with anything? He's loud enough, you'd know if we got into trouble. It would be all over the group chat."

Kyuseisha no Hikari Xander shook his head and looked amused. “If you mean, he makes sounds like someone goosed a guinea pig when he gets spooked? Yeah… he’s got some volume on him. Definitely, something to think of when you two find ways to entertain yourselves.” He looked thoughtful about the sneezing snowflakes though. “…Sneezing snow is a bit odd, we found bunnies! Um… in the park, lots of little white ones, they were super friendly and super soft?” He reached over and patted Jace’s arm. “I will fill you in on… at least MOST of the ‘gross’ details including kisses, so you know how much to worry about how much to worry about when we share drinks!”

Jace groaned. "If that's your way of trying to make me kick you out of the house so you can get to your date, you can just go," he grumbled, reaching out his foot to playfully kick at Xander, pushing him just a bit towards the door.
"I regret even asking, I should have just let you sneak around and make a fool of yourself trying to come up with explanations. Ugh." He didn't mean it, and even with as tired and cranky as he was, it was clear that he didn't seem to have any actual hard feelings.
"...Tell Nelson I said hi, I guess. And don't get into any trouble. I mean. Well, you'll be with Nelson, I'm sure he'll be the voice of reason."
He was quiet for a moment.
"...I hope. And. I wouldn't be mad if you maybe brought me back a boba or something, whenever you head back. If you want."

“I will not only make sure to get you Boba I will find you some kind of awesome snack as well!” He promised. “And I will spare you any details…” He laughed and let himself be pushed towards the door. “Hey… let me know if things go off okay? If you need a rescue… I’m here you know? I’d do a hell of a lot to make sure you were happy and safe.”

Jace briefly faltered but caved with an, "I know, Xander. I know. And the feeling's mutual. I don't need any rescuing, though. I mean. You already made me food, so you saved me from starvation. And I'm going to go study for a little more and get some rest, so that's all thanks to you. I mean, I'm going to blame you for feeling like my brain exploded, but maybe it was feeling that way a little bit already."
One breath in, one breath out. He smiled, and clasped him on the shoulder before giving him a little squeeze. "Go have a good time, Xander. Don't worry about me. And--don't worry about mom finding out. You know I wouldn't breathe a word of this to her. So go out, go have fun. If you ever need me to cover for you, let me know."
