In truth, given it was Garret and Kai here...it was very easy to be less confident and outspoken than this particular duo. He had internally rated Ylva just a bit higher due to her words when she did speak; seeming to lack the nervousness of Blue. But...He still did not think Blue to be meek. He could respect that she spoke her thoughts, even if it seemed like she needed to make an effort of it to a degree. 'I'm glad Aurtrox gave us such interesting students; I wonder that much is coincidence too or not. A Yowlumne I was seeking, and one familiar to the Hound.' He mused silently to himself. He knew very little ever escaped Aurtrox's eye; and the man seemed to have tabs on everyone. Garret was not one to look a gift horse in the mouth though; be it coincidental or no, this was an opportunity he would use if he could. Depending how the students fared down there at least; the wolf would be his first interaction with one from that Tribe. Hopefully, she represented them well enough for him to know if there was a possibility to work together in future. Garret would be shaken out of such thoughts though on hearing Kai comment when he heard the situation. As expected, going straight to blaming headmaster as well; though Garret had honestly been curious on why Aurtrox didn't have anyone do such a mission sooner. Knowing the man...he may have been trying to make it a lesson and point to the students but Garret couldn't be sure. His attention would then be Blue's response on her and Wolf's role, along with purpose, on such a mission. Trying to maintain eye contact with her as he gave her his attention; while he would never say it, he did agree with her. Numbers always helped things out though...Numbers also meant people may get sentimental or feel the need to play the hero. Which was a role reserved for Garret alone; he was not going to let such things repeat in his life if he could help it. So he merely remained silent to that, giving her a slight nod, but not saying anything else to it. 'You are in the school to learn to fight with others. I have learned to go a different path and yet...' He thought to himself, knowing that would have to change in future. If he wanted Vacuo back...it could not be alone, as he told the Hound. But it would not be easy to change his own nature.
Having moved on from such a topic to their own capabilities, the Hound would thankfully do so rather than resist. Garret having been unsure if he truly would have listened to Garret having him go next or purposefully not to make a minor point. Watching, despite having an idea himself, as the Hound explained his weaponry and that he was not limited to his weapons range. Curious on what a kuntai was as he mentioned it; having not heard of such a weapon. Though Hound was someone that strived for perfection in battle; so he assumed his words would be similarly picked, even if he often devolved to insults. 'At least he warned them.' Garret thought as the Hound mentioned not to get in his way or they would get hit; something that did make sense on the battlefield as once he attacked, there was no stopping it. Even if perhaps him deciding he would take on targets alone may not always work out; divide and conquer could be what helped push them to victory depending how many Grimm were there. And of course...he finished off with an aura slash that damaged one of the school walls a bit. Garret was honestly not surprised he did, nor did he care too much either; it was just a wall. If it helped make the point, it was fine as it was an easy fix. Or so Garret thought at least. He would then go to mention semblances, something Garret purposefully left out. Though he was more emphasizing that he would not say what it could do except that he could heal...but did not want to as he wanted to save his aura for the Grimm. Making Garret recall him helping patch him up when they had finished off the last of the beowolves in the outskirt on their first meeting; he wondered how much stronger Kai had grown since then. Both in his ability to fight and in his healing. Once done, he would single out Blue to go next.
Golden eyes resting on the student, he would watch as she wielded and transformed her weapon; explaining it to be a glaive that could become shotguns and axes. One form reminding Garret of his own weapons, even if a glaive was wielded much different than a spear. Though a nice looking weapon nonetheless, and it was good she seemed well-versed in it. She would explain how she had brought eight dust and then some normal rounds; standard rations for the school and many others save perhaps the military at least. He wasn't sure who else would have access to more, save Aurtrox since he was the one who distributed it to the students in a way. As she explained her semblance next, Garret would take a keen interest. Gravity traps, for both lack of and an excess, was a very useful thing indeed. There were many possibilities and uses for it; be it on allies or enemies. It was a bit of a shame for her to seem nervous as she finished; she did well, and seemed to have a semblance that could give them an edge in the likely battles to come. She would quickly go on to say she had first medical items and first aid ones if the need arose and to not hesitate to ask for it; a stark contrast to the Hound's earlier comment in regards to healing. Though his offer, if it could be called that, was more for something basic medical supplies and first aid likely could not do in the field. Both would have their uses, which was good to have at least some backup in case one of them happened to be the injured party. Garret would remain silent for the time being; letting things sink in slowly and unhurried as Blue would allow for the Wolf to go next.
Wolf would step away before drawing her weapon; a dual-bladed spear. Garret was a bit biased to her weapon over the others just because as it base it was dual-spears together as one; almost like his style, though his spears could not join. Nodding to her as she looked to him before she would begin to skillfully twirl it above her as the speared ends would turn to scythes and back again; the soft clink of her chains as she moved the weapon. Once finished with her display, she would go on to list what she was good at. Dual-wielding being of particular note to Garret as he wondered if she were as good at it as he was but did not comment for the moment as he listened to her other abilities. Then she would offer a bit on her semblance; that to surprise her leads to blindness. A bit vague, but good to know nonetheless; though he wondered if her being in front as the eyes of the group would be wise if she were to be caught off guard by Grimm. That could lead to the group being blinded. 'Perhaps it may be wise to have an alternative source of light than her.' He thought to himself, even if he had planned an alternative light source potentially. He had been on the fence for it earlier due to it being a easy beacon for Grimm but; 'They can see in the dark regardless.' He silently thought. Though with Wolf finishing, Garret would step forward as he felt her eyes on him.
