Kail would make it back to her desk. The first smell to come into the room was of the salty sea, and fat. It wasn't the most pleasant smell that there was, but there was probably nothing the poor person could do. She would need to actually get their names, so she could put their smell to their names. The next smell was of beautiful wildflowers and a sea breeze, it smelled very girly, however, she wouldn't make any assumptions on gender. She had the files on the two that were supposed to be there, however, the new person she didn't know. Then next smell to come in smelled of alcohol and meat. The alcohol smell wasn't that of like whiskey, but of rubbing alcohol. That was very odd, she didn't think that anyone could smell like that. The last smell was that of a faint soap, paper, a spring breeze, and some fish. She knew that smell, that was Ms. Hayes. Then she would hear Ms. Hayes ask if she could turn on the lights. "Oh, yes. I don't have need for the lights, and the office manager has been getting onto me about my light usage. Please make sure to shut them off when you leave. I have no way to know when they are on."

She would then "look" at the students. There was still a blankness to her stare. Her eyes didn't even react to the lights being flipped on. Her head would move towards the one that smelled of Blubber. "May I get your name? I am not able to see, so I do not know who is who here, other than by scent." She would then look down the line. "If you could all please do this I would appreciate it." She would look towards the one that smelled of alcohol. Her sense of Aura would flash for a moment, as his aura would show itself. He was a big person, she didn't know exact heights, but he was much bigger than the average student that came here. Then the size of him would disappear, peculiar. His aura was not stable at all. It wouldn't be a quick fix sadly, it would be something that they would have to work on over time.

"Now, you two, please state what exactly you believe you need help with?" She was referring to Xanthe and Pyrrhus for this. Danni wasn't here to get help from Kail. Kail didn't know why she was here, but an example would be helpful.

Pyrrhus was mentally questioning if both the girls with him were faunus or not during the journey to the professors office. Valwynn primarily because of the color that seemed to appear on her skin; it would shimmer and fade, almost enough to make him believe his mind was tricking him, but far too often to be so. Xanthe was from her own joke about her mouth being full, revealing many more teeth than Pyrrhus was expecting. While the latter could potentially be excused...it could not be ruled out. And the former was almost certainly so. 'I forgot how subtle the traits could be.' He thought to himself silently, though didn't comment on it. And there was little he could truly do in regards to that while on the tour; he doubted Professor Hayes would appreciate them speaking among themselves and not focusing on the tour. It was easier than expected to not dwell on it though; the mention of an aura and semblance studies teacher was enough to keep his mind occupied...though he did not fail to notice Xanthe speed up with him. He was clueless as to why though, or that they were even racing. It was not something he felt like commenting on though, so he didn't think more of it. Professor Hayes would go ahead to introduce himself and Shaw to the professor, clearing formal introductions at the least. As they were outside the Professors office, and he offered for the other students to go first, Xanthe would be the one to bite the bullet and go in first with a whispered thank you. Pyrrhus would silently smile back to her as she went ahead. Next up to go in was Valwynn. Having not really been focusing on her in particular, he had missed her fearful expression earlier. She too would offer him a small smile and seemed to mouth the words thank you...He wasn't sure if she actually spoke the words or not though, not hearing anything. Or if she even saw the smile he gave her in return.

And thus Pyrrhus would find himself inside the dark office after Xanthe and Valwynn, choosing to stand beside Xanthe; opposite of the side Valwynn stood on. From behind them, he would hear Professor Hayes ask to turn the lights on and Professor Schuer granting consent. She would even say she didn't need lights, causing Pyrrhus to tilt his head curiously. 'Can she see in the dark? I heard faunus could but...No, she said she doesn't know when lights are even on. Why is that?' He wondered to himself, not quite piecing things together for the time being at least. As her gaze would travel to them it would feel...blank. Like nothing was there. When Professor Hayes turned on the lights, causing Pyrrhus to close his eyes and blink a few seconds after to adjust, she seemed perfectly fine as well. Before he could really think, she would turn to Xanthe and ask for her name...before saying she couldn't see. A flood of embarrassment went through Pyrrhus. 'Of course... that is why she couldn't tell when the lights were on...' He thought to himself, embarrassed she had to say it for him to figure it out. It also made sense for why she wasn't always looking at them while speaking. She would go on to say she went by scent, and then asked them all to introduce themselves. Given she spoke to Xanthe first, Pyrrhus would let her speak and give it a moment before he himself spoke; noticing her blind eyes travel to him shortly after. It was a little unsettling, to say the least. "My name is Pyrrhus Draco Cináed." He would respond in an almost drilled in manner, feeling she wanted the full name and just being accustomed to say so to those of authority.

