"Hmf. I'll remember the way back don't freak out on me already." Nic gave her a frowny face for even thinking that he wouldn't be able to get themselves back to where they're supposed to be! Her other comments made him laugh again though as he happily made his way down. They were ALMOST there. He stopped for a moment. "Do you hear that?" He asked as he could begin to make out the faint sounds of water. "We're almost there come on!" Nicias said as he started walking faster, excited to be able to show her the secret. He stopped just before a stone archway with a simple gate. "Okay, close your eyes and I'll lead you in. No before you ask I won't let you run into anything, I promise." He was almost bouncing with excitement at this point.

Reina giggled, "Me freak out? Never!" She teased lightly, "I just wanted to know if we would have another big adventure on the way back to the palace." She could already imagine how much fun that could be. After all Reina wasn't afraid of danger and she rather enjoyed the thrill of the unknown. That was why she was definitely loving this little venture outside of the palace walls. Even if she got in trouble later it would efinitely be worth it! Her thoughts stumbled to a halt when Nicias pointed out the strange sound and Reina found herself puzzled. Was that water? What could that be? Ooooh this is interesting for sure!
Reina studied him thoughtfully for a moment before finally nodding, "Alright, I trust you." She whispered quietly before closing her eyes and trusting him to lead the way. If anything she knew where to find him if he did decide to trick her in the moment! The thought brought a small mischevious grin to her lips as she squeezed his fingers in anticipation.

"Okay slowly..." He said as he opened the gate, it squeaked a little bit in protest but at this point the young noble wasn't worried. The scary part had been trying to get here undetected. Nicias moved Reina just inside the gate before he said, "Okay you can open your eyes now." In front of them was a medium sized pool of water, a little private Oasis in a way. On one side of it, however, was Nicias' favorite part: a small waterfall. When his Daddy had first showed him this place, he had asked how the waterfall was made since the water that went down seemingly came from no where. His dad had answered that he hadn't known either, that perhaps the water came up from ground before it flowed into the pool of water. Either way, it was one of Nic's favorite places and whenever he had a chance to spend some time with his Father, this is where he always asked to come. "Well, what do ya think?" He waited nervously for her reaction.

Reina held her breath in anticipation. She had been so excited just getting to this secret location that being actually here finally was slightly scary. She was nervous about what she would see when she opened her eyes. Not that she would let Nic know that! Definitely not! It was already strange enough trusting him to guide her along. Yet every step felt secure and she was startled by how much she really trusted her playmate to keep her safe even when her eyes were closed and everything was dark. It was a bit tempting to peek but she had promised to keep her eyes closed sooo....Reina bit the bottom of her lip nervously before finally opening her eyes.
She immediately gasped at the sight before squeezing Nic's hand in excitement, "It's super pretty!" She gushed as she turned to look at him with a wide grin, "How did you even find this place?" Like how was the water here like this? She had never seen such a tiny and beautiful oasis before! It was like one of those small gardens in the noble's manors that decorated the upper streets of Sulburi. But there was no manor just a little area nestled in a small corner of the city out of view. She loved it.

Nic's eyes were wide as he watched her gush in her excitement, his own mouth widened into a large smile. "My daddy first brought me here a while back when he had gotten home from a long trip. He said when he and Mommy first got married they found this place and it was their secret escape. So normally when my Dad has time he brings me. I thought I'd bring you though." He smiled somewhat shyly. "There shouldn't be anybody here. You wanna swim?" He asked excitedly.

"Your Dad is great!" Reina commented with a grin. Technically she should say his highness but honsetly with Nic she was much more relaxed. As long as he didn't mind about honorifics then she wouldn't bother! Glancing about she studied the area more before nodding, "I would love to have this as a secret place as well. What do you think? Can we borrow it from your parents like this?" She grinned towards him, her expression brightening even more at his suggestion of swimming. Of course she would want to swim!
"I guess it saves us from splashing in the fountain back at the palace." Reina joked before tugging Nic forward towards the water, "Let's do it!" She loved the water as much as she loved her wooden weapons. Swimming was one of her favorite hobbies. That much was obvious with all the water messes she had often left behind in the palace hallways after splashing about in the baths or in the garden fountains. Thankfully she was cute so most of the palace staff couldnt' find it in their hearts to get after the child especially when she gave them a bright smile and offered to race up and down the hallways with a rag to help clean up her messes.

He laughed "I'm sure as long as we didn't try to whenever they're both home. I know sometimes Mom likes to work out here if Dad's home. But we can definitely come back." Especially if it made her this happy all the time. "Okay lets swim!" He jumped in after her. He hadn't really thought about whether she COULD in fact swim or not so maybe he better warn her that it gets deeper. "Rei just be careful if you go towards the little waterfall then it gets deeper and you can't stand there yet. So don't go there if you can't swim!" Nic had proven a pretty strong swimmer so he wasn't worried about himself. Hopefully if Reina wasn't he knew enough to keep them from being in any danger.