Moving to be in front of them, Garret would look them each in the eyes before addressing them all. "I've see the Hound fight before, but it shall be interesting to see how the rest of you do as well. Your semblances seem useful...Gravity control can be key in tight confines. Especially if the enemy has to come to us. Though Wolf...if your semblance is blinding and activates by surprise, it may be better if you were behind us then. So that in the event of a surprise, we are not blinded if that is how your power works." He would say and pause a moment, to allow them to speak if they so desired in relation to it, before continuing. "Now that we are acquainted and have a rough measure of one another's abilities, it seems time to depart." He would simply say as a small rumble could be heard. A forklift-sized machine would come forth, seeming to have no designated controller, and stop by the manhole. Extending a metal tube roughly as wide as the manhole itself; it would attach to it and begin to lift up...and up, and up as the man hole seemed much thicker than it need be. Perhaps a measure by Aurtrox to stem the problem a bit more till they went down there. Eventually, after about ten seconds, the giant manhole/ column would be moved off and to the side; revealing the sewer, and subsequent smell, to the team. Garret would walk over to the back of the machine and take out a bag from it; something he had arranged from before. He wouldn't reveal what was inside it quite yet though; just strapped it to his back. Wrinkling his nose slightly from the smell of the sewer as he got near it, but not letting it bother him more than that, he would give a small bow. "I shall see you all below; we can organize our arrangement once down there. Be prepared; we could have Grimm eagerly awaiting us." He would say with a smile before turning and descending down the ladder; going down in a quick slide to the floor. Taking a few steps away and out of sight from the surface as he looked around the dark tunnel and began to dig something out of the pack.

❝Be Prepared, or expect Death's hand to grab you ❞
She was getting a lot better at this speaking up thing. Or was it becoming more natural instead of the blue-haired maiden. While impressed with the growth, compliments at this time were unfortunately postponed. She was not seeing the trees from the forest. Yes, they were huntsmen or huntsmen in training but it all goes back to the training how they are taught. If a repeated pattern is produced, then the shade speaks for itself. "What could you possibly mean by that? The handling of the problem now is adequate. I doubt it was his idea to summon me here. Was more Garrot's idea I am sure. Yet the problem wouldn't need such an insurance policy (referring to him and Garret) if the mission was ever picked up. You are learning to be huntsmen. If you are scared to arise to the challenge then you are not worth a damn on the battlefield. I rather have scaredy-cat who at least tries instead of a coward who avoids. As far as school. Giving it the excuse that it can only do so much is just allowing the organization to deny accountability. I do agree part of it is on the huntsmen but if the school sees that there is no potential there or that it's not going to be on an adequate level where the student will be useful without getting themselves or others killed then the school needs to make the hard decision of eliminating the problem." Kai spoke sternly but he didn't demand the blue maiden but simply offered a counterpoint. Of course, Kai could be seen as the bully as he was always confident and sharp with his words. "We can disagree. But the truth is somewhere in the middle. This situation is long overdone." He would add before letting the conversation rest. He would not comment on the Shade academy call back. It wasn't worth another deep conversation. Well, it was more he felt that could lead to a deep conversation and the time for that was not now.
As he explained his abilities, he was sure he probably confused them. His semblance wasn't technically on display yet. That was just what he could do thanks to his blade and aura. However, that secret would remain for him and the hounds. He also was intrigued no one commented on the Kuntai. Kunai would be the word someone would most likely think of but considering Kai was pretty particular with his words, one would think they would point out the mistake. Maybe the ones who caught on were too scared? Or figured they would wait and see. A Kuntai was Kai's nickname for a razor wire tied kunai. Most people probably didn't even know he had those types of weapons because he never got a chance to display them much in a fight. Past battles he has been in, the setting wasn't right to use them. Maybe he could hear. Smirking a little, he would listen to the other two go. He promised to train her but never had the chance to be able to get things done given circumstances. Hearing about her semblance and weaponry, he took a deeper interest in the Maiden. Gravity he thought to himself. The traps could be a great asset. Plus she had her own medkit which was great because the threshold needed for Kai to use his semblance on a person was pretty high.
Moving on to the babysitter, Kai had a small prejudice against her just because of the challenging way she combatted verbally against him. It wasn't in a negative light. Was more in the light he had Garrot in but not as playful. Not yet at least because she still needed to earn his respect. Things were going well until got to her semblance. An issue. Garrot I swear to hell, you better solve it. Or I will come up with a plan myself to Just the thought of being in mid-combat and being flashed pissed Kai off a little. He definitely...did not want her taking the lead but it was also an issue that she was the only faunus. No one else had something to assist in the dark. Watching as Garrot took the lead and addressed them. He would take this time to put on his helmet to his Hakumen suit obscuring his face and being fully armored up. He vouched for Kai, which Kai simply just coughed in response. He was at least content that Garrot brought up the whole blinding the team issue that could occur and went ahead to have it addressed before they went in. He did not know what he had planned, but he hoped it was good.
