Zachariah de La Vallière

The scene unfurled and disruptive noise could be heard all around while Zach tried to make sense of Bashmu at the moment. He wasn't moving nor saying anything about Zach's proposed plan, and to make matter worse he was now being called out by one of the soldiers. Why was Bashmu so collective about all this, pondered the drunken underaged knight. Was this planned by the snake Faunus and that's why Bashmu was so chill? Or perhaps this was Bashmu's chance opportunity to cut out Zachariah and keep all his gambling winnings to himself?

Bashmu hadn't steered him wrong yet, Zachariah recalling himself looking like a fool after helping that faunus woman steal, but still Zach was in a predicament. What was he to do with the smoke grenade he's already pulled the pin to!? The soldier barked at Zacharias again, a small bead of sweat forming upon his forehead, with a quick hand nuzzling the grenade back into its pocket within Zach's combat jacket. While this seemed to work for now Zachariah knew that if he moved too much too fast, or is forcibly moved abruptly, the smoke grenade would slip out of its pocket and activate on the spot.

Being very careful Zach only gave a slight nod to Bashmu before slowly turning to face the Vale soldier before approaching with small steps. "Y-yes? What cab I help ya wit?"

Bashmu just continued to be chill. He didn't expect that the male had already pulled the pin off on the grenade. Securing his winnings, he chuckled a little at the male's response to the vale soldier. The soldier would move over to Zach and grab. The abrupt movement was rash and stupid. Not only did it threaten the safety of the area, but it set off the smoke grenade Zach had hidden. As the smoke filled the room, the man who grabbed Zach started choking. Inhaling nothing but smoke and it wasn't that good gas they were smoking on the south side of the village. With the smoke filling the room, Bashmu's eyes would pierce through the smoke and be vibrant as a laser. A buddy of the soldier would go to try help him out. This would give Zach time to escape, but where was he going to go was the question? He better figure it out because the vibrant violet hues were starting to fade and with that Bashmu would be lost in the smoke

The soldier who tried to detain Zach and his friend would think that there were grim invading the saloon. Seeing beowolf everywhere, they started to fire on their own comrades creating a gunfight between the two parties. Luckily...the two were the more marksmen talent of the group which bought everyone inside time. Bashmu would slither away from the situation. He hoped Zach was smart enough to follow the sounds. There were people leaving through a small opening in the ground under the bar. The chaos causing several glasses of alcohol to fall. Where did this tunnel go to? A connection of pipes with 3 ways to go. (gen a random number from 1-3. the number indicates the path you go) If he goes to 1 it ends up in the sewer. If 2 it would end up in trash can behind the bookstore. If 3, would end up with Bashmu and the others near the outskirts of the village. While safe....it also had grim. What were would Zach end up?

Zachariah de La Vallière

A grab of his shoulder and a rough tug had accidentally displaced the smoke grenade; Zach's eyes following the falling steel can with eyes that said Ohhhh s**t. The little knight knew to hold his breath at his own device, the nice distraction getting him free from the soldiers but placing him between too many lines of sight. Before Zach knew it the entire spot was hot with lead flying all over the place. The confusion of the smoke was all that Zach needed to hit the deck and dodge the spray of bullets with eyes searching for some kind of clue as to where he was at. He planned to bum rush the entrance yet an eerie glow of familiar violet captured Zach's eyes like a beacon through the fog of war.

The glow was quickly fading but Zachariah carried on as best as he could, crawling past lots of stomping feet to reach the bar and flip over it. Safe from gunshots, the poor little drunk tumbled into the floor and grabbed a goodie before following the sounds of footsteps leading down a dimly lit tunnel dug underground. "Bashmu! Where are you?" The tunnel had led to a split in the road, three ways to be exact, and down each large pipe way echoed the sounds of others who had also escaped the hidden saloon. "Damn it, this sucks." With no real idea which path Bashmu could have taken Zach kept his stolen item tucked safely away in his coat before randomly choosing a path; His hopes now cast on fate's guidance on this adventure of his.