She would then look to the two of them, and ask them what they needed help with. Feeling in a slight panic, despite having prepared his own questions for her for help, as he was not prepared to be asked such things... He took a silent breath to steady his mind and heart. His mind had drawn a blank, and even if he knew what he wanted help with...the words were temporarily escaping him. Primarily too because...in the presence of others...he wasn't sure he wanted to reveal he didn't know his semblance and couldn't activate his aura. It was something every huntsman needed and he was lacking it. He would give a brief look to Xanthe. "You go ahead first." He would say, forcing a smile to his lips, with a friendly tone. He needed time to remember his questions again, and to...not sound inept when he asked his own. Letting her be first, he would thankfully remember his own question just as Xanthe would finish. Seeing it as more of a answer when ready type of deal than wait to be called on, since she asked for both of theirs, he would speak soon after. "Well...I believe I need help with controlling my aura. And by extension...finding my semblance." He would say truthfully, head turned down slightly to hide the expression on his face. It did hurt his pride a little to ask for help, and that he could not do what he expected most students here did; he had attended sigil, and there had been those younger than him who could use their aura and knew their semblances. So the expression he was hiding was a bit of shame.

Xanthe Shaw

The lights blinked on and Xanthe blinked a few times to adjust, she had been prepared to stand in the dark after incorrectly assuming that it was some sort of test. She was a little disappointed that it wasn't to be honest, but there was plenty of time for that later. She glanced around the room to get a scope of things, her eyes lingered on the heating lights for a moment before looking back at the professor. The air was dry and the room was a little too hot for her gills, it was times like these that she relished that she didn't have to keep them wet. Her statements about the lights and the vacant look in her eyes told Xanthe she was blind. She could have worked it out herself, there had been a village elder who suffered from a similar affliction. Similar in the sense that Xanthe doubted the professor lost her sight after drinking a barrel of medical alcohol and aftershave. It wasn't the drink that did it though, it was annoying his pet crab and passing out. Lessons were learned that night.

She was pulled back out of her head by the professor asking her a question. "Xanthe Shaw." She placed her hand over her chest and bowed slightly. A part of her knew the gesture was pointless, but a larger part of her was suspicious of the blind. If she was anything like her village elder then the lack of her sight had probably sharpened her other senses. She contemplated what she probably smelled of to the professor, it didn't take long. It it wasn't the sea it would be seals, she had killed, gutted, cooked and eaten more seals than most people could contemplate. She had found after coming to Vale that people didn't think of them as vermin to be hunted and weren't happy with the idea. As such she didn't voice her concerns or voice an explanation. Her second question, relating to what she needs help with, caused Xanthe to pause for a second. Pyrrhus filled the void by letting her go first. "I'd like to get more control over it and get used to the timings on it. If I could switch it on and off... Is that possible?" She actually had a lot of things that she wanted to do with it, but perhaps that was better for a one on one. Besides Pyrrhus was looking like he was ready. Xanthe was a little shocked to hear that he didn't have a semblance but reasoned that he must have been damn good with that sword to be here as a student.

Faunus eyes had already adjusted to the dark, naturally discerning the details of the room and the outline of the professor just as easily as she would have in broad daylight. Those same amethyst hues squinted against the light as the switch was flicked on, blinking several times to adjust once more. Her eyes never quite met Professor Shcuer's gaze, but perhaps this was one of the only situations where eye contact was not exactly an important social conduct. It gave the poor girl a break from the pressures of her anxiety, a chance for that swelling balloon in her chest to deflate, if only slightly, before it ruptured against her ribcage. However, Dani wondered if the blind teacher could feel her gaze on her, or lack there of, the same way she could feel her sightless eyes peering at her. As those vivid orbs landed on her, the little jellyfish felt her heart flip frantically in her chest. Swallowing hard the girl would speak almost breathlessly, barely a whisper. "Daenerys Valwynn." Gemstone orbs would flicker up to the professor, peering at the woman through dark lashes before dropping quickly back to the ground. Training her gaze on her feet, delicate fingers would twist anxiously through pink locks, letting the strands fall back over her shoulder to hide her face, and the slight color that had seeped into her cheeks, from the peers to her side. It didn't seem to be something she could help, and she certainly didn't have any control over the blushing. It was like an involuntary reflex that happened whenever attention was drawn to her. At least now, the rosy hue was only faintly visible against her iridescent skin.