Hearing the rumble, it seemed that was the signal that things were about to get started. "Consider this the start of your training officially. But don't let that add extra pressure to what you already have going on. Don't let your path to freedom escape you" Kai commented to Sass before going in after Garrot. Descending down the ladder, he was curious about what they were going to run into. He ain't hear a spear stabbing or growls yet. Still, It would be just their luck if a pack of grim were waiting on them. Making it to the bottom and moving out of sight as well, he would prep his hand near silver ultimatum. "If there was ever an appropriate analogy for death, this stinky darkness does the trick"

Variety was the spice of life, and the variety in this case was truly the whole spice rack thrown onto a platter. A healer who refused to heal if he were fully wanting to, wielding a blade and a weapon she was unfamiliar with. From what she could see on the expressions of the other two, she was not alone in that regard. A young wolf who was surely not to be underestimated in the slightest, with a weapon array just as impressive as the nobleman. The fact they were equipped with a semblance that had been forewarned as a blind inducing ability, Sass had taken a mental note on all her honest abilities alongside that intellect. She was going to be a much larger asset to her mission, due to her faunus abilities alone being the upper hand. They could have relied on flashlights alone, but Ylva's gifts of night vision had her more prepared already then the rest of them. It wasn't a claim towards the third party member upon having no help in the matter with such a thing. Their fluent and graceful spin of their spears had proved their own value, especially towards combat. The movement in the wrists, and the rotation control gave away the experience. How little and new her own experience had to look compared to them all. The same was said when Kai had been explaining the very few amounts of information. He gave little to really know about his skills, but the gaze in his eyes, and the confident stride he carried regardless (whether he knew he was coming off this way or not,) she could tell he had some sort of experience he wasn't saying. Kai had even promised to train her sometime, but there was that curiosity on what he had experience with. The fact he hadn't said enough had that question in the air. Something for later to consider asking on... For now she could only follow on what he said, and take his word for it. The same could only be said on the views of how one thought towards the teachings of Beacon. Sasselia had a definite counter to bring, but she had reluctantly nodded, as it surely wasn't the time to be speaking on the views of how one thought of things. "J-jus make sure... You consider some other factors than the academy alone... Despite... H-how you may view things. I can't be safe to really say the most important factor.. F-for now..." As much as she felt she should speak, her own refrained thought had lead itself towards another intellectual concept that had sunk in.
The root of all of this, had involved a deeper, more coincidental string of fate. Vacuo. The long destroyed land that seemed to have a tie with each member in the party. Had the headmaster set such a thing up? If so, was it on purpose, or was it fully coincidental? With all four accounted for on the same homeland of origins... Such a wonderment had indeed crossed her mind. She recalled Garret having said to be a messenger, and based on what both Kai and Ylva had shown so far, based on body language and tone... They clearly had no idea that one another originated from the same kingdoms as well. All she knew was about Kai and her, but there should have been no surprise for someone else to possibly be. A nobleman as Garret, and a council member or two were fairly ranged between being well-known, and being under the radar but acknowledged. Sasselia had kept her thoughts on it silent, just in case she had the risk of sounding like a lunatic, or was simply overthinking the situation. It wouldn't be the first time overthinking something. Such a thing was included in the current matter. They all had the impressive workings and capabilities, but why had she faltered on her own words, as if mentioning anything would have been wise? When most heard gravity, black holes and controlling a field came to mind for some. To be telling them it was traps of one direction or the other, there was no hiding the shame for it, and she had wanted to hide it back. It wasn't anything she would have considered to be useful. She had honestly expected mild backlash to boot. "Truly they find just a minor thing -unnecessary..."
To her surprise, Sasselia hadn't expected Garret to actually compliment a little on how useful it could be below. Such an insight hadn't had her consider that factor, which brought a smile to her face. "I-I'll be expected to u-use my fullest then! I-I also believe with Miss Ylva's ability, having her at either position would be beneficial. Sh-she could easily cover the preparation of the glyphs to be set, as an interesting set up down there, should the need arise." In hopes of that idea processing through, the young blue haired woman had to digress towards the mission itself. All of the introductions were over, and majority of abilities were shared. Garrett had also voiced the opinion, already going towards the covering of the sewer to open up the hatch. Never had she smelt something so foul! As Garrett had it all set, the waft of air from below the depths had wafted up, hitting her nostrils in a full blown stench of garbage that was surely musty. Almost plugging her nose, it had taken for her to hold her breath a little, and a clench to both her fists, to avoid making a disgusted sound at the top of her lungs. Despite his warning and smile, Garrett was truly more prepared for all of this. Sass could only give a grimace in return, watching as he had descended down. When it was Kai's turn, it was an astonishing time to find out that her training was about to begin right there and then. As much as she would have complaint, thinking rationally, this as the perfect time for it, which was a good thing, in a sense. "R-right. I'll do my best!" Bowing her head a little, she awaited until Kai was gone, to shift her attention to Ylva. "I think with b-both of our powers, w-we will be a-able to complete this mission!" The security and responsibility she felt coming from Ylva made things feel more reassuring for this. Ylva was somehow more... Soothing to be near, with the calm and collected presence she assumed the young wolf had. "L-let us do our best as well. I E-entrust to have you back as best as I am able. I-I shall... Head down into uhm... This interesting hole!" Hoping to ignore the smell the best she could, Sass had descended her way down next, keeping her head craned down towards the ladder steps aside her feet. The farther she went the stronger the smell had been. It was not until she had actually reached the grounding, had she plugged her nose, hoping to adjust to the air around them. "M-my goodness... I-it smells like a carcass c-came to life down here."
The petite wolf would listen quietly to each in turn. Her obsidian eyes on Garret when he spoke of the plan, she would frown slightly; although she did understand his concern, she did not like the idea of being put in back. Especially when she could, and preferred to, scout ahead for any trouble."I shall not be kept in the back,"Ylva thought and her expression would say as much before Sun spoke. He was quite vocal, but rather silent after arguing/talking with Sass, so her attention was only partially on him as she still had eyes on Reveley."He still hasn't explained what a Kuntai is..."The wolf girl thought but let it rest as talk moved to other things. It wasn't truly something she could handle, but she had to try to get along. They were not like her teammates, and she had a hard enough time with them. No, they were lone wolves, she told herself.
Being in a pack, she had to learn to trust her team, which these two human males made it hard to do...but, before she would speak, she would hear Sass speak. Her head tilted slightly to the side, curious as the blue-haired maiden would argue on the faunus girl's behalf. It was actually quite wise and tactful thinking."Plausible. As for my abilities of stealth and darkvision, it would be wiser that I scout ahead,"Ylva commented softly to Sass' comments, before looking to the others, in particular Reveley when given a chance to retort before they were ready to go down."The two males are bullheaded, like my cousin,"Sylvia contemplated quietly before looking back to Sass as they would make their way to the hole.
