Enya ll 6

The little elidae nodded her head. Whatever this lady needed to help her mama she would get! Keeping her motivated and close by was helping to ease some of her tension, even if all she wanted to do was to see her mother again.

She held onto the vine; not because she thought it would fall but mostly so she wouldn't wring her hands. Seeing the other elarian disappear underground caused her heart to leap into her throat. What if she didn't come back too? "Be careful," Enya murmured.

Pyrrha ll 6

"Take it slow!" Pyrrha called up. The last thing they needed was two injured elaria at the bottom of this pit. She sat up a little straighter, if for no other reason than to reposition her leg and craned her head upwards to watch the other's decent. She didn't recognize the voice at first and was only vaguely aware of the other's existence when she came into sight. Pyrrha was sure she must have seen her in passing, but honestly, names tended to slip from her.

"Yes, of course." It wasn't as if she were in a position to deny her, anyway. So long as help was coming her way Pyrrha was ready to take it.

"Okay." Shikoba nodded before taking a moment to glance upwards and call out. "I made it down safely! Just try to gather some long pieces of dry bark and the like for me?" If she gave the little one something easy to do maybe that would help keep her occupied and away from panic. It would also help Shikoba if she had to make a brace, something which looked more and more likely the closer she got to the other Elaria.

Crouching down closer to the the Elaria, Shikoba pursed her lips. "I'm not an experienced healer but I was taught a thing or two....does the bone feel dislocated or was it a clean snap?" She asked quietly as she carefully traced a finger around the edges of the leg to check for any sign of a bone. Even if the leg was twisted at an angle it thankfully didn't look like the bone had broken through skin so maybe she could realign the pieces and secure the injury with a brace before pulling up the Sister.

Enya ll 7

"OKAY." Without really knowing whether or not the lady could hear her Enya screamed as loud as she could. "Long pieces of dry bark...long pieces of dry bark..." She murmured and went off in search of materials. Seeing as they were in an almost wetland it was harder than the lady made it out to be! Every bit of bark was still stuck on the trees and no matter how hard Enya tugged she couldn't break off any pieces bigger than her hands. She needed a different approach.

Pursing her lips the little elidae looked around. She explored the area with a faint hum, her fevered mind put to work on something productive until finally she spotted a dead tree. The bark off it was HUGE; almost as big as a sled! "Perfect!" Enya chirped. She pulled off the biggest piece she could find and started to drag it back to the hole.

"I FOUND IT." With a hearty chuck the young elidae tossed the bark down into the hole. After all, her mother had told her not to get close.

Pyrrha ll 7

"It's definitely broken." Pyrrha grimaced. Unlike a lot of her sisters she may not have gotten many injuries growing up, thanks to her avoidance of training, but she did still know what a broken bone felt like. Her hand hovered over the quickly swelling appendage and motioned toward the spot that clearly had the break. "So long as it's splinted it should be - " When the thick, heavy bark SLAPPED onto the ground so dangerously close to them Pyrrha cried out in surprise. She'd barely even had time to acknowledge her daughter's voice before the thing crashed down with them!

"Goddess help me, If I make it out of this without a few grey dreads I'll be lucky," she murmured so low only Shikoba could have heard. "I'm happy she's not crying anymore, but that was too close..."

Oh Elzira! Shikoba let out a gasp whenever the bark came crashing down towards them. Thankfully it was mostly hollow and so whenever she tilted her body forward to block the injured Elaria it only made her wince a little when a piece or two connected with her back. She would definitely be feeling that in the morning but at least it hadn't broken anything else. "If we make it out of this." Quipped back Shikoba almost playfully before she yelled upwards. "Thank you little one! Just stand guard and we'll be up shortly!" The Elaria shook her head before slowly bending down to study the broken leg.

"I suppose I underestimated how helpful she was going to be with my request." Mused Shikoba with a quiet chuckle as she reached over to grab a piece of the bark. Studying the injury she measured it with her hand, her fingers stretching out to try and get a gist of how much bark she would need for a splint, and then the Elaria carefully snapped a piece into shape. "Good thing that I'm fairly decent with crafting." She murmured as she quickly got to work shaping the splint pieces. Whenever she was ready she held them up and carefully slid them along the other Elaria's legs. "Let me know if it feels too tight... She began as she got the bark in place and started with some extra vines that she had on hand to wrap them around the leg.

Pyrrha ll 8

"Are you alright?" While Pyrrha was sure the other elarian wouldn't end up as injured as she was a scrap in this kind of situation could be just as bad. They had no way of knowing how long the water at the bottom of this cavern had sat without moving or what kind of sickness you could get from it.

Pyrrha gave a short, breathless laugh. "She loves being helpful." Even if it meant doing more harm than good. Pyrrha couldn't deny that the more the other Elaria started to work on her splint the more nervous she became. It was coming, whether she liked it or not, so there was no need to get so worked up. Instead, she tried to calm herself by slowing her breathing, but there was no hiding the hiss that slipped out as soon as her leg started being manipulated. Her entire body tensed and Pyrrha had to resist the urge to pull her leg away. "I'm fine, just do what you need to."