Grateful for the attention to be moving away from her and onto the other students, the tension could almost be seen leaving the girl's body as small shoulders slumped ever-so-slightly and her hands relented their restless fidgeting to fall back at her side. She wasn't here to ask Professor Schuer for help. Of course there was always room for improvement, but her semblance was one of the only things she'd ever truly been at peace with, one of the only things she truly comfortable with. While her weapon had in time become an extension of her body, it had taken time and an incredible amount of practice to get the that point. Her semblance came much more naturally, after all, the water was a friend to her. It always had been.

The panic only really set after the realization that while she wasn't here to ask for assistance, she was here for another purpose, a vastly more terrifying reason. Just as quickly as the tension was released, it consumed her small frame once more. Only this time rather than color flooding into her cheeks, the blood drained from her face, leaving her pale and wide-eyed. A bitter taste filled her mouth as her heart thrummed frantically in her chest. Shrinking in on herself, arms folded tightly across her chest as if she could somehow melt in on herself, she was left praying that they might just forget that she was here, rather than be asked to demonstrate. What was she even supposed to do? Its not like she was all that impressive. How was she supposed to help either of her peers with these problems? Its not like either if them are really going to be interested in some silly water trick. Dropping her heard, amethyst hues would silently watch the interactions while anxiously tugging on the hem of her sleeve.

                                                              ⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯

Aurelia was well aware of her blindness, of course, however it would have been rude to simply flick them on without asking. Kail could be developing photos or have some other light-sensitive project going. She flicked on the lights without comment while Kail asked for each student to identify themselves. She contented herself with standing in the back of the room and observing the exchange from behind. Would Kail be able to give these two the mastery over their aura and semblances needed to push back the grimm? Would Valwynn ever be more than a quivering ball of nerves? Perhaps she ought to speak to Zaffre about how they can build her confidence in order to turn her into a warrior. That or have Rachel throw her in the arena with a grimm.

Kail would close her eyes, nod and smile. She had names to smells now. She would be able to identify them. However, there was one issue, the aura coming from Dani was nervous. It almost drowned out the flashes of Pyrrhus' aura. She would open her eyes and look towards the direction that Daenerys was in. "Dear child, there is no test today. If you want to rest, please feel free...Actually, cancel that, I have something you can do. Can you make us some tea? I know when I'm nervous, the motions of making tea calm me down." Her voice was motherly for a person who never had her own child.

She would move her hands to her desk, There were files that were listed in normal writing, and a raised form of writing. Her fingers would glaze over the top. She would get to one with Xanthe's name on it. She would flip it open, her fingers scanning over raised bumps. It would take her a minute, but she finally got to her Semblance. "Ah, I see, a form of gravity manipulation." She would then move further down "According to the file, you can make yourself denser with the gravity. Is this correct?" She would then scroll further, it seemed that the ability made it hard to move. "One of the best things you can do is to practice, but I want to know what you mean by better control it." Her voice is still sweet.

Then she would look above Pyrrhus' head, and would start to talk to him. "Now, Pyrrhus, what have you tried to do in order to activate your aura? For Kail, hearing it from him was much more important. Once he would tell her what he tried, she would nod her head. "I see, if you don't mind, I do feel flashes from you. I'd like to see if touching you would help me read your aura better. The touch can just be you touching my hand." Her voice rang out. If he would let her, then she would try to read him.