Smiling slightly up to the other student."Agreed...Good luck,"Ylva said softly. Not much for words, but her tail swayed slightly before she would start down after the three humans. Though it was dark as hell, she could probably see a lot more of the underground workings than the humans. Not to say anything of the gods awful scent."Reminds me of the stinkende vaskebjørn,"Ylva thought, briefly thinking of Rowan before all thoughts would return to the task at hand. Her nose wrinkled but, she kept going."Death, is accurate,"Ylva sighed under her breath, almost inaudible as she looked around, following without a sound as she walked, her ears twitching as she listened for anything that was not their own sounds (steps, breaths, etc).

In particular was Wolf; her few words and more nonverbal reactions was foremost on his mind as he dug through the pack and checked one of the items within, a rope about twenty feet in length, which could prove useful here. Especially since the transition to cavern from sewer would likely not be a seamless one. But, as his eyes and hands would search for the rest of his requisitioned goods, he would think back to Wolf. Her expression at being held in the back had clearly shown her dissatisfaction with such a positioning. Even further going to speak later to say it would be wise if she scouted ahead due to her dark-vision and apparently being good at being quiet. Which, while he could see reasoning for it, he did not quite like her insinuation of it. 'The youth are always so stubborn and confident.' He thought to himself; a bit ironic given his own age. He could tell that she would be the lone wolf of the group; the Hound and himself had a relative understanding for fighting and could work around it while Blue seemed more team-friendly. So that just left her in Garret's mind as the one prone to listen the least and be the least cooperative. Part of him though of how his father would deal with such things; to show him the error of his ways when he had it his way. While Garret was tempted to flat out deny and keep her there, he wondered if there was perhaps wisdom yet from his fathers actions. 'Be it front of back, if she is far enough, her flash will not affect us...' He thought to himself silently. A smile crossing his lips despite the ever present foul odors of the sewer. 'Very well; we shall see if she will learn as I had that getting your way is not always beneficial.' He thought to himself as he had an idea in mind for her.
The other two had not added much for Garret to think on, save their varying beliefs in the school. Garret had to agree with Kai the truth was somewhere in the middle; the students not seeming to see, or realize, that missions to school were given in trust that they would be completed. While it was to help the huntsman by doing some missions that were a bit lower danger, it was also a test of them. With so many students at the school, someone should've taken it. He took missions from the board regularly, but that one in particular had been reserved for students until now. He was not blaming the two there though; it was more that no one did nor was it placed with more urgency as time went. On that point he could agree with Kai on the school; even if elsewise he could not typically. 'It is wiser to not feel the need to defend and see things from a more neutral position.' he thought to himself; something that the students and the Hound should learn in time. As those thoughts went through his mind, he would pull out three helmets; they looked like, and were, miner hats. Testing the lights on them individually as the others began descending into the tunnels he would see they seemed fully charged and cast a narrow, bright beam of light into the darkness. Not the best substitute for darkvision, but it was better than nothing at all. While there was technology that could give better vision than this, it was something Garret avoided. He did not trust more sophisticated technology, so he was content to rely on simpler versions. This, at the least, would leave their hands free. Standing up now that the others were down, speaking of the smell and death, Garret would smile despite the odor and hold out the helmets to the Hound and to Blue. "Here. While these may not dispel all darkness, it should aid us at the least." He would say, offering it to them if they chose to accept. He had an extra on in his pack, having not known if they would have a faunus, so he left it in there for now. If any refused, he would put it back in the bag before putting on his own one and keeping the light off for the moment. No need to blind anyone when they weren't walking quite yet.
His golden eyes would then turn to Wolf. "I have been thinking on your proposal. If you are confident in your abilities, you may scout ahead. Your light, if surprised, would be an indication of danger at the very least. And I am curious to see how you shall represent your people in this. However there are to be no heroics. If you sight any Grimm, you are to alert us. Do I have you word?" He would speak thoughtfully yet sternly to Wolf; wanting to make sure the point stuck with her. In his mind, truthfully, he expected her to be ambushed. But he was also confident in her ability and all of theirs that such a thing would not be fatal; that they would still be able to fend off the Grimm in time. It was perhaps not the wisest thing to have her learn in a lesson whose end result could be death, but this was the reality of the world. Some lessons needed that edge to be learned. His eyes would be looking to hers as he awaited her response; if she consented he nod but not send her ahead quite yet. If not she would be relegated to the rear. Regardless, Garret would turn on his miner helmet while facing first behind them then in front; the sewers still extending towards the school behind them but their objective being away. 'No time to waste.' He thought to himself; doubtless the sound of the sewer being opened would have the cavern or sewer dwellers alert for something to come. "The only death that shall be meted out today shall be to the Grimm. If that is all we shall set forth. Wolf, you may scout ahead. Hound, you shall take the lead. Blue, you shall take the center. I shall be covering the rear." Garret would say, assigning roles he found fitting to the members here; even if he did not desire rearguard himself. But with his semblance, he was best set to reach any position from his position; Kai he knew to be a capable fighter, and Sasselia with her glyphs proved most useful in the middle position to help either end in case of attack. Ylva had her wish to scout; only time would tell whether she was right or if it was Garret.

❝Be Prepared, or expect Death's hand to grab you ❞
Kai knew he was a hard a** and while his opinions and views on the situation may seem heavily bias against the academy and its headmaster he was at least doing his best to try and give the benefit of a doubt. It just was erased once he calculated all the factors. Surprisingly, Garrot didn't go into full protection mode. Kai wasn't sure whether the man agreed with him or he had some type of will to restrain himself from commenting. That would be unlike him though and just make it boring if there was no back and forth. Still, the mission was important. But how Important. How were they all brought together? All descendants from Vacuo. That was already a strange string of fate. Add in that two of the three he knew made it so much stranger. Add another round that one of them was a native tribe from there? The possibilities and plausibility of this occurring all go down bit by bit. Something was being set in motion and Kai couldn't put his fingertips on what it could be. He, however, would internally have to trust for it to work out for the best. To do that, he had to trust someone other than himself for an extended period of time. Garret earned that chance. Hopefully, it would not come to bite him. As much as Kai meant what he said about striking Garret down, needless bloodshed is not the answer especially when all it's doing is taking resources away from Vacuo. I going to need to read up and research more later...