"That sounds good!" Reina grinned as she splashed into the water. Immediately her body felt so much better as the cooler water washed away the heat and dirt from her skin. Stretching her arms out in front of her, Reina giggled at Nic's caution, "Don't worry!" She winked towards him, "You're talkin' to the girl who sneaks into the deeper baths and scares some of the court ladies by acting like a fish." A flush decorated her cheeks at the admisison, "Just don't let them know it was me, okay?" Still just in case she opted to keep closer to him and darted around the edges, her movements causing smaller splashes as she settled into the waters, "Do you think someone built this and just forgot about it long ago or is it really natural and the city just forgot about it as it expanded?" She knew that their capital city was huge and from the way the adults spoke before it seemed like they just kept expanding as more and more people came to Sulburi. What if the little oasis had just been blocked by all the new houses and people forgot about its existence over the years?

It wasn't hard to believe she'd do that, she seems like that kind of person. "I promise I wont tell any of them. Not like I'd have any reason to even talk to them anyhow." He laughed. The less he had to interact with other nobles the better. It just wasn't very fun and while he knew he'd have to do it in the future, it was something he REALLY wasn't looking forward to. Nic laid back and floated on his back like he'd been taught. "I don't know, really. Neither of my parents really seemed to have any idea of where it came from. Maybe Grampa knows but I don't really want to try and ask him." He laughed at that. It was supposed to be a secret spot after all.

"Yeah no." Reina quickly shook her head before she attempted to follow Nic's lead and float in the water. It took a few attempts, some definite splashing involved, but eventually she managed to half hazardly float next to him, "We should keep it kinda quiet that we know about this, right?" The less people that knew the better! Reina couldn't help but to giggle a little bit, "I'm just surprised you know how to do things like this since all I usually see is you reading." The youngling couldn't help teasing as she peeked towards Nic with a grin, "But I'm really glad that you showed me this place. I really love it, Nic."

"Yeah it probably wouldn't be a bad a idea to just keep it to ourselves." Nic watched from the corner of his eye as she tried to mimic him, eventually she got it and he smiled slightly to himself until her next comment. He stood up rather quickly, "Just because I like to read doesn't mean I don't do or learn other things." Nicias frowned at her. Granted some of the things he didn't necessarily WANT to learn but he still had to. It was then that he noticed her smile and his frown softened as he figured out that she was teasing. "I'm glad you like it."

Oh he was adorable when he was flustered. Reina wanted to tease him more before deciding to behave, "Okay, okay I believe you." She replied with a small smile before twisting so that she was on her feet again in the shallow water. Wading towards him Reina reached out to pull him into a hug, "Truly thank you for sharing. This has been a really fun day so far!" She commented as she squeezed him before letting go again and falling backwards into the water with a playful splash. She cupped some more water and splashed the boy playfully with a giggle, "It is a bit hot though so we really should cool off!" She winked towards him before splashing away from him and towards the deeper water.

A little blush, which later he would blame on the sun, appeared on his cheeks. Nicias gave Rei a little squeeze back before looking at her in astonishment as she used his defenseless position against him. "You'll get payback double for that Reina!" He ran as far as he could until the water got deeper and he began to swim. Maybe he'd be the fish in the bathing pools this time. He was glad this was freshwater so it wouldn't sting his eyes when he dove under. Nic couldn't hold his breath for that long yet so he ended up having to resurface and give away his position but at the least he tried to splash in her direction and dip back below the water before he'd catch what would surely be her answering splash right in the face.

“We’ll see if you can catch me!” Reina was having a blast. The youngling could have not had a better day. Her crimson gaze shone with happiness, almost like rubies in the rays of sunlight, while her cheeks were flushed with exhilaration from playing around in the waters. As Nic dove under she found herself flustered, her legs twisting in the water as she spun to try and spot him beneath the surface. By the time she recognized his form the boy had splashed her and Reina let out a gasp before shaking her dreads, bouncing water droplets across the pool. He had already disappeared by the time she moved to try and retaliate so the girl instead decided that she too would slip beneath the surface of the water.
It was similar to swimming in the baths at the palace, right? Her lips pursed in concentration as she held her breath and kicked forward beneath the waters before having to emerge once more. Without realizing it the girl had swam closer towards the waterfall, its heavy waters blurring her almost from view as she quietly swam around to hide behind the waters.

Nic heard her gasp right as he went underwater and almost had to surface again since he started laughing and lost a little of his air supply but he kept himself together and went around towards where she had just been. When he resurfaced and went to splash her, she was nowhere in sight. Nic gently treaded water to keep himself afloat while looking around the little pool. He started getting worried when he couldn't see her anywhere inside or outside the pool. He dove underwater to see if he could see her anywhere under there, again with no success. Surfacing once more he called out, "Reina can you hear me? Rei are you okay? Where are you?" If anything happened to her when she said she was a good enough swimmer he'd never forgive himself and not just his mommy but Miss Varinia would surely make sure he didn't either. "Rei??" His voice held a little panic in it as he tried swimming around to try and find her.