The choice he made wasn't the one the others went. Instead, Zach was on his own. Being lead to the sewers wouldn't be a bad thing. Considering everything that could have happened, it turned out for the best. The sewers were not going to be traveled by soldiers. Once out the pipes, Zach would notice there was another type of atmosphere. While it stank like a sewer, it had a small infrastructure like a small town. There were people down there but no humans. Only Faunus. When he saw the faunus he would notice they looked scared, hungry, and barely hanging on to survive. The food they were eating was something ill advised along with the water and fluids. When the Faunus saw Zach they cowered. They feared him. He was in a position that if he needed something he could get the answers out of them without any issue. The weird thing is, Zach would still be able to hear the life of the village at the center. This sewer system was underneath the more technical part of the village. But why? Did the people not in the center have proper sewage management? There also would be a large humming nose. A generator of some sort but it wouldn't be easy to see. Only able to be heard. There were 2 things clear. 1. Faunus were treated roughly and 2 they played a key role here in which the advanced society of the center of the village wanted hidden.

Zachariah de La Vallière

Zachariah quickly began noticing the change in air quality the further he travel down the large dark pipe, holding his nose for a moment as a particularly bad gust blew by. There was an ill stench that was slightly bearable, yet the dim lighting hardly glint as the young knight's eyes gazed upon a gloomy sight. Like a poorly funded project of what the city above was going to look like, a subterranean cityscape spans far into this underground system that's be constructed. Faunus in tattered clothing lived their lives down here, talking and trading amongst each other, bun when Zach peeked around there wasn't a human in sight. Perhaps it was just his sight readjusting to the blur he had experienced from the liquor he drank, but this sight was no mirage as he looked into the faces of the scared Faunus people.

"This is so messed up. Have Humans forced the Faunus here?" Zachariah thought aloud to himself as he was reminded of how the Faunus above were tired as they worked in the fields. With heavy heart Zach began walking through the underground town, looking around every so often at the Faunus hiding in fear or ignore the lost human for their own safety. Street to street every one had dodged him, up until Zach caught a Faunus by surprise while they exited what appear to be a grocery store. With Zachariah's body placing the faunus between himself and a wall the little night would speak up in a soft tone. "Please don't run. I'm not gonna hurt you, I promise. I just wanna know why aren't you all living up there? And do you know what's with the strange humming sound down here?" Because of his drinking the hum had given the lad a slight headache, yet Zach was curious of what's going on in this city; A knight now questioning what it cost for this land to fake its own bliss for the selective few.

The faunus he was trying to question would be blocked out by a difference faunus. He looked almost human but it was able to be determined he was a faunus by his tail. A tail swishing back and forth. He was a monkey faunus. Looking at Zachariah, he would determine the obvious. This boy was ignorant. ¨Only if you have a semblance to protect yourself do you get to be up above the surface. Only those with aura get that chance. Those without semblances are not protected so instead of being up above where we are a liability, we are stuck down here. The humming noise is us assisting with the electricity above. While dust still is a source, to keep from using it and to conserve energy for the village we have workers generating power below. Unfortunately, it is without pay. Refuse to pay us and if we refuse to do it then we are either beaten or killed. Or worse....they do nothing and let the grim pick us off" Who was this creature? He did not seem like someone you would normally think to have his aura locked. In fact, he looked like a warrior. A regular fighter but the scars on his body proved that he did not have the same healing ability that was basic with aura like others did. ¨What brings you down here? Are we not working fast enough?"

Zachariah de La Vallière

"Wait, what do you mean?"

The voice of a stranger gained Zachariah's now sober attention, hands releasing the faunus close by, and as the stranger began explaining more Zach looked out to the sad city. Each Faunus here was only here because of their weakness. The humans had decided them defective and unless without giving them a fair shot at finding something else they could be useful in. Zachariah had been victim of racism when he was younger and while it may had been due to faunus memory of the feelings stayed with him; Giving him a sense of what pain lay underneath the lashing which healed much easier than wounds to the spirit.

