Arnica considered Narcissus' words but nodded all the same. It was always good to have people you trusted but he wouldn't have subscribed to trusting anyone blindly--not any organization, and certainly not anyone he'd just met. It was a fair concern and not one he held against the other Dark Mirror Senshi.
"Everything gets easier with time and knowledge. Don't feel pressured to push yourself any more than you're comfortable--both will come. As for the mirrors," he shrugged. "Destiny City has a lot or art displays. You'd be surprised how many mirrors are out in the open and get to stay there with the excuse of 'art'. And the city looks out for them. So that works out for us. But," he shrugged and gestured to the mirror back here. "There's a ton of these hidden everywhere. In the parks, down alleys. I don't know if someone maintains them--pulls them out of the way on trash nights, or if they're just already out of the way. But this one's been here for three or four weeks without any sort of issue so," he shrugged a bit.
"Don't get me wrong, they do go missing or get broken, and even if you know the mirror by heart, if it gets moved, it's useless. But someone goes out of their way to leave more lying around--and I've put a few out, myself."

"Right..." Narcissus agreed with a small nod. Even if he may want to figure out more of this new, odd portion of his life, he couldn't simply drop everything happening in his normal life. Neither could he prioritize 'Narcissus' over 'Basyl,' no matter how bizarrely intriguing this powered stuff was, and no matter how much he wanted to do his part in this war... whatever his part was. Basyl still had goals to reach, and he couldn't help but feel like Basyl's career would be more beneficial to the community at large than Narcissus would be trying to chase off dark monsters.
He made a low sound reminiscent of a whine and tightly twisted at his hair around a finger. There was nothing to do besides wait, give the time he could to understanding Narcissus, and try to stay out of trouble until he knew more.
"Hopefully I'll be able to find them if I- when I need them... I did have some trouble mirrorwalking earlier," he admitted, thinking back onto how he'd smacked his face into his own mirror not that much prior. "So I'm not sure if I should try too hard to rely on them if I'm trying to get away from something. It wouldn't be any good to get caught without a surefire way to escape."
Narcissus turned a tired smile Arnica's way. "I'm glad you were here tonight, though. It beats wandering around not knowing what's going on or where to go or what to look for."

Arnica couldn't help but smile at that. "Well, maybe I was just in the right place at the right time. But I'm happy for it too. It's nice to meet someone new. Most of the people I've met in the Court have been through my sister. So, even if you know her, at least this feels like meeting you myself."
Not exactly destiny or fate, but it was something and that was enough. "Don't feel so bad about the whole mirror thing, either. I, ah. I've run into a few too. I guess I wasn't focusing enough--not clearly, maybe. Or maybe the mirror I was trying to go through got moved. It's a learning process and I'm a work in progress." He shrugged. "But I think you should keep practicing. Me, too, I mean. The more you practice, the better you get, right? And it could wind up saving your life. Maybe one night we can pull out a few mirrors and practice. I'll bring a few drinks so we can blame any mistakes on the beer and laugh it off when we run into the mirrors, how's that sound?" he asked, cracking a smile at the thought.

Narcissus gave a short laugh. "I don't really meet people at all," he admitted. And then immediately thought better of it. "Well, no, no, I mean, I do, but it's always through some kind of work, and it's not always a pleasure..." There were of course his regulars who came into the coffee shop, but Basyl only worked there when it was convenient with his school schedule.
And then there were the other students like himself. If they wanted to pass it was almost a requirement that they were together when it was appropriate to do so. They were more colleagues than friends, just there when something needed to get done.
And of course he saw new patients almost every day...
But they typically weren't thrilled to be at a hospital, not thrilled to be in the care of some awkward student, not thrilled that to get better something had to change. They just typically weren't thrilled, in general. So there weren't a ton of options for Basyl to just meet someone and have a good time about it. The middle of a war hadn't really seemed like the appropriate place, either, but maybe he'd been thinking about it all wrong? Maybe it wasn't so odd for someone going through the same harrowing experience of being a senshi fighting for the safety of the planet to look for camaraderie between themselves...
"A-anyway..." He twiddled his hair between his fingers. "I'd really enjoy that," Narcissus replied with a smile. He didn't add that he wasn't sure when he'd have time for such things, but he was sure Arnica understood. "I hope you don't mind me texting you sometimes, even if it's not directly about mirrors and senshi and wars and the like."

"No, no--I don't mind at all!" Arnica insisted. "I look forward to it." He smiled again, a genuine expression of his excitement.
He had plenty of opportunities to meet people but there was always a level of caution with them--investigating a story, taking photographs for an event. It wasn't personal, and most people didn't want to be friends with you when you were writing a story about them. Nobody pays attention to the photographer, he's in the background. Where he's supposed to be.
Capture other people's moments, not your own.
"Text me whenever you want. We'll find time to meet up. I have a very flexible schedule. And Kibi and I live together, maybe sometime we'll be able to work out dinner plans or something. Whatever works for you."
He smiled. "No pressure."
It was leading into a parting of ways, he knew that; Arnica had his own errands to run and he had no doubt that Narcissus did as well. The mirror was in front of him, he could slip away now, so he lingered close to it.
"Just, ah. Be safe! I've gotta wake up early in the morning so I think this is going to be the end of the night for me. But I want to see you again. So stay out of trouble and keep yourself in one piece, all right?"

Narcissus blinked in shock as if hearing it for the first time that Arnica and Kibirev were related. Of course the first mentioning of it surprised him, but it got him all over again to hear that the three of them could maybe make some kind of plan together. It would be so convenient to be able to get along with both of them. And to see them both at the same time! Basyl didn't have an extraordinarily flexible schedule: there wasn't much time for friends, but if he could smash all his friends into meeting together- "That would be perfect!" He agreed with a bright grin.
He had a bit of a busy morning, himself, and Narcissus had already gone a bit farther in his senshi garb than he'd planned to. He'd really just wanted to try and get through the mirror and look around, then head home.
But at least he'd been able to meet Arnica during the extra time.
"Okay, I best be off too," he said with a nod. "I should just... mmm... make sure I can use this thing right," he grumbled as he scrutinized the mirror. The first time hadn't exactly gone perfectly. And he wasn't crazy about the idea of embarrassing himself in front of his new friend. But it kind of looked like Arnica was waiting for him to get a move on. "Alright, well, I can't do anything but try. Arnica, you stay safe too- er, not that you haven't been doing a good job of it so far. You've been going a lot longer than me, of course, but uh- Well, you now how things change. Just be careful out there- O-out here, I mean."
"Okay, goodbye then." Feeling only slightly more ridiculously flustered, Narcissus moved to stand in front of he mirror. He took a breath, glared at his reflection as if daring it to push him away, then stepped forward.
He was spat out in his own bedroom, and was quick to power down from there. With a relieved sigh, he flopped to lean back against the wall. What a crazy night.
Was this life now?
