The newest arrival seemed pretty observant - when he immediately asked whether the piece of paper he'd found seemed relevant, Ralir found himself looking over immediately. Of course to do so he had to head back out of the tree, nodding a good-bye to the jackhop who'd come in with the grumpy buck and to Krima. "The ruins, and...probably Homewood?" Ralir wasn't sure whether the hoofprint was relevant, or if it was something that'd been left by a noul on their way in.
He pondered it for but a moment, though. It looked like that grumpy buck was looking around this clearing already, so Ralir might as well head back to what he was doing. Those containers had to have something interesting, though all he'd really seen so far was a half-rotted berry. It took him a bit to get back to the containers he'd been poring through at first, though, and catching up to where he'd been took time. Perhaps it'd be best to focus on his own search, and think about the things others had found afterward - when they'd all completed a survey of this hollow and its grove.

Draven had exited the 'housing' of the Wanderlust group and was searching outside again. It seemed to be getting crowded in there, so many bodies all. Giving his coat a shake his tail flicking behind him. He gave another glance at the ascended doe as she was the one that had called them all there. And then there were those who knew of this group, his mind was more occupied with something else that he had ignored everything else.
"If there were a cave in the barrens then chalk might work, but from my time here and there. I hadn't come to find many places that were worth exploring." He answered whom ever it had mentioned caves, he hadn't paid attention to whom was talking.
Up in the higher reaches of the hollowed out redwood, Bluebell was sniffing about hunting for anything that would be useful, much like everyone else around here. Her sharp eyes looking over pieces of parchment that were laying about and had yet to completely rot away. The most seemed blank, or had things just scribbled all over them. To a point she had to question to boredom that was seen here.
"These folks never kept much in order did they? Everything is all higgledy piggledy" Bluebell voiced down from what could have been considered a shelf or perhaps a small desk for writing. "Bet they'd hate to have a den keeper come through and organize everything for them. Lose their minds I bet."

Viltalta took the map offered to her by ADAHY, perusing it with a furrowed brow. “This is Wanderlust’s hoof print, I’m certain.”
Of course they’d have scraps of a map scattered across their grove. Hopefully they could find pieces that were more useful than this.

While BLUEBELL is searching through the piles of notes, she uncovers something that might be useful.
TEXT:
My Dearest Wanderlust, I believe I have discovered a place untouched by the others. Journeying to it may be long and dangerous. I hope you enjoy the gifts I’ve brought for you from the area. Love eternally, Your Traveller
Ralir was flattered to hear that the grumpy buck was at least humoring his theory. He glanced up every so often to see what that jackhop was up to, but clearly wasn't tall enough to see what she was doing, and wasn't planning on looking over her shoulders.
He peered carefully through container after container, checking now to see whether anything hadn't been put back in place. It really was a mess here, he thought. He took the commentary into account as he searched: it was good to know that there probably weren't recent smells or hoofprints to disturb, and certainly helpful to know that Viltalta recognized Wanderlust's hoofprint on the map. That likely meant that there were more pieces, right? But whether they were among the piles of paper or tucked between containers was yet to be seen.
Ralir would continue searching for unfamiliar paraphernalia in these containers, himself. He wanted to know what might've been found out in the Barrens, or perhaps in the Ruins, to prompt such a journey. Nothing he tried was proving fruitful, though, and he huffed out a sigh. "Perhaps it wouldn't be wise to provoke an ascended noulicorn by organizing their things, though," Ralir sighed. Then, eyes wide, he glanced back at Viltalta. "Not that I'm trying to imply anything about ascended nouls! Only...Wanderlust probably has a lot more expertise than I do."
Adahy came over to read the note that had been found and wondered at the meaning. "It kind of sounds like a love note. If not then someone very close to the Wanderlust." As the wheel began turning in Adahy's head he also recalled a list form earlier had severally items need for travel as well. There was also a small corner of a map that had the Wanderlust hoof print. Couple this note with the map corner and one could almost git a parental direction the Wanderlust may have gone. But it really still wasn't much to go on, they needed more information more of idea on what to expect.
"Well this does not give us much but hopeful there is more here to find." Adahy said to the group. Turning and walking in a direction he had yet to explore, Adahy dove in to the search even more. ]"We need more clues." he thought as he searched. Furry Tail was off to the left digging small holes and reburying them when there was nothing found; this made Adahy smile. "The young hop is always to diligent and helpful." Adahy thought as he move to a new spot.
Ralir was pretty confused, but it looked like this newest buck was looking over the shoulders of that grumpy buck's jackhop friend. Ah - they must've identified something. He reared up a little to get a better angle on the note himself, nodding to Bluebell in greeting again as he did so. "That gives us a reasonable idea of what we're searching for, but you're right - we don't know which direction we should head toward."
It helped him narrow down something to search for in all these containers, too: he knew now that he wanted some sort of gift, perhaps.
"By the way - I was a bit too absorbed earlier, and didn't get a chance to introduce myself to everyone individually, necessarily. I'm Ralir." He wanted to ask after the other names, but wasn't going to turn to each member of their party individually. Besides, there was definitely more to search for now, whether map pieces or strange gifts from beyond.