Such a union of hardened civilians with downtrodden faces gave anger to Zachariah but at the same time he asked himself what could he do with the situation given to him by the unknown monkey faunus who stood bravely before Zachariah. When asked a straight question the knight quickly responded with slight protest. "No, I'm not down here because of the work! In fact I'm not even from this city! I'm just a stranger passing through." The fact he didn't belong in this town at all was obvious with Zach's ignorance of how things worked around these parts. He showed his emotions on his sleeve, even if at times it showed as naive, but with this he hoped to gain trust by entrusting other to be truthful and honest as well.

"In fact, I was just separated from my guide Bashmu when we were attacked by Vale soldiers and that's the only reason I'm even down here." With a sigh in an attempt to release some stress, Zachariah gave a straightforward look with his bright gray eyes before asking for what he thought was a simple request. "I just wanna get out of this city and away from thugs or soldiers or whatever else is chasing me. I have a goal to enroll into Beacon Academy to become a Huntsman...will you help me get away from this city?"

The faunus mood relieved itself as he was not there to make them work faster. He was hoping he got what he was informing. It was simple, useless slaves (those without semblance or aura) were hidden away and forced do the harder work down there. Instead of just having someone unlock their aura like Juane in season 1. Still, it was saddening to see that the bows full intentions were to just get out of the city. Massud understood. Impossible situation and he was not going to leave hope on a foreigner to try assist. ¨Bashmu, that snake! He promised to help lead us out of here long ago. Instead, he forgot us down here and ran off. Interesting to see he still in town." Massud stated before looking away from Zach. ¨Go to the opening to the left of the big generator and you will be able to get out through the main sewer line. After that, you can easily leave. It comes out on a side of town usually left unguarded. ¨ Massud informed before turning around. Zach would start to receive boos. He was being called names, selfish, un-honorable. What kind of a huntsmen would let such a situation occur? But what could Zach do? Free them? Start a revolution?

Zachariah de La Vallière

Hearing his guide's name spoken with laced betrayal Zachariah felt uneasy in his gut. The very idea that the gambler would lie and abandon the faunus forced down here was...it was down right shameful! And yet Zachariah couldn't bare to look at his own reflection in the murky puddle at his feet, feeling that he had no right to judge when he was basically doing the same: Abandoning those who needed his help the most. Once given a path of escape Zach only stood for a moment, gazing at the stranger's back turned to him and hearing the insults thrown at him. It reminded Zach about his hometown and the orphanage he grew up in. It reminded Zach he wasn't a Faunus like most of the others and how they despised him. It reminded him how he couldn't save them either...and it made the young man clench his fist in a mix of anger and pain: Pain of a past he couldn't let go of and anger against a world he was beginning to see was clearly unbalanced.

"I can't..." Zachariah had taken a few steps heading towards the generator he was pointed to but the raven haired male stopped dead in his tracks before turning on his heels and returning to the the monkey faunus with a fire in Zachariah's eyes. "I won't leave things the way they are. I just can't!" Even with the names being thrown and the scowls of many eyes surrounding him Zach stood there with his aura beginning to rise within him. "I know I can't save you all by myself but I know that together we can make a change! One against the world will surely die, but united we become a force they can't hope to control! You all outnumber them and have the hopes for a better life within you all, while they'll only have their selfishness to rely on!"

Placing a hand upon Massud's shoulder Zachariah's white aura began flowing to the faunus, moving through him like blood through veins as it sought out something within the faunus; A voice calling out to hidden strength that had been locked away. "Please, let me help. I will never be able to live in peace if I leave here doing nothing to right the wrongs this city has been living with."