Kai was on Garret's side and while Sass argued for the Faunus, it seemed that would be no luck. At least not for now. Who knows what she might do once they were actually in the area of importance. Would she impose and make herself take lead? He hoped not. They weren't gelling on teamwork here. That was unfortunately obvious. While the two were coming up with ideas on how to use their semblances together, Kai kept quiet. There was no use continuing such talk. Instead, needed to get things done. It was all in agreement that the area smelled. He hoped they would carry on quickly through the foul stench. It definitely wasn't the sweet aroma of cake. The thought of the stench was interrupted by the handing of a helmet. Note, he should get night vision on his suit. Looking at the helmet, it was a miner helmet with a light on it. Did he expect him to wear that ontop of the helmet he already had? Would it even stick? Would it stay? Looking at his shoulder guards, it may mess with his neck movement but Kai instead would put the helmet on his left shoulder and take his razor wire to start wrapping the helmet to his should. Once it was nice and tight he would tie it off and cut it with his Kunai. Same effect right? It still was going to light the way for them. Shouldn't matter if it wasn't on to pf the head. It did look kind of silly though.
As he worked, he was fuming though. He gave an offer to the wolf. He wanted to interject but he would bite his tongue on it. He would only just give Garret that look. “You better be right on your assessment. On your thought process here. If she ******** up it on your head” he commented to Garret sternly. Whatever option she chose, the words still would be said before he took his spot. While he was at the lead, he technically was second in the line. It was just that the faunus was going to scout ahead. A plausible formation it was still. Kai and Garret had a more direct style when it came to fighting grim but unlike Garret, Kai's semblance didn't allow him to be able to play a safeguard. So with Garret in the back being able to move and intervene if necessary was actually logical. To be able to have a group that used tactics and strategy was like a dream come true!!! A lovely dream at that. Heading off, he wondered what they would come across first. He was determined. Not only because he hated grim and wanted to get the mission over with, but also because his “student” was watching. There was no room for failure!.

They barely started and already differences of opinions were occurring like crazy. Sasselia wanted to be the middle person, but there was uncertainty on the best side to pick since she barely knew anybody in the group. The most the young woman could do was smile, and keep a cool head, while allowing them to talk the rest of it out. Her piece had been said, and perhaps anymore would have been too much. This was a team effort, and despite them only knowing about the origin of their birth places, everything else was simply long to be left to chance and consideration... Plus a lot of patience it would seem, given their very opinionated blonde warrior. Sasselia, and perhaps Ylva, were perhaps the patient ones. The irony out of it all however, was stubbornness. Despite one thinking or coming office stubborn, they were all stubborn in their own way. Stubbornness could potentially become lethal if it continued. Sass could only secretly pray that stubbornness would not become the death of them. There were too many mistakes she had made her last mission due to stubbornness she carried to save someone. Mistakes that had her almost break her legs. Things she had chosen herself that established the very worry she was trying to avoid from arising. Watching this disagreement on the position of a person to be placed had that tinge already there. Sasselia could only waver to relief once an agreement had finally been met. "Giving someone a just chance in a rare opportunity seems risky... But fitting given the latent abilities they have proven." That was the belief she was carrying to herself. Then topic on its own was at least more tolerable than the judgments on ones origins of academic structure. That topic was hitting too much exhilarated hot water for comfort. Regardless of it all, Sasselia believed that both had their merits, and that Ylva had an unbreakable pride and grace. Both her and Garrett were at least communicative. Kai was being silent... All too silent for comfort during sembalance talk. Such notice was easy. The only true thing on his end that had been a few comments he has made before and after entering the hole. The one topic of being perplexed towards was the finger pointing towards Garrett about letting her taking the front position. At least give her a chance???
Being placed into the middle spot of the strategy, Sasselia had to shift those earlier thoughts out of her head for now, and focus on the mission. In order to avoid a second mistake with deja vu, she had to remember to take a better initiative. This mission was to be more important on the membrane, with second guessing on the hopes of teamwork to be cast to the side until further notice. The smell of the sewers made that possible!! it's fellow stench burned her nose like no tomorrow, and it seemed she wasn't the only one who had shared that sentiment. "f-foul indeed!" almost about to say more on that factor, a shifting of light at the corner of her eye had caught her attention. Casting her eyes towards Garrett, there was a unique piece of headgear he was hanging on to... He also appeared to have had enough for everyone. Kai had no problem taking his it seemed, but it was odd how he was wrapping it around his shoulder. Did that not hurt?? Ylva of course had no need for hers to use, but it was kind of Garrett to have at least had an extra just in case. To be offered one towards her way, she had taken it with a polite smile on her face, and a small thank you under her breath. "one moment, I must make sure n-nothing obstructing my h-head." By obstruction, she was talking about her hair clips. They were personal items she had wished to have be remained from harm, and had a connection from her past to another loved one. Before she could even put the helmet upon her head, she had removed the hair clips, setting them within the contents of her medical herbs bag. Better safe than sorry. Any chances of discomfort could be a distraction. "F-fantastic idea to have these b-brought along S-sir messenger." Placing the old fashioned headgear on her head after the adjustments, she was finally prepared to continue on, get it herself into proper stance. Since it was agreed that Ylva was to lead them through, she awaited for the young woman to proceed first, before ushering Kai to go next. "I am ready.... After y-you~."