He didn't know whether it was because she was aware the Professor was blind or not, but he would keep that question to himself and just chose to believe she was doing it out of politeness more than anything. Which was something he could respect about her. He would listen attentively as she mentioned she just wanted better control over hers. He was curious as to what her semblance actually was, but figured it was a conversation for later at least. And that, if they were going to be helped, he may be lucky enough to see it firsthand too. He would also note from his peripheral that... Daenerys was not doing the greatest. Every time he looked towards her she always seemed like she somehow became more and more nervous and shrink in on her self. He was almost worried she may shrink herself away into nothing. But such thoughts soon fled his mind as he heard Professor Schuer speak. She had turned to Daenerys almost creepily in his mind, only because he knew her to be blind and how accurate she was looking to her, before telling the student to relax and then make tea to help with her nerves. Pyrrhus wasn't sure giving the girl such a task would help, or that it was a good sign a blind person could tell she was so nervous, but he hoped the Professors suggestion would help her. He would then watch at the professor "looked", or probably more aptly felt, around her desk for files. She seemed to quickly pick one out from the few, hands gliding over them, and go down it as if she were reading it. 'So this is how that looks for them.' He thought curiously, never having seen it before.

And then the professor would speak, saying that Miss Shaw had a gravity manipulation semblance that could make herself denser. Pyrrhus looked at Xanthe for a moment, curiosity in his eyes at the mention of it, then back to Miss Schuer. 'That sounds like it could be powerful.' He silently thought to himself, listening with renewed interest. The professor, unfortunately, did not say anymore on it besides the fact she should practice it more and wanting clarifications on what she meant specifically with better control. He would wait to see what Xanthe said, remaining respectfully silent, as he awaited his own turn. And then...she would turn to look at Pyrrhus. Well, more specifically, above him. While she had seemed dead on in looking at Daenerys, she seemed to have trouble isolating where Pyrrhus was for whatever reason. Which, at the least, felt less creepy and less worrying to him. She would then ask what he had tried in the past for it. He spent a good minute thinking back, trying to recall all that they had tried to find his before he would respond. "To put it simply, varying types of danger. Be it weather training to try and put it up, intense fighting, trying to protect myself from projectiles...I tried all that kind of stuff to try and see if it would come out in my time of need. And also just trying to will it on but...no real success there unfortunately." He would respond simply, not sure if there was any other way to actually get an aura to come out than just trying to will it or hoping it did when you were in dire situations. She would then say she felt flashes of aura from him, strangely enough to him, before saying that by touching her she may be able to read it better. Not saying any reason not to, he would nod...before mentally berating himself at it. "Sure, i'll reach for your hand now." He would say, remembering she would need to hear him say it since she was blind. And he would then reach for her hand to clasp it in his own. Unsure how this would help her read it, but willing to try nonetheless.
                                                                ♞ Post count: 5

Xanthe Shaw

Xanthe glanced over at Dani and wondered if she was alright, her demeanor screamed 'go away' and yet she had followed the deputy headmistress without complaint. Although, perhaps, that spoke more about their guide than the girl herself. With the suggestion that Dani go and make tea, Xanthe looked back at the professor to see her feeling up her paperwork. Xanthe's prior suspicions were confirmed when she was then asked about her semblance. Clearly the woman could read her aura like a book, as it turned out Xanthe had no concept of braille, it was as foreign as the word gravity had been until coming to Vale. "Yes, that's right. I can make myself heavier." She agreed, the science of it and the specifics were new to her. She knew herself how it worked and what happened when she turned it on, it was just difficult to explain it to others in familiar terms to them. "Practice, as it just turning it on and walking around?" She agreed that would probably be useful, it was difficult to get used to the rapid change in weight. In regards to her query about control, Xanthe answered in the form of questions. "Is it possible to make other people... Denser. Or become lighter? Or if I could turn it off at will?" She had been having a recurring nightmares of activating it and sinking in water, then hitting the bottom and drowning in silence surrounded by the dark. She hadn't quite gotten over recent events. "Or something." She concluded after giving herself a moment to push though thoughts back down and out of her mind.

