"Carrots are not that much fun." She knew he loved them but she was ambivalent at best.
"Sardines, I want sardines, at least there is a ready source of them. That one fisherman the tall one, he has the best sardines in town." Hint hint, nudge nudge.
She gave him the look. "Don't let me forget them tomorrow, its the best time of year too."
Fish was just good period.

Kiyelt rolled his eyes. So it started. He actually enjoyed it when she was demanding it made him feel good to provide for her. She so seldom asked for it otherwise that he always felt she deserved more than she took for herself. Then again, he made a lot more money too and perhaps he was forgetting how hard he had to work when he was just starting out for the basic living expenses.
He had not lived quite so plushly back then. There had been quite a bit of hard ground sleeping while he was finding himself.
"Sardines for you, I shall not forget." Sardines were better than squid.

Nin dragged him into the house to find their kids. It was dinner time and everyone better be ready. She got the last few things ready after thunking Kiyelt down in a chair where she could serve him properly.
He had never had that great of a sense of time. But she could understand that when he was working with an animal. However dinner was only truly hot once.
He needed to eat to keep up his strength so she was always there to remind him.

He sighed with pure glee, she had made his favorite, yum so good! He heartily started to shovel it down, it was hot but that was okay because it felt like it blazed life right back into him. He had been more tired and hungry than he thought.
Nin took care of the whole family it was only right that someone take care of her too.
It was time to take some time off work to really help her out. He loved that time with the kids too.
"Nin this is deliscious."

"This? It's just one of dads old recipes like I told you last time. Nothing beats a truly hearty stew after a long hard day of work, he used to say. I say squid beats stew but to each their own."
She winked at him before plunging her own spoon in. Eventually the kids would realize that food was on the table and they would come in. She had just taken a bit too long to fetch their father. Little did they know what they were in for. A brand new sibling or two!