The petite wolf kept her dark eyes on their group's supposed leader, Reveley before descending into the sewers. It was unpleasant but, she would get past it mentally with shallow quiet breaths. She had not been expecting the human to be even considering her proposal, so when he spoke, it was a bit of a surprise; she had just tucked the small chain-link into her shackle to quiet them. She blinked and looked to him as she would make her way towards him. Politely declining the hat light."Sight Grimm, do not engage. Report back,"Ylva thought over the conditions of her mission. She would nod."You have my word."The wolf girl's thoughts and promise were conveyed clearly in her calm and serious expression.
Turning to the young woman and Kai, she would bow slightly, then to their team leader respectfully."Be safe,"Ylva told the humans, all, before taking her leave into the dark, not long before she would be swallowed by it."They better be safe,"Sylvia thought, though she did not know them that well, she had to trust they had the skills necessary. And she could not waste any more time with fluff words. Yards ahead with keeping herself alert, she would listen for any signs before her that there might be something else down with her."The unpleasant scent does not help my nose,"Ylva thought, displeased of having one of her senses hindered at this moment.
Though in hindsight, she should probably be thankful; if her sense of smell was being messed with, it might mean the same for any Grimm hiding here. After a couple minutes of silence and travel, something would catch the edge of the wolf girl's hearing. Just a couple feet ahead, from what her faunus dark-vision could make out was the mouth of a tunnel...No, a cavern. Inside, she could make out soft breathing...sleeping. Carefully, slowly readying her spear, she would take one quiet step and Pause."Uh-oh...No, gotta get back to the others,"Everything inside Ylva was telling her to go, her body quivered...resisting the urge to just go in and attack had her paused where she was. Finally, she would sigh softly and turn to head back to report...Unbeknownst at the time there was danger waiting...

The cavern walls were unpleasantly moist. The cavern was jagged in all respects. The walls, floors, and ceiling were all cut with aged tools from long ago. This was one of the older underground systems in Vale. Far more vast than most realized. It used to be that people took refuge underground from grimm before the city was as large as and robust as it is today. The hodgepodge group wouldn't need to travel too deep before they found trouble. The pressure in the caves were different. It felt like a storm was brewing. A quiet storm.
The caverns descended down from their point of entry with a single hallway. Nothing too complex. It eventually opened up to a larger cavern room with numerous offshoots. There were two primary caves that stuck out, one was a large opening straight ahead, and one to the group's right which had a pinkish hue emanating from its depths. The pink cave was half the distance of the larger cavern straight ahead. To their left were several large stalagmites with a footpath around them leading to various other caves. On the ceiling were many stalactites, most of which looked quite weak with cracks in their bases.
Ylva was the first to notice it. The breathing of a slumbering beast up ahead. It was hard to pinpoint its exact location as the faint sounds echoed all around them, confusing direction for all who don't possess keen hearing. Before anyone could move deeper the cave shook violently. It last just a few seconds and dust and dirt from above sloughed off the ceiling. A few pebbles toppled to the cavern floor. Bouncing off the floor with force. The cave soon was restored to its usual peace, but the small quake was quite unusual. Ylva could still hear the beat slumbering, undisturbed as if these quakes had been ongoing for some time.
To the group's left, the feet of some grimm could be heard. Walking. Was it in the same cavern? Or down a hall? It was hard to tell. It didn't sound like any normal four legged grimm though, it sounded like the footsteps of a person out for a casual stroll.

There was Sasselia who, while nervous and particular on her words, had an occasional fire at times and outspokenness. 'It would be good if she became more confident in her words.' He silently thought to himself. The general comments on entering a sewer and the foul stench was probably the most amusing to Garret, despite also finding it repulsive, in it being the one thing they all agreed on with little issue. Kai had taken an interesting approach to the helm, given his own which Garret had not expected; strapping it to his shoulder guard to act as a light. 'Functional, at the least.' Garret thought silently to himself. Predictably, Ylva did not accept the helmet given her faunus nature. Which was fine; it gave the rest of them a spare light in case something happened to one of their helmets. Blue seemed to be the longest in accepting it, if only in that she seemed to have to prepare for it. Golden eyes would look to her curiously at her obstructing her head comment being related to hair clips. He idly wondered why it was necessary to remove and tuck them away, but did not truly question it. Once done, she would say it was a fantastic idea and address him as sir messenger which caused an amused smile to cross his lips. "Lancer or Garret would do fine, Blue. It is better to have simple names, or nicknames, so that when attention must be drawn it is drawn swiftly." He would respond, revealing his nickname for her as he did so. Giving some reason to why he nicknamed practically everyone he met. He would then address Wolf, who seemed surprised by his change of heart. Though she likely was unaware of why he had done so; she may not have accepted it as well as she did if she knew. She would repeat his instructions to her, in which he would nod that she got it correct. Her nod was the only confirmation he needed for now.
He would assign everyone their positions, though it seemed the Hound was not content with his change of heart. He would respond after the Wolf had set off into the dark and said to be safe; saying that he better be right or it would be on his head. "I am confident in my decision, and reasoning." Would be the only response Garret would give before they set out. Voice and tone even; showing he was serious on it and not doing it cause he caved or for no good reason. Taking up the rear of the group, with miner light on, Garret would follow after Blue a few meters behind her. Needing some space with his spears and so if anything came from behind it would not lead to a crowding issue; making himself more of a target in the back, potentially. Being furthest back, he lost sight of Wolf swiftest but he doubted the others would be able to see her long. She was the scout, after all. He would keep his senses alert as he followed after, keeping Blue in his line of sight but also listening intently in case anything were coming from behind or if a warning was given ahead. Part of him believing Wolf would be attacked soon, or something would happen, in the quiet storm he could feel brewing. It felt a bit unnatural; to be down in the dark here in confined quarters. He was much more used to open sky and fighting areas. He took note of the walls around them; jagged and moist, from top to bottom. It was curious to see; he expected a sewer tunnel to be much more smooth. He knew not the history behind the tunnels here, only that it was an issue at present. Eventually, their narrow tunnel would open into a much wider cavern. It was hard to believe something like this actually existed, connected to the tunnels they had just emerged from. Immediately upon arriving, he could see a tunnel that seemed rather large, if off in the distance. He also noticed a faint glow, but could not make out if it was a tunnel or not from his position. They seemed the most promising, even if there were some other tunnels around as well. 'Clearing these out may be a bigger job than anticipated.' He thought to himself silently.