Despite the kind, motherly voice of the professor, the tiny jellyfish flinched at the sound of it. It was almost as if she was expecting a reprimand of some kind. Ridicule for her timid ramblings, a lecture due to her anxious mishaps. Dani knew she was acting a fool, but she could not help it. This was what always happened when her nerves got to be too much, when that balloon within her chest swelled evermore until it was pressing uncomfortably against her rip cage, threating to rupture at any moment. It was like she didn't have complete control of her body, her mind swarming with far too many qualms for her to focus. Biting down on her lower lip, the girl would fidget, tugging restlessly at the hem of her shorts. It took several moments for her to recognize the true tone of Kail's gentle words. Blinking in surprise, the girl would slowly bring amethyst hues to peer meekly at the woman's voice. Eyes would widen, staring in shock for several moments. She wasn't sure what exactly she had been expecting it, but it certainly hadn't been such a tender response. An offer to rest, to leave and make tea. Dani's expression would become unreadable for a moment. Torn between appreciation, and further embarrassment for having been caught in such a distressed state. There it was again, that all-too familiar feeling of heat creeping up her neck and into her cheeks. Silence would draw ever on, and as she came to the realization that she needed to say something, to respond, her heart would begin thrumming rapidly in her chest once me. The constant beat of a little humming bird, wings fluttering against her rips. She would nod, pink locks bouncing around her. It took several more moments for her to find her voice. "Y-yes. Thank you, p-professor." Ducking her head, the girl would hurry past them, eyes trained firmly on her feet. Both to avoid eye contact as well as to ensure she didn't trip and make things even worse for herself.

Almost immediately some of the tension left her body and that balloon in her chest deflated, if only slightly. Her chest would rise as she sucked in a deep breath, holding it for several moments before letting it out slowly, catching pink strands of hair on its breeze. Hands would fall back to her side, swaying slightly as she walked towards the back counter. In that moment, when she was sure everyone's attention had moved away from her and on to more important matters, it was easy to see the grace that usually remained hidden beneath nervous clumsiness. The willowy limbs and the soft steps. The way she swayed slightly with each step like she was wading carefree through water. It was hard to believe she was the same girl and strange to think that she could go from a bumbling, rambling, ball of nerves, to the petite, graceful girl she was now. It remained that way until she reached the auto kettle and the rest of supplies and the realization that she as making tea for everyone. Tea that she would drink. Tea that she didn't even know if it would taste good. Stopping suddenly in her tracks, the girl would become stiff with fear. When was the last time she had made tea? Probably not since she was a small girl, living on the island. Her mother had walked her through the steps, but the memories were so faded. It brought a small, sad smile to her lips, salty liquid burning her eyes. Such precious memories, tainted so harshly by the grief. Her mother was gone. Her home was gone. Struggling to push the memories away before they could make her cry, the next though bombarded her mind before she could stop it. Jentel... Jentel would know how to make tea. Sometimes she still forgot... Forgot he wasn't here anymore either. The thought made her heart ache, throbbing dully with in her chest. Eyes burning, she blinked, splashing tears onto her face and she wondered... How is it that something as trivial as tea could cause her to hurt like this. What's wrong with me? Did it ever get better? Would she ever be able to get through the day without falling to pieces?

Daenerys was still for several moments, frozen in place. Thankfully her grief-stricken expression was hidden from all of them. After a moment she steeled herself, reaching up and wiping the tears quickly from her face. Stepping forward, she would finish her way to the counter, forcing herself to focus on the task at hand and nothing more. Filling the kettle with water, she would take a deep breath, counting on the exhale. One, two, three. Waiting for it to come to a boil, again she would force herself to breathe. One, two, three. Again, as she let the tea bags steep. One, two, three. Each breath became easier, lighter. Each task a sufficient distraction. Perhaps Kail had been right after all. Perhaps that was all the girl needed, a moment to herself. She hadn't ever had the chance to recover from her break down this morning, let alone the embarrassment that had ensued after running into Pyrrhus. Dani was sure it wasn't the tea, after all, she wasn't even sure she had actually done it right. Then again, how hard could it really be? But that time alone, to let herself let go, to let herself shatter away from prying eyes, to let herself breathe... It was something she would never be able to thank the professor enough for, even if she tried. Just as timid, but not nearly as anxious, Dani would return to the group with a tray clutched tightly to her chest, like she was afraid she might drop it. For a moment she stood there quietly, listening curiously as her peers spoke of their semblances and Kail offered her advice. She would wait until Kail had finished her reading on Pyrrhus before saying anything. She didn't want to interrupt anything important. "I um.. excuse me." She murmured, her accented voice was still quiet, but she was calm enough to get the words out with out tripping and stumbling over the syllables. "I wasn't sure if everyone wanted some or not..."

Unbeknownst to Daenerys, a pair of cool blue eyes followed the girl as she went to make tea. For a brief moment, she caught a glimpse of the huntress she knew Dany could be one day. The huntress they needed her to be. It didn't take long for that to come crumbling down though, as the girl seemed to collapse at the prospect of actually making tea. Something would need to be done to bolster the girl's courage and get her out of her own headspace. Perhaps an afternoon with one of the more confident students, or an easy mission?

