"Firefly, we've checked everything short of the skyscrapers. Your sister and I are even checking to see if any of the Mauvian's have seen her lately. We figured she's in the company of one, if she's keeping her signature this hidden. Nami's resorted to enlisting that weird blonde Corrupt Laine's typically with. The bird one?" Kraven shrugged. He didn't know many of Laine's friends, even less of who she knew in the Negaverse. "She'll be found when she wants us to find her. She's uh, kinda learned from the best on that front."

Kraven rolled his eyes with a sigh. "And then what? Are either of you going to actually talk? Or are you guys going to stand there awkwardly and pray you could suddenly vanish on the spot? On top of that how do you plan to find her? Not much you can do as a civilian unless you plan to try other means. Not that my opinion matters here but that's the last thing you should be doing." Kraven pulled Kor against him, holding as tight as he dared. "I'll let you know as soon as we hear anything... And If we find her, I'll come get you."

Kor ignored every word telling him his efforts would be in vain. Kor fought against Kraven's hold and got up, pulling out his phone. His efforts weren't the strongest, but he was trying and wouldn't stop until Kraven let him up.

Of course he would have her number memorized. Without anymore words and only a little hesitation, Kor would enter Laine's number and then hit call, waiting to see if she'd pick up. For him.

Please.

Laine, please.

Pick up.

Kray groaned when Kor pulled free. Typical. "You know, most people don't react like this towards an ex." He grumbled... Maybe he was bitter he was never on the receiving end of that. Kray stood with a sigh and walked up behind Kor, resting his hands on the shorter man's shoulders. A silent confirmation that he had the man's back and he was there for him.

---

The phone rang, the ringtone alerting its owner that someone, a particular someone was calling. They let it go up until the last second, where they hit the answer button before setting the phone down. There was no 'hello' or various form of greeting. Just silence between two people as sounds of the city passed between them.

HA DID YOU EXPECT HER TO TALK KOR?

He nearly gave up. Laine wasn't going to answer. Swallowing down the lump of disappointment, he just waited. And then she picked up. Kor jumped, physically jumped and he listened.

Not a word.

"That's okay," he whispered to the phone, to Laine. "You don't gotta say anything... Hey, heard you been hiding pretty good... Everyone's worried. I'm... I'm worried." Of course Kor thought it was odd he hadn't seen her, even in passing, after all this time. They frequented the same places before this. He thought he'd ....at least in time.

"You always were good at hiding. You... You should let them find you. Please. If anything was to happen to you... Let 'em find you, love. Or come to me...

......God I miss you."

And he waited, wondering what she'd do. What she'd say.

Kraven gave Kor's shoulder's a gentle squeeze before backing off and taking a seat on the couch again. He sat quietly, keeping his comments and thoughts to himself. Anything he had to say wouldn't matter at this point anyway. Kor would get what he wanted, one way or another. At this point there was no stopping it.

---

She said nothing. Just sighed. Of course she'd been ratted out. Honestly she was beginning to wonder when they would go running off to someone. Though, it was surprising who they had gotten... Had he come out of hiding, or had they found him.

Of course she was hiding. What was the point of being around any of them. Besides, she learned from the best. Not like the best was going to come find her. That had already been made loud and clear.

She sighed as she picked up the phone and hit the end button without another thought.

--

"I don't know wether to be surprised she answered, or pissed that she answered." Kraven scowled from the couch. It figures she'd answer for Kor. Not like the rest of them didn't give a damn about her. His phone went off, and he pulled it from his pocket before his scowl deepened. "Oh. And there's the not so vague threats against my humanity." Kraven said flatly, tossing the phone to the other end of the ********. The lot of em.

"She also said stop looking. She'll find us."

The tears he'd been fighting had come out again and he knew he was going to be left completely dehydrated and wrung out by the time Derek got back. She didn't say a word to him. Kor expected it and yet it hurt in a way he didn't know what to do with. That hole he thought couldn't get any worse, did, and he just sank into the couch next to Kraven, not touching him.

But then she contacted Kraven and Kor let out a whining sob before he collapsed to one side and just curled in on himself.

Too many emotions too fast after nothing but depression. He was so drained already. Every fiber of him wanted to go looking for her. He had a couple ideas where she could be, but honestly? Her habits could have changed. Kor wasn't physically well enough to go search for hours for her.

He sent the number a text.

"I'm sorry I failed you."

If she replied, he wouldn't know right away. He texted Derek afterward that he was home, a friend was with him, and he was having a bad day so he was turning his phone off. Then he did just that, turned the whole thing off and tossed it onto the table to ignore until tomorrow. The tears hadn't stopped. His head was hurting, he felt emotionally raw and dragged through a cheese grater.

"....Sorry, Kray. I..I didn't want... anyone to see me.."

Nope. Okay. He was done. Kraven stood the second Kor collapsed onto the couch and marched off to the bedroom before returning with a blanket. He manhandled the shorter man till him situated in the blanket how he wanted him.

"You didn't fail anyone." He said, as if he'd seen the text. "Not Me, not Laine. Not River. And you're not failing, or going to fail Derek." He said as he tucked the blanket under Kor before sitting on the floor next to the couch and tossing his arm over his friend.