His eyes would travel from the caves to the stalagmites and stalactites; the latter seeming like they could fall at any disturbance. 'A hazard to be wary of, or an advantage waiting to be used.' He thought to himself silently, though did not speak yet. For all he knew an ambush could be brewing with the ill-ease he felt around them. Garret was about to ask on how to progress when suddenly everything shook violently. Bracing himself with Heir on the ground, he would stand steadfast as dust and dirt came off from the ceiling. "Be wary of the ceiling." He said in a loud whisper to the Hound and Blue; worried some of the hanging hazards may fall. Thankfully, for now at least, they all remained where they were. After a few seconds, the quakes would end and all would be at peace again. Garret now wary with how easy such a peace was shattered as he looked around; on alert. That was when he heard it. Footsteps, to the left. Eyes looking in that direction, he would then look back to the others and notice the Wolf returning. Knowing the message, it could only confirm Grimm around in his mind. Be it from the footsteps they could hear or otherwise. Whispering, he would give address them. He would listen as Ylva alerted them to sleeping Grimm within a cavern ahead and a strange glow from the cavern. They now had two groups to contest with potentially as he looked to the direction the footsteps were coming from. "Prepare yourselves for battle. We do not want to get flanked, so we should deal with the active Grimm first while we have the element of surprise." He would say in a whisper as he took out Virtue now as well so he had a spear in each hand. He was also saying this as he noticed Ylva's look back that she had wanted to deal with the Grimm there. He was glad she followed orders at least to not have done so on her own. Given this was a cavern, and how sound seemed to bounce around, he would keep their formation as is. It was still best to have their front and rear covered, in case any others decided to join the fray.

Of course Kai was against it. It was against the logical thing to do. He didn't know what Garrot had in his mind at the moment allowing her to take the lead but if that was what he wanted to do, he said his peace and he meant it. It seemed Garret was just as serious on his decision as well, trying to show off that he didn't cave in to the demands of the student. Though if they could read each other minds, they would be able to agree on one thing. Blue needed to become more confident. Less a delicate flower, more venus fly trap! For a team, communication was spotty at best. Kai wasn't going to say anything unless needed to. He was simmering about the situation. It almost ate him alive watching this...baby sitter go up ahead alone. This would change with the violent shaking that almost knocked Kai off his feet. It only lasted a few moments, but it was enough to put Kai on high alert. Hearing Garrot's whisper, he wasn't worried about the ceiling. While it was important as it could cave in on them, Kai was more worried about what caused the noise. That doesn't sound good. This must be what happens when you leave incompetent people at the helm. Autrox should of MADE a team come down here With his blade ready, Garret heard and Kai was no different. Whether it was grim or an intruder splashing around in the water, they were going to take care of it. He trusted Garret to take care of the rear as Kai went forward more to the front to protect the head of the group. He remembered that Sassellia had an interesting semblance. Should it be used now to prepare? Just in case they get overran? He did not know. Kai wasn't sure what was down there so a plan wasn't able to be formulated. Now it was time to just wait.

Garrett preferred to keep the names short, quick, and simple, which Sasselia had no issues about. choice of Blue for her own nickname was an obviously suitable choice, which the young woman had no quarrels about being referred to as. "That is a f-fair conjuncture... I will ensure t-to practise and get the hang of doing so, should the worse happen." Returning a smile towards him, she had properly fashioned it upon her head, feeling it's a weight a bit of an awkward change up. "O-okay..." Only once she had felt that it was set in place, had been ready to get proceeding. Ylva had went ahead though to scout, and begin on the purpose of seeing the damages, with a small gesture of sincerity that Ylva was careful. For now, she could only hold onto the hope things went well, and keep her mind focused on the three of them proceeding. There was comfort to take in about this set up for ideas, although given Gerrett's earlier introduction, the front or middle had sounded like the best spots for him. There would be no mentions of this however, simply finding it an odd placement, but herself near the back was just fine. Long as she could have a middle standing of sorts, she was fine regardless of what spot was actually passed onto her. Twas not her places to have spoken much had she had any actual issue in the first place. Back questioning a team leader was disrespectful! Proper politeness and cooperation played a big part of surviving caverns!! Even if the caverns were something that had left a lot to be desired,. The plus side towards it having been no city lights or streets to wold them back.
Into position, and the time for the movement, and the mission itself to finally begin running it's course. With the light of the headgear, Sasselia had remained in middle position, the moist textures of the cavern walls catching off the lights glare, while the exterior of the place itself had left something to be desired with the smell. Up ahead of them, Ylva was gone from sight, scouting ahead as promised. "I hope her scouting is safe." In silence, she had taken some time to inspect the walls, the cracks among the rock leaving an unsettling nervousness. Garrett had also seemed to be taking note, his comment a confirmation that she was wise to have been unsure. "We m-must.. Trek carefully down here... No upward, risky tactics..." Rather nervous now about the ceiling caving on them, her pretty head had been ducked a bit towards the ground, expecting the terrain to be the problem. It was clearly the wrong thing to have been worried about. With Ylva's return towards them, the unnerving shaking of the cave progressed to the signs that danger was approaching. "A-ah!" Shaking from the sounds, there was panic for Ylva and her safety at that point, with Sasselia almost breaking formation to go and find her, just to know that she was going to return at all to them When she had, the relief hit her hard, a bright smile showing that relief crystal clear. "I-I'm glad you returned s-safe!" Ylva ad deserved the greeting, but of course the small talk was now a thing of intermission. Garrett had given order to prepare themselves, to which Sasselia had responded with an activation of her aura. The glow surrounded her, it's blue hued essence ready for the proper use. "I-I'll get use a window of opportunity... I-if it's not a good idea I'll dispel!" From what Sasselia had meant, she had switched to shotgun mode for her glaive, pointing the shotguns in two different directions. One pointed in Garret's direction, more so aimed behind him. The other pointed towards the direction Ylva had arrived from. "gravity..." Whispering the command, Sasselia had fired out two gravity traps, the glyph being set in the pointed directions. All she could do from that point on was prepare, keeping the shotguns at the ready.