Her eyes returned to the two new students sitting before Kail. Xanthe with questions of what was possible with her semblance, while Pyrrhus explained he'd been trying to activate his semblance through what was essential thrill-seeking. Trying to force your semblance to activate for the first time was usually an unsuccessful, fruitless activity, leading to a lot of frustration. Aurelia was curious what advance or ideas Kail had for the young man. Her eyes returned to the shaken jellyfish, clutching a tray to her chest as if it was some sort of shield. "Tea would be lovely Miss Valwynn, thank you."

                                      • Kail would look back to Xanthe. She was asking if there was more she could do with it. If she could do it on others, or even make people lighter. Kail would let out a small smile. "Semblances grow as a person grows. My own semblance allows me to modify snakes and snake faunus. It has allowed me to be able to see with thermal vision, or become strong enough to squeeze the life out of Grimm. If I believed that it would develop itself to allow me to move like a snake as well, at your age, I wouldn't have believed it. However, I find the ability very useful." The Teacher would give a little chuckle. Practicing first with what you know is the best way to do it. I do hope that one day you can cause others to almost float away, but I can't guarantee it."

Then Kail would hear Pyrrhus say that he was going to grab her hand. She nodded her head. He was more polite than most people who came in here. She felt his rough hands come into her soft hands. He placed his firmly in her hands, grasping it as if he could lose it, but not so hard that she wouldn't be able to slip out if she needed to. The callouses on his hands felt like those seasoned with a sword. The fact he was joining school with almost no aura was amazing. She commended him for it, even though it was reckless.

A dark green aura would swirl around the teacher, as she started to try to read his aura. "Pyrrhus, I am going to try a method that you haven't tried. I'm going to try to activate your aura with my own. Once I do this, it will take time for you to fully gain your aura, and reveal your semblance." She would use their connected arms to find his chest. If he let her, she would place her hand on there, and pulse aura through his body. This took a lot of aura from the activator, but it was worth it.

He felt a little bad for the girl given her extreme anxiety, but there was little he could do at the moment from where he was. He hoped Professor Schuer's suggestion would help the girl out by giving her something to focus on; a way to expend all that nervous energy. 'Though I suppose the stress of expectation could also work against her...' he thought fleetingly, primarily because it was a damned if you do, damned if you don't kind of situation. 'I suppose this is one who needs the advantage given to her,' he thought before his focus would shift to Miss Shaw and Professor Schuer. Admittedly nervous himself given his own embarrassment with lack of aura and semblance. In the interim though, he would listen intently to what the two women immediately by him were discussing. He would learn that while she could make herself denser/ heavier, she could not do so to others nor could she make them lighter. Or even voluntarily end it early it seemed. 'That would be very troublesome in a fight if she could not dispel it at will,' Pyrrhus noted silently. Judging by the smile on the Professor, Pyrrhus felt she had an answer to such questions. She would explain how semblances grow with the person, and explained her own semblance. 'Snakes...' he thought silently. They weren't known as the most noble animal; in fact the opposite given the danger they possessed. But it was interesting to hear it allowed her to modify snakes and snake faunus; confirming she was one as well in that she could get thermal vision. She would then chuckle, and finish with saying Miss Shaw needed to practice to find out all she could do with it, but that there was no guarantee it would do such things later.

'Uncle Azelhart may desire to work and compare notes with her in future,' he thought quietly to himself. They both knew a lot in aura, or so he believed at least, so perhaps together they would be able to figure out something for him. Though this was not a proposition he would make himself; he would just have to write to his uncle later and let him know. Having now spoken with Professor Schuer on all he tried, he would consent to her request and gently if firmly grasp her hand. He would feel hers were surprisingly soft to the touch; though he wasn't sure how to interpret that given she worked here. Normally he would assume it meant she was someone who was not as accustomed to hard labor, but in this school he was not sure he could apply that logic. He would note a dark green aura begin to surround her; himself getting a bit startled by it as his grip on her hand tightened ever so slightly but he recovered quickly as she began to speak and explain. His grip on hers relaxing just as quickly as he understood what she was doing. She was going to try and activate his aura with her own; with a warning it would take time regardless. Pyrrhus would nod, out of habit, before he would speak swiftly. "Alright, I am ready,' he would say as he mentally braced himself as he had no idea how this would feel. Before it would occur though, he would feel her arm touch his chest. Having an idea of what she was going to do, and being nowhere as surprising as swirling aura, he did not flinch nor resist as she did so.