Enya ll 8

It landed! She felt a little more confident in their situation now that she was helping, but Enya was still far too nervous to get close to the edge of the hole. She kept looking at it as if they two would magically fly out of it at any moment and when they didn't the child couldn't help feeling disappointed.

Stand guard? "CAN DO!" Enya shouted back and stood at attention. As long as she did her best and made sure nothing came to the hole then everything would be fine. A noise to her left made the child jump and for a moment she thought she might have to get physical, but it was only a rodent scurrying around.

You got off lucky.

"Alright." Shikoba gave a firm nod as she tightened the vines and tied them into place around the brace. "Here." Once she finished tying the knots, Shikoba dug around in a small pouch around her waist and held out some plant roots towards Pyrrha's lips. "Chew on these and it should help numb the pain a little while we get you out of here." The plant had a good calming effect and she just prayed it was enough to make this climb back up to the surface easier on the other Elaria.

"Enya! Shikoba called up as she tightened the vines and started checking the sides of their little cave to map out a path upwards in her mind. "There's nothing major up there, everything look okay for us to climb soon?" Her antenna twitched as she tried to get a good sense but it was hard to see from so far below. She just hoped that Elzira gave her the strength to tug the other Elaria upwards.

Pyrrha ll 9

Pyrrha didn't need to be told twice. She took the plant roots almost greedily after the way her small ache had turned into a near constant burn. As much as she just wanted to focus on other things, maybe allow her mind to wander like it usually did when life got too rough, she couldn't. Between the pain itself and her worry over her daughter Pyrrha was kept against her will in the present.

Thankfully the numbing effect was starting to kick it. Little by little the burn was starting to ebb away. "Once we get out of here, leave us in a safe spot and go back for help. I'm too heavy for you to carry all that way...especially after this."

Enya ll 9

Oh! The little elidae snapped to attention and got as close to the cavern as she dared. "Yes? I'm right here!" Did everything look alright to climb? "Hold on, let me check!" Enya stepped away to first look at the vines and then to give a cursory once over of her surroundings. Everything looked fine to her, but the opening was a little slippery. That might give them some problems.

"IT'S GOOD, BUT THE SPOT AT THE EDGE IS REALLY MUDDY SO BE CAREFUL."

Shikoba nodded. "It sounds like a good plan. I'm a fast runner so I won't take long." She just had to get the other Elaria out of the hole first. What if it started to rain after all? Shikoba didn't even want to think about the chances of the edges collapsing on the other woman. All she could do was focus on getting them moving and fast. Once everything was in place Shikoba tugged the other Elaria towards her. "Just hang onto me and try to keep your legs straight, I'll pull us out." She gave a firm tug on the vines just to check before calling out once more.

"I'm coming up now - just keep an eye on the vine for me! If they even look like they're giving away step back and yell out a warning!" Hopefully though it would be okay. Shikoba knew that the vines she picked were sturdy and she was hopeful that she wasn't wrong in her decision to rely on them. Ever so slowly she positioned herself to help the other Elaria onto her back. "Up we go." She murmured as she placed a foot against a wedge of crystals to prepare herself for the tough climb ahead. As long as everything went well she would be able to pull them out of this hole. Just one step at a time...

Pyrrha ll 10

I hope you're right. Pyrrha moved as much as she could to take some of the pressure off the other elaria and held on as tightly as possible. While she wasn't exactly clinging to her she was also somewhat limited in how she could hold on due to her leg. The movement itself made her woozy, likely due in part to her head wound and the numbing root, so once she was settled Pyrrha closed her eyes.

Movement was awkward to say the least. Being carried by another was a surreal experience, but Pyrrha did as she was told. She kept her legs as straight as possible and tried to stay calm. Admittedly it was made much easier thanks to the pain suppressant in her system. "I'm Pyrrha, by the way. I don't think we ever made it to that part."

Enya ll 10

Skootching a little closer to the ledge, Enya crouched low and watched. Her bright eyes traveled from the vine that hung just over the lip, all the way up to the tree where it was wrapped around. She knew the instant that the two started to ascend because one moment it was slack against the ground and the next it was pulled tight. For a second she was scared it might break, but so far so good.

Still...it couldn't hurt to check. Enya picked herself up and moved closer to the tree. It was definitely working hard, but it was still holding. Any minute now they would pop up and everything would be okay....

"Shikoba." She managed her name when they finally collapsed on the ground outside of the cave. Shikoba definitely wanted to investigate that area but for now she was focused on helping out Pyrrha. Taking a moment to calm her breathing and to get her shaking limbs under control, Shikoba slowly but surely pushed herself from the ground and made certain that Pyrrha was properly situated before turning away. "Keep an eye on her, Enya." She instructed firmly. "She can't move right now but if anything comes near just yell loudly so we can hear, okay? I'll be right back." Shikoba glanced over both Aishans one final time before shoving herself back onto her feet and racing towards the encampment.

Hang in there. I'll come back with help soon. She promised as she darted away into the forest.
