"Is it the swimming you miss the most?" She asked. "There are indoor pools. I know it's not the same, but plenty of people settle for it." Sadie was not one of them, not usually. Pools were iffy, in general, with how full of chemicals and body fluids they tended to be, and when she was inside, there was nowhere for the smell of the chlorine to go. She did have a soft spot for the water, but she much preferred lakes, or better yet, the ocean.

"I don't mind going outside in the early spring, even if it's still cold," she said. Her favorite part of the year was when she could watch the growing things come back to life, when any warmth at all felt special. "I just hate how it gets dark as dark in the wintertime."

She brightened at the mention of the music and turned from a pile of brand new electronics some company had donated in order to look at him. "I think I like soundtracks the best, too," she said. "Well, that and soft indie songs that sound like you're sitting around a campfire after a road trip." She nodded at that, because those were some of the best. "But when I was practicing the ocarina, I found a lot of video game soundtracks, and they're lovely, lovelier than I would have thought."

She took another look up and down the tables, but this wasn't so much the kind of things that she really was interested in. She turned to Duncan. "Did you want to go outside?"

Sumner rolled his shoulders. "Well, the swimming is a large part of it, but just being outside is nice too. Even though there is sunshine in the winter, it still kind of makes me wish I lived in some tropical place that never got winter. It always just looks so much better when there appears to be life in nature you know?" There was life in the winter as well, but it was often hard to find, and one usually had to go hunting for it.

Not something that Sumner wanted to actually do if he could stay inside and be warm. Though he couldn't help but chuckle when she replied how she liked spring. "Exactly. I know that winter is more a period of sleep for most things, but it still looks like everything has just stopped. And I agree with the darkness." When it was darker than it was lighter, as amazing as it was to see freshly fallen snow in the moonlight, being in the city meant that it was often plowed and trampled through. Even if one wanted to see all of it in the cold, there really wasn't much to look at.

"I think I'll have to listen to more of those. I'm not too into video games myself, but I have heard some in orchestral mixes which I thought were amazing." He took a look at the table, something he had hardly been doing while they had talked, and nodded to her. Nothing at the table really caught his attention. "Yes, that sounds good. We should be able to hear each other better out there as well."

"Florida, then?" said Pendour, thinking about the way it looked in postcards, with the palm trees and the endless summer sun. "Or farther south, to the islands?" They looked even nicer in the pictures, with fewer awkward skyscrapers and more jungle-edged beaches. She'd been to Puerto Rico once, and she still remembered the sound of the frogs singing in the evenings. Still, it wasn't all perfect.

"It's muggier there than the advertisers would want you to think," she said, "But still lovely, sometimes. Maybe a vacation in the middle of winter would be just the thing to pull out of that rut."

She glanced wistfully at a surfboard that someone had donated and thought about waves crashing around her. Yes, that would be lovely. She was still thinking about it as Duncan started towards the door at her request.

And it would have kept being lovely if someone hadn't rolled out a certain television set.

He nodded. "That's a good place, though it has all of those hurricanes." He didn't want to come out and exactly say that maybe there was something in the water there besides alligators or crocodiles. And with the amount of people he dealt with on a work-day basis that tried his patience, he wasn't sure if he could last down there and with the heat.

He kept this to himself though.

He couldn't help but smile though. "That's true, though I suppose that's why so many people flock down there during the colder months. Can't blame them though, if I could I probably would. Though I guess if I lived somewhere more tropical most of the time I could get used to it."

He hadn't noticed the television set. But he did notice something in his peripheral vision. Something that he hadn't expected, and he couldn't help but mutter a "what the..." before they were both thrown into total chaos!