As she began the process, or so he assumed, Pyrrhus felt a weird and unsettling feeling of...something on him. Traveling up and around his body, constricting almost as a snake would. While it did not hurt, nor seem to do any harm he could feel, it left a chill that pervaded his being as as he felt it around him. Had this not been an instruction moment, he may've broken contact just to be rid of the feeling. But, given this was said to try and help him, Pyrrhus forced himself to take a few deep breaths as it continued for what felt like minutes to him but was much shorter in reality. His own eyes closed, he would feel the "snake" reach something within him by where his heart would be. For a brief moment, a fiery red aura would appear around him...but not like normal. While more visible, it almost looked like a flame consuming him than a red outline before it quickly dispersed within seconds; almost as if it were being sucked back into him, back into that spot by his heart. To Kail though, with her aura reading, she could feel the heat of the fire since she had used her aura on his. And with her aura sensing, she would see something alongside it. When the flame had formed it had also seemed to be feeding something above him...as for a moment, she would see a fiery red dragon of aura rise from him and take flight before quickly fading away. His aura growing unstable again but...seeming to be stronger than earlier. Pyrrhus, for his part, had felt a strange and surreal surge for a moment before it quickly faded. Eyes opened now, he would look around with a brief look of confusion on his face. "Did...did it work?" he would ask, looking to the professor but unable to will his aura on as he tried. He would, after Kail responded, hear Miss Valwyns words; also hearing the Deputy Head-Mistress say she would like some. He would give Miss Valwyn a friendly smile and nod his head to indicate he would like some as well; though remained quiet in case anything else would need to be mentioned or addressed first.

    Xanthe Shaw

Xanthe eyes widened, an involuntary reaction to being impressed and nodded to herself, it was easy to see the benefits of being a snake faunus and being able to manipulate snakes in all their forms. She wondered if that extended to eels, she wasn't a biologist but felt eels were basically snakes that lived underwater and created slime. She had been told that snakes were slimy by a children's book and never had reason to question the fact until now. The professor didn't look slimy but perhaps that was to do with her semblance, and cleaning bills. Seemed rude to ask, so stored that line of questions away for later. Probably for someone who wouldn't be offended if it turned out she was horribly uneducated on the matter. Xanthe realised that this was a 'Anything is possible, but only time will tell' speech and resigned herself to a slow nod, which then turned into, "I understand, miss and will keep you notified if anything happens." when she realised how little a nod would convey in that moment. Not much else she could say, neither of them knew what would happen and Xanthe was opposed to just activating it without a good reason. Practice included.

She moved aside when Pyrrhus took center stage and moved closer to Aurelia, as it seemed more polite than venturing deeper into the office. Dani seemed to be getting to know that kettle well, Xanthe could sympathize, she too has been given a expensive kettle as a present for moving into the dorms that just wouldn't boil water like the stove would. She supposed it had something to do with the various knobs and buttons on the side or the tray at the bottom that needed something that she didn't have. Worse than that, it beeped constantly for water and whatever the slots demanded. In the end she had put it back in the box and was now waiting for a holiday when she could gift it away. But it was under her bed, a constant reminder of her failure. Dani returned eyes red and Xanthe shared her pain, in that moment the two were one, I understand. Xanthe mouthed at the girl, finding in her a kindred spirit. "No! I stand against the tyranny." She crossed her arms, in solidarity against the machine. In her musings she had missed most of what was happening with Pyrrhus, she saw the interaction but hadn't really seen it, a part of her knew she had missed something cool, but perhaps that was for the best. Some things were personal.