The faunus were amazed Zach stayed. They watched as he approached massud. As he went to try and help. The white glow would start to cover Massud before a bang rang out. A shot that sounded like a cannon. Blood splatter would splat onto Zach's face as he was a little too late. Massud's aura was not awaken in time. If he would look to the source, he would notice a familiar looking fellow. His guide Bashmu holding an augmented pistol that still had smoke coming frmo the barrel. The lights all would brighten in the underground city leaving no place for darkness. The faunus looked scared and confused as there was a good group of Vale soldiers down there. Was this going to be their grave? Would this be where they fight back? They were corrupted soldiers. Each one of them already had write ups for different types of discipline issues. Which was why they were assigned to patrol this outside city in the first place. Looking at the little kid, Bashmu shook his head. "Foolish kid."he commented before looking at the soldiers. "Take care of this issue. I will make sure cause a disturbance for an alibi. Don't need you getting in trouble with your commander. We are going to say this night is because of....Grimm Attacks" he commented to a soldier with a wink before looking back at Zach then starting to walk away.

Zachariah de La Vallière

He stood there with hope; The crowd giving a change of heart to the human. He smiled kindly to a stranger; Aura blooming forth. He was ready to save all that he could; An unearthly thunder ringing out, and soon with it blood followed. Eyes wide open with shock, Zachariah's face was in horror as he stared at the devastation that was left of the faunus' friendly face. The body had gone limp slipping away from grasp, where crimson now leak like a river, and with the fall Zach's eyes would turn to rise and see the face of such evil. That was the moment Zachariah's eyes which held a spark of hope now burned with intense hatred to the devilish man behind this atrocious action. No longer was there the soft face of a naive youth as rage took him over, a snarl much like that of a wild beast upon his face and a focused glare that would rival any Grimm.

"Damn you to hell Bashmu!"

Lights beam down to the entire area and left no shadow to hide in. The others would tremble in fear, soldiers surrounding them from all angles. Just as Bashmu would give one last look back to Zachariah the human would quickly arm himself, taking up shield and rifle, each of which transforming from the swords unsheathed from his, and with gun pointing to the snake faunus a loud shot would roar in retaliate only to be blocked by a soldier of Vail who held it's own shield; The ringing of metal clashing signaling the beginning of the end.

Some few Faunus would try fighting the approaching soldiers while others begin to run, scattering about desperately as they tried escaping, only to be cut and gunned down like livestock to a slaughterhouse. It was blatantly clear the slaves were unprepared and out classed by the trained forces, making it seem like all hope was lost. So much crimson reflect in Zachariah's pain filled eyes but the tears would not show as his mind silenced out emotion for truth, and his heart hardened to abandon his restraint in hurting things that were not Grimm. "Everyone run for the exit now! I'll district them for as long as I can!" Zachariah shouted out to any Faunus who could hear him out before using his last smoke grenade to provide cover for the escapees. With the canister of smoke activating as it hit the ground far to the underground exit Zachariah would stab his shield down into the ground, mechanized tiny drills gripping into the earth to hold the shield in place and create cover. It was from this point Zachariah would try to dig in and give shots back, blindfire at first before giving enough pressure to peek out and start aiming true for the kill.

Bashmu would not say anything. He had nothing to say. The kid did not learn. As the corrupted soldiers went into action, the faunus were getting killed. However, thanks to Zach's quick thinking the damage was severely lessened. The smoke created a big distraction for faunus to safely get out. This event. This terror was enough of a strain that some of them started to unlock not only their aura but their semblance. The massacre being the trigger as they would escape. For Zach, his courage would not go unanswered. His actions would cause great inspiration! Even without weapons, some of the faunus attacked. Many unsuccessful but some able to wrestle weapons away and get guns and weapons away from the trained soldiers. Some would call it luck! But it was not luck at all. 2 of the people who had their semblances awakened were there helping Zach and their comrades. One had the ability electrical in nature. It caused their guns to unable to fire and become magnetically attracted to the ground. The other had the ability of mass shielding. At expense of their aura, the faunus was able to give miniature boosts in defensive powers to comrades as long as they were within his range of view. With these two together, the tide wasn't turning but it was becoming more fair! Now Zach had major pressure to aim and kill.