"Don't." He said, cutting the man off. "You have nothing to apologize for. No one's mad at you." ...Well, Nami might be once she finds Kor, but that's a subject for another time. Kraven rolled his eyes with a scuff. "What? See you cry? At your weakest?" Or rather, one of his weakest points. Kraven shrugged. "Ain't nothing I haven't seen before. Nothing we ain't been through before." Kray leaned on Kor as much as he dared. A familiar presence, a familiar weight. They'd been through worse, together. They'd get through this together too. "We're all here for you, Firefly. We love you."

As Kraven went to the bedroom he shared with Derek, he could see more about the other that lived with Kor. A few scattered clothes, but it was mainly clean. There were a couple of pictures of Derek thumbtacked to the wall hastily, none of them in frames. All the frames were empty, in fact, or face down on the tables. The ones that were face down contained images of Laine he couldn't bring himself to take down or put away any more than he had.

Kor let Kraven manhandle him the way he wanted, drained and trying to stop the tears. It was a fairly futile attempt, the tears just silently slipping even as Kraven settled on him, anchoring the man to the here and now, though he wanted to go back in time.

"....River died... it's my fault. 'f ...'f I stayed away from him he'd be alive... Laine.. wouldn't disappear. You..." He just pulled one of the pillows over his head, hiding himself further.

If only the couch would eat him. Stop the misery.

We love you.

Yep. Just eat him alive. In the most painful way he deserved.

"S-subject change." He desperately needed one. "Please."

Kraven just sighed as he half laid on Kor, acting like a weighted blanket. He hoped he was giving the other man some sort of security, a feeling of grounding, but he felt like he was just making things worse. "It's not." He said flatly. He rolled his eyes again. "I still woulda followed you around, just like I always did." Just like he always does.

"Fine..." He grumbled, laying his head against the blanket. "What do you wanna talk about??"

Slowly Kor's hands came out to play with Kraven's hair. He let the silence stretch on as he tried to think of anything to talk about. The added weight did help calm him down. It wasn't long before his breathing wasn't ragged from crying and was more normal, and his eyes were half opened as sleep was creeping up on him from his emotional outbursts.

"How's the boyfriend? Longest relationship you've been in. Beat out all mine." He gave a little smile then, self deprecating humor was how he dealt with things. "Gotta be happy though... to last this long. Should just m-marry him."

Well, that wasn't expected.

Kray sat in silence as Kor played his hair. He watched as fingers cut through the blue, twisting it this way and that. Kray let out a content little sigh, relaxing more against the side of the couch.

Kor's words cut through him like a knife... One that was promptly shoved in his back and twisted. "He's... good. He's good... Kaz has to do some bouncing back and forth between here and his family occasionally..." He shrugged lightly. "Tch... I've known you longer. Doesn't beat that one out." He said, giving Kor a pointed look.

His gaze dropped to the ground. "Yeah... I've... I've thought about it, but..." But what? He'd probably ******** it up for starters. Not to mention he was likely a dead man after this. Kray shrugged again.

"You got me there," Kor said with a light tone. Then he just listened to Kraven and sniffled before he nodded. "Marriage is..." He hadn't been married. He'd been engaged. Still, even getting to that point wasn't easy and it was, "terrifying honestly."

The darker man shrugged his shoulders and watched his friend's face, looking him over as if committing him to memory. He had done that years ago. He could feel Kraven's face and be able to tell who it was. This man who weaved in and out of his life, showing up when Kor would need him the most. Who he took advantage of. Kraven, who Kor felt like he was stringing along. God, Kor didn't deserve anything he had in his life, did he? All these kind people who care and all he does is try to end it all.

Nope. Okay back on the lighter side of the day.

Kor shifted, pulling Kraven by the hair to angle their heads up. He pressed his lips against the taller man's once, just a flutter of what they used to share.

"How are you doing? Enough 'bout me. How's... your head?"

"Mmmm.." Kraven hummed, distracted by the fingers playing in his hair. "Intimidating is probably a better would for it..." He chuckled lightly. "I seem to remember a time and place when we would have done quite a few things before even considering that."

Kor was staring at him, hard. He raised a curious brow in response before his attention was snagged with a tug on his hair. He seemed to perk up, like a cat who just saw something dart by.

Oh.

" 's cheatin..." He muttered against Kor's lips. Right, like he hadn't said ******** it just a little while ago and practically done the same thing. "Could be better..." Could be worse. "Head's saying a few things right now." Not that he was listening. He still hadn't moved from Kor's space. Still where he'd been dragged too.

Kor's smile faded at those words and he stared into Kraven's eyes. Back and forth, flicking from one the other before kissing him again. The man hadn't moved. This time Kor didn't keep it chaste. He deepened it; started to get greedy with his teeth and lips before slowly drawing away again. Sometimes actions made the negative thoughts stop and offered a moment of clarity. ....Though sometimes you just really wanted to kiss your best friend.

Even if Kor's head was starting to throb, and the pain of crying headache was upon him, he just pressed his forehead against Kray's and breathed in deep. He just shared air with Kraven for a minute, letting the other pull away if he needed to.

"I'm here." He said over and over again, in between kisses. A promise, a reassurance, a plea. "I never left... I'll always be here." Throwing what caution he still had left to the wind, Kray shifted, scooping Kor into his lap and holding him tightly. "I... I love you." He said, his breathe catching as he tried to come down from the high he was now currently on. Kor knew that of course, he'd known that for years. "Never stopped...." Probably against better judgement.