The petite wolf bit down on her tongue to keep from growling as she went for a safe spot against the cavern wall when the caverns fiercely rumbled. Spear still ready, she would look around before returning to the group and reporting the numbers to Reveley. Luckily nothing stopping her along the way."Luckily the beasts ahead were still asleep, but for now long?"Ylva thought, uneased with the sense of danger that surrounded them. At least from what she could hear as her ears twitched searchingly.
Though she had to turn from the light of the hat, the girl would see Ylva smile a little."Likewise,"Ylva retorted in whisper. After the small talk, she would nod to hearing Garret's orders."Wise council,"The wolf girl thought approvingly, earning him more of her respect; whether she realized it or not. Kai was up front, Reveley in back and Sass was in the middle. Before she would move to center, Ulv Lofte up yet ready to move to either side she saw needed help in battle that is where she would go to fight with her spear."This shall be fun,"Sylvia thought dryly. Trying to keep her emotions and semblance under control for now...

Ylva would be able to see clearly into the cave with the pink glow. After a short narrow hallway of sorts she could see it open up into a larger cavern roughly the same size, only there was something unique here that caught her attention; red dust crystals. It looked like a statue of sorts had been constructed to look like a large dust crystal, but at the top part was a fairly large sized red dust crystal (five times larger than a normal large sized dust container that you'd carry around). At the feet of the statue were two grimm. They were both creeps and were laying on the ground, seemingly asleep. One was on the left side of the statue and the other was on the right. They were regular sized, but had lots of scratches on them from what looked like active fighting. Ylva could see the one on the left more clearly. [The one on the left is100PC, the one on right is unknown]. There were no stalagmites in that chamber that Ylva could see. There was also what looked to be a metal utility shed of sorts at the back left.
The footsteps that they could hear from before were now gone. The only sound was from the grimm in the pink cave now, but anyone who looked towards the large cave beyond would see some light fog drifting out from it. Other than that, just the soft dripping of water off the cave's walls and ceiling.
Garret alone would notice something small in the large cavern flutter past the entrance only to disappear as fast as it came. It was blue, but he couldn't make out what it was other than that. Maybe an insect of sorts.

The Hound naturally took the front, the wolf the middle with Blue, and Blue going to set her traps as he saw her activate her aura. When asking if it was not a good idea Garret just stayed silent and kept guard, allowing her to set the traps. It would help to have those covering both the front and the rear depending where the attack came from; Grimm were often unpredictable and liked to attack from multiple directions. It was interesting to see firsthand how she set up her gravity traps as Garret would note that for later. 'The more fights we are in, the more effective we can work with one another,' he thought to himself quietly. He was glad at least that they all stuck to their formation for now at least. As they waited, tense and ready for combat, the footsteps would just fade away to nothing. Leaving a sense of unease to Garret at the very least. 'What caused this, and where did it stop?' he wondered to himself. He knew Grimm could sense negative emotion but he did not know if something like that tipped them off. As he looked around, he would notice light fog drifting out of the larger cavern. Unsure how long it had been doing so, as he did not recall it the first time, he would notice something else as well. Something small, blue, and very fast would flutter past the entrance and out of sight again. He only knew Grimm to be black, red, and white. So the appearance of some blue thing in there was very strange. Garret would also think back to Wolf's report; the smaller cavern had a statue made to look like red dust crystals, with a very big red dust crystal atop it. Alongside it were two sleeping, battle-hardened creeps, and a utility shed past it on the left side. No stalagmites, though he wasn't sure if there were stalactites. 'Seeing as whatever was moving has stopped...we should take advantage of the lull,' he thought quietly.
Looking to the others, he would break the silence with a quiet yet audible whisper as he projected his voice. "Whatever was approaching seems to have paused. Whether it was because it detected us or not remains uncertain. Regardless, we should take this as an opportunity to progress while we can. We do not need it deciding to alert the sleeping Grimm," he would explain with a cautious tone of voice. Body language clearly saying he was ready for a fight regardless. "We should head to the pink cave. As Wolf reported, it houses two sleeping Grimm and some unnatural structures. Perhaps some that can be useful to us; at the very least it would also allow us to perhaps strike them down before they awoke. I also noticed something in the larger cavern, save the sudden fog. A small yet fast blue thing had fluttered by the entrance. Perhaps that was where the noise of footsteps had been coming from given the fog, though I cannot be certain as whatever the blue thing was it was airborne' Garret would add as he reported his own find and guess at where the activity could be coming from. Fog and movement from there weren't the best signs at this stage. With that plan offered, Garret would wait for consent from the others; it was a perfectly valid idea to wait here longer and maybe bait whatever was out there to come as well. If they did consent to going forward, Garret would allow Kai to take point this time with Ylva behind; followed by Sasselia and himself at the rear. Since they had all seen where Sass' trap had been placed, they would easily avoid it or she could dispel it if she desired. Though he felt leaving them may be a good idea; if something tried to circle around behind them it may catch them unawares and buy them time/ warning.
