Silistra blinked she hadn't thought to try to summon and dismiss her weapon. "How did you do that?" Silistra made a sound thinking and then she said "I don't think I want to avoid the war, but if I can avoid battles as much as possible I would prefer it, I feel like I am more suited to helping others than hurting others." She said softly. She nodded "I would like to avoid danger if I can, I'm not very brave." She said in a soft tone. "So how did you learn to be a knight? Do you know how to find a mentor?"

Mamertine exhaled again, a breath he didn't realize he'd been holding.
"No. I don't know of anyone that's serving as a mentor. I learned on my own. We can...help you find someone who might be a better teacher than I am. In the meantime, I can do my best."
Where to start? He knew he wasn't the best option. He cared more about achieving his own personal goals than he did about fighting in someone else's war.
"If you want to dismiss your weapon, you just have to think of it--and then think of it fading. Like putting it away in a cabinet. And then when you want it again, you just think about having it again. You are in control of it. And, when we are out of here, it's the same to go back to whoever you are beneath 'Silistra'. You must imagine the clothes you were wearing. When you power up, you will summon your weapon to you and think about this," he gestured to her. "To being Silistra. It isn't so very hard. you'll get used to it. You don't have to fight, though."
...She would get hurt. She didn't seem like she would be able to take care of herself.
"...You can still help others, even if you don't want to fight. Sometimes there are little monsters that appear. Youma. People who don't have magic don't have the same advantage. But they disappear if you can defeat the monster. It's fighting, but. It's better than someone innocent getting hurt, isn't it? Like stepping on a bug, on a wasp that's trying to sting you. Can you do that?"

Silistra smiled and she thought of sending her weapon away and it disappeared. "Wow." She said softly "Thank you, at least that is a start, you have given me a great deal more information than I had before." Silistra thought a moment "If it means saving someone who can't defend themselves then I suppose I would have to, I don't want anyone to get hurt badly." She said in her normal tone. "I don't think we are going to find a way out this way." She said in a frustrated tone. No matter how far they went the village was still in view.

Mamertine nodded. "...No, to be honest, I'm not sure there's a way out. I'll keep looking for some flaw in whatever trap is keeping us here. But I'm thinking it's time for lunch. If anything is going to happen, I want to make sure that I've got enough strength to handle it. I've got some soup cooking," he offered.
"If you want, I can pour you a bowl. I can't guarantee that it's good, but it's food. I can go over some more things with you, if you want to keep talking? ...If you want time to process, that's fine, too. I know it's a lot to take in at once."

Silistra sighed and then said "I hope we find a way out, I don't think I want to stay here and stay powered up forever." She looked a bit nervous about sitting down to lunch with him just yet and she did have a lot to think about at this point. "Thank you but I think I do want some time to myself to think and try to come to terms with everything." She said softly "Perhaps another time." She said her tone a bit stiff and nervous. She turned to move away, she still needed to find a house to stay in anyway.

He nodded. "All right. If you change your mind, I'm in a house up there," he pointed, and though he couldn't quite see it, it was still somewhat nearby. "It's got circle windows, and a weedy little garden next to it. There's a willow try right by the front of it. If you've got questions, come find me. I'll try to keep an eye out for you as long as you want it."
At the very least, for as long as they were here. She wasn't his responsibility, he knew that, but he felt obligated to offer some assistance.
It was the right thing to do. He didn't want her out here on her own.
