Llyr watched the exchange with some curiosity in his eyes. The girl was leaving? Where was she going? And the poor animal was being left behind? No wonder it had run off. If his family was going somewhere he’d not want to be left to stay behind. Of course he was a little kid right now. It was a scary thought to be without his family for a long time. Especially his siblings. They had been born together and were mostly inseparable. Mostly. They had their moments where they went off on their own, like right now. Llyr was the only one of the three at the beach. He hoped it wouldn’t change in the future but he knew there was no guarantee. ”Yeah.” Was all he said to the helping part. He’d honestly not done much other than point out that her familiar was sneaking up on her. ”Be safe on your trip.” It sounded like the right thing to say. He’d heard it said by the adults enough to know it was what one said to another when they were leaving.

She nodded her head at his statement. Brexxa looked down at Bastul and patted his head before she started to turn away. Mind-step she paused for a second and returned her gaze to the boy. ”Uhm.. I’m Brexxa. Maybe when I get back we can play with Bastul again.” She felt strange just leaving without giving her name. After all, her dad had told her that she was supposed to be friendly with those she met since one never knew if they might save her in the future.
Bastul rubbed up against her, wanting more attention or to keep going she wasn’t sure, and she rubbed the top of his head. ”Alright alright.. We’re going in a second.” To the boy she smiled again. ”My dad and I will be away for a few weeks but after that… will you be around here?” She motioned to the portion of the beach they were on.

He was surprised when the girl gave him a name to call her by. He blinked a few times then nodded his head in understanding. ”Llyr.” He said a bit more shyly. ”My name is Llyr.” This time when his hand came up he rubbed at the back of his head. His short hair was messed up even more but he also discovered the drool in it. Instantly he made a disgusted face as he pulled his hand away and stared at it in horror. The animal had gotten his slobber everywhere! Llyr looked up at Bastul then at Brexxa. ”Maybe no kisses next time.” He nodded his head to reaffirm the statement.

She laughed again as she noticed his face. His comment about no kisses next time made her nod again. ”Deal.” Brexxa could make sure there were no slobber filled kisses the next time she saw him. When Bastul pushed at her again she looked down and grinned. ”Oh now you want to go home..” She snorted at him but ran her hand from the top of his head down his back. ”See ya next time Llyr.” Her hand came up to wave at the boy as she turned fully to walk away this time.

Llyr smiled and gave a wave of his own as the girl and her beast walked away. He watched her for a time, leaning up against the tree. When she was well into the distance he turned away and decided to go back to where he was before he heard her shouting for her animal familiar. He had toys to play with after all.
