"You aren't that small! Keep your butt in that chair!" Whatever inkling of a headache he felt before doubled, and only the soothing smell of curry seemed to cure it.

A quick glance was given to Gan, and he shrugged, amending his thoughts. Curry and maybe Gan flexing for him would cure all ailments. And he was just about to say so before Chip grabbed his attention again.

"It's a biological issue, Chip! You don't need any welding unless you're intending to use it on yourself! Are you? Huh? Gonna melt yourself open? No, I don't think so. Just... Just think for now. You can plot and scheme, but not actually do that tonight. We'll go to a workshop or something tomorrow."

“Grr... Fine, but like I said, not tonight. I don’t.... Okay, I don’t feel comfortable letting you roam about like that right now. If you ever take me seriously just once, it’s this time. You don’t have any powers, your can’t get back to the Negaverse. You’re my little Chip, so I want you safe. Tomorrow we’ll figure something out.” For the first time, Theo’s voice grew soft, almost a plea as he hoped his kitten, well, child now, would listen to him.

As much as they argued and teased one another, he certainly didn’t want him hurt. And Gan here was their best bet to keep safe throughout the night.

“Papa Gan is going to keep us safe for the night, and in the morning, we’ll get you your tools, and maybe go to a park or something.”

“Good. Good.” Theo finally seemed to relax fully, and focused instead on eating his curry for a bit.

Once he was finished, he stood up and stretched, heading over to the sink to atleast rinse his bowl out.

“Gan, can you get a blanket, please? I got a feeling Chip is gonna crash soon.”

"Yup, Crash." While he had a feeling it would happen soon, there was no harm in maybe... Edging it along a little further himself. And by that, he meant forcing Chip to stay still.

"Alright, Gan! Pick him up, and swaddle him! They say swaddling babies helps them sleep, I bet it helps with kittens too!"

There was something really.... Really nice about all of this. A playful, yet stern dad putting a rowdy kid to sleep, the kid's 'guardian' watching over and trying not to laugh.

It almost felt like they were a family. They all belonged together, here, and it made Theo's heart ache.... A pang of something. Something he had been missing for far too long, that was left untalked about and pushed aside since the moment he opened his eyes in the Negaverse.

He shook the feeling off, and took a seat beside Chip on the couch, giving his head a few gentle pats before settling to play absently with his hair. "You're fine, Chip. Nothing wrong with a mighty little thing like yourself resting your eyes, right? Gotta be nice and well rested to tackle this."

"... Huh. Would you look at that? I really was right." It was honestly a shot in the dark, but hey, a quiet kitten meant it was easier to think.

But it was also easier to figure out just how tired he was himself. Thank the gods that Chip wasn't always like that.

"Nah, some do have forms like this, but it's more like... Temporary? They can get big, but they typically stay cat-sized. And have ears and a tail. This bit is new, staying this way? ... Really, Gan, thanks for taking us in. I have no idea where I would have went if you didn't help."

"You're telling me. It's every bit as creepy as you're imagining. But.. That's home." Despite fighting to get Chip to fall asleep, Theo didn't stop petting his hair, ruffling it and poking at his face every now and then. It kept his hands busy.

"Huh, did I never tell you? I think... Maybe a year ago, maybe a little bit less, I kinda just woke up there. I was told I was corrupted and brought into this world through the grace of her majesty, Queen Laurelite or some bullshit, and Hessonite named me. I had no memories, no money, no anything. It was weird... Like, there's a few people I remember, but I've never met them since I was like that, so it couldn't have been important..." His voice trailed off for a moment, then he grinned pretty wide.

"It's pretty cool sometimes though, cuz I'll just out of no where spout out something that I didn't remember before. Like, apparently I was pretty smart, and know alot about plants. Like, alot. I wanna move out one day and decorate a whole house in plants."

“... Well, no. I guess not. I help Chip do some things, and I sometimes just explore the city, but a lot of the time I’m just really bored. The electricity sucks in the Negaverse, so I can’t even play any games.” While there were books... They gave him headaches after a while. Small texts and one eye focusing too much. Were a pain.

“Chemical make ups, poisonous identities, cross breeding. Ideal conditions for growing a number of plants, as well as taking samples of soil to identify its ph balances... Useless information really.” What was he even going to do with the knowledge of those sorts of things?”

“It’s all boring stuff... Negaverse stuff is way more fun, and I like Chip’s dumb experiments.”