"HURRY AND FINISH THIS UP!! BACK UP IS COMING IN 10 MINUTES. WE CANNOT LET THEM SEE WHAT'S GOING ON HERE. IT'S THE GOODIES GOODIES FROM COMMANDER ADO! " One yelled. This causing them to increase the pressure and try eradicate them all. The big guns were coming out. Aimed for Zach and the others, 5 rockets would be released aiming at different targets. One was aimed directly for Zach. These corrupted soldiers were not ******** around.

Zachariah de La Vallière

Zachariah apply the pressure, somewhat successfully for a vigilante, and with him leaning slightly to the side he could see where most of the gunfire was being laid from. The Raven haired sniper would retaliate with focused head shots; Loud clinging nosies sounding out before challengers would find their helmet smacked off after another shot or two; Most never to return to their well furbished homes as they left behind light machine guns partially empty of ammo. As he lay down, trying to keep his legs closed in to the coverage of his shield, Zach kept trying to provide aid for those fighting in close but the progression of battle wasn't enough. Looking around desperately to see what could help the retaliators beneficially he eventually called out to another faunus who was focused on protection. "Protect who you need then try to find some cover! I've got a plan!"

As bullets gave strange sound being blocked by domes and walls of protective semblances some of the soldiers would look down to examine their malfunctioning weapon and try to fix them, only to find the weapons pulled away into Faunus hands. The rebels kept fighting, Zachariah began wrapping the red dust crystal around the strong bottle of alcohol he'd taken from the bar, but while this was going on the leader of the current soldiers shouted out his commands; Bullets began hailing down with furry. Just as Zachariah had finished he would peek around his shield and grimace at the sight. The rocketeers had taken aim and fired, rockets being sent their way, and while Zach wanted to protect everyone he was alone and could only extend his aura so much. With no time to think he did the one thing he could and grabbed his shield. The knight ran head first at the rocket aim for him, others thinking him a madman, as he then gave out a battlecry with semblance activating in front of shield. It expanded around his shield, doubling it in size and strength, before a blast surrounded him with smoke not letting a thing through.

It looked at though the rebellious human knight had been killed by the bazooka attack. That was until a single bottle was sent flying out the billow of dark cloud and accompanied by a few blind shots which hit it's mark. With the fire dust attached to the highly strong bottle of alcohol a violent explosion of Zachariah's own came to light, the boom damaging the power generator while fire rained down on the soldiers from above; A shower of burning flames that would not be put out. With the fire however came sparks from the power generator as flames also caught onto the machine, threatening everyone on sight. "Everyone, run! Get out before it explodes!"

The explosions went off and the negativity was swelling in the area. Retreating was coming and the honest truth was that the military was not going to be able to finish them off. Some were going to get away. Imagine execution? Prison? They could not go down like that?!?! How did everything spiral out of control? The rockets that strayed to other targets caused new entrances and with these new entrances came a new issue. Grim! Pouring in, it was a miniature grim invasion and the best part about grim was that they attract to negativity so it was every man for themselves. Stop focusing on the faunus, the military men were desperate! Trying to stay alive, they would shoot at the grim trying to keep them back! This lead to an easier retreat! Moments would pass and about the time 2 minutes had erased from the day the generator would explode. Shrapnel would fly everywhere. This lead to 2 things. 1. The wicked military men did not make it. They were too overwhelmed. As for the faunus and Zach, they would have new issue. Grim! Could they hold off the grim until reinforcements came? And what would happen once the new forces come? Would Zach attack? Would he wait? It was going to be interesting to see. Bashmu was already out of the area. Looking at a distance as the grim flooded the miniature town, he would sneak off while he could.