A small nod would cause pink locks to sway about her petite fingers. Violet eyes would peer at the head mistress for the briefest of moments before fleeing back to the tray in her hands, long lashes casting shadows upon her cheeks. Delicate fingers would clasp one of the glasses gently, trembling slightly as she lifted it up from the tray. Dani had poured the tea prior to walking to avoid the possibility of spilling in front of her peers and professors and making even a bigger fool of herself. Even so, she wasn't quite in the clear yet, she still had to hand out the glasses without spilling or even worse, dropping the tea. Biting down hard on her lower lip, the girl watched helplessly as the earth-colored liquid sloshed haphazardly with in the glass, very nearly splashing over the sides. Somehow the little jellyfish managed to keep the tray balanced on her hip, while also handing the cup of tea to the headmistress without any major consequences. Sending out a silent thanks to whatever power ruled over this world, she'd clasp tightly onto the tray once more. A soft, relieved breath passed through her lips, catching stray strands of hair. It was perhaps too early to celebrate, but at the moment it was impossible for her to imagine a worse fate than spilling tea down the front of Beacon's headmistress.

It was in her moment of relief that Xanthe managed to catch her gaze. Dani would peer curiously at the shark faunus, watching the contour of her mouth as it shaped the silent words. It was easy enough to interpret what she was trying to say, and for a moment the girl was disheartened. She'd tried so hard to compose herself before she returned, but all composure in the world couldn't mask the redness of her eyes. A soft heat would fill her cheeks and her chin would drop, letting her hair fall over her shoulders like a shield. Discouraged that again she'd unraveled and let her grief and distress slip through, gemstone eyes would stare at the tray in her hands as if she were afraid to shift her gaze anywhere else. It was the girl's sudden movements that caught her attention once more. Gazing at her through the hair, she couldn't help the smile that tugged at her lips as she made her stand against automatic kettles. It was then that Dani realized the girl was simply trying to relate to her, to show she wasn't alone in her stress. In her anxiety, it was easy to forget that she wasn't alone, and easier to mistake the eyes on her for judgement, rather than compassion. Xanthe was a reminder of that. Shaking her heart out of her eyes, a small laugh would bubble from her chest. Amused both with herself as well as the girl's dramatics. Her laugh was soft and melodic, and her smile lit up her face. "An atrocity really." She would agree, voice still soft, but lacking all signs of her usual stutter. Somehow her chest felt lighter, as if even that small gesture had broken through the doom and gloom that had been surrounding her heart. Perhaps it was simply that she felt less alone. "Thank you."

Reaching down to the tray, Dani would pick up the second cup, extending the tea towards Phyrrus instead. She had missed most of what had happened between the professor and her peer, but perhaps that was the best. She knew if she were in her shoes, she wouldn't have wanted an audience. Even so, observant as she was, amethyst hues didn't miss the confusion on his face. The expression only lasted for the smallest of moments, but the apprehension remained in the air. The jellyfish was almost afraid to move, as if her interruption might ruin whatever was at work. Remaining silent, she'd press the cup gently into his hand before stepping back again. She waited again, not wanting to interfere or interrupt anything important. So once more she would wait until the professor had responded to Phyruss. Setting the tray down on a nearby table, leaving a cup for Xanthe in case she happened to change her mind, Dani would approach Kail with a singular cup of tea. She wouldn't drink her own until everyone else that wanted some was served. "Um... p-professor, I can put the cup into your hands... if you'd like." It seemed that the girl had calmed some, still timid and nervous, but not nearly as distressed as ever. Perhaps making the tea really had helped, or perhaps finding a connection with Xanthe, however small, had put her at ease.

The anxiety was very strong as Dani entered the range of Aurelia's semblance once more. How could one be so anxious about tea? It wasn't hard to see she was concentrating hard on passing the teacup to Aurelia. With the pass being successful the sensation of relief swiftly followed. A Grimm surely was more frightening than herself. An idea struck Aurelia, for Dani wasn't the only student in the school who faced social anxiety. One which could be tested during the tour.

The relief was short-lived, anxiety quickly replacing it. Aurelia did her best to ignore it, icy blue eyes focusing on Pyrrhus and Kail. Would their aura professor be able to solve the student's aura problems? Being a student at Beacon was tough enough with a defensive aura. Without it, she wasn't sure how long he would make it. Pyrrhus's flashed, almost appearing like flames. However, something strange happened. A sudden uplifting feeling caused Aurelia to look towards Dani. The girl laughed! She looked from Dani to Xanthe, as the former thanked the latter before taking the last two teacups to the desk. Pyrrhus's aura had vanished, though Aurelia had missed the how of it. She gave an annoyed tsk. More often than not, the passive portion of her semblance was a hindrance.