While FURRY TAIL digs, he uncovers something from the dirt!

Viltalta's ears perked. She trotted near the jack hop and leaned down to inspect the creature he'd found.
"I've never seen something like this in Homewood. It's not a resurrection I've been made aware of."

Bluebell had nosed through a few more of the papers before she came across the note. Sitting up again she tilted her head at it. Snatching it up in her teeth, she dropped off what she was on and darted to where the Ascended was standing. Getting there she dropped the letter or note or whatever you wanted to call it.
"I found this in their mass of notes and things. Seems whom ever sent this had set other items along with it." She said poking at the parchment. She had to wonder just what had come with it. With the mess of the place it could have been most anything.
Draven stood off to one side looking around. He didn't really see where he could nose around anymore. The place was crawling with many younger does and bucks that he just thought to stand sentry, even though this was still the homewood. Nothing horrid really happened here, just you can never be too careful. His ears twitched as it seemed that Bluebell had found something along with the discovery of something else that had never been seen in this area.
He was curious of what it was, but there were too many heads and all he needed was their horns getting tangled up and inuring others. Nah, he opted to just wander the fringes of maybe leavings of certain things on their way out. In his mind, maybe a pack wasn't fastened tight enough and something was lost in the rush to leave...
It seemed every noul now was finding something of note. Ralir's ears swiveled this way and that, trying to commit everything they'd found to memory. Did he know the name Traveller...?
Ralir had to admit he had a better head for stories than for the names attached to them. He wasn't sure he recognized it, and he didn't want to make a fool of himself in front of Viltalta calling something out. She seemed to have more than a passing familiarity with Wanderlust and their ways - which made sense, given that they were both ascended. Was there some sort of ascended community? That sounded, well, fascinating - but as it was quite clear, Ralir's own father would probably never approach ascension.
That was all right. Ralir was determined, now. And perhaps, if they really did head into the Barrens after Wanderlust's group, he'd get a chance to look out for where his mother had gone, too. That would be the real prize.
With that resolution in mind, he began scouring those containers again. There had to be something here, he thought. That note had mentioned gifts! What had Ralir missed...?

Viltalta nodded at the little jack hop, BLUEBELL, then leaned in close to inspect the note. Ah, seems this was from one of Wanderlust’s paramours. Who was traveller? A nickname, or their real name? If they could find they out, maybe they could track the noulicorn down and question them.
“Good work,” she said to the jack.

Something crinkles under DRAVEN’S hooves. It seems he’d found another piece of the map!

One of the containers stands out to RALIR.
A fancy vial of water. It doesn’t look unusual, but it smells very old and unlike any water Ralir’s smelled before. Despite the age, there’s something pure about it’s scent. It’s definitely not from Homewood or an Atmos user.

Draven lifted a hoof as he heard something crinkle and looked down. It looked like another of those parchments that were everywhere. Groaning he almost just walked away from it before he took a closer look. There was something on it and it looked familiar to the first piece that was found. Another map fragment. Looking up his signaled Bluebell to hop over and she came in hurried bounds.
"You needed something? she asked not seeing the map piece at first.
"Kindly take this over to the others. I am going to stay out here and see if there is anything else to be found." he glanced over to see what everyone else was doing. They were scouring everywhere. "Anything else been found?"
"I happened to find a letter to the group. Apparently a new area had been found and was hinted at with some items that came with the letter. A type of grub had been found and I am not too sire what else." she reported before taking up the map piece and hopping back towards the Doe in charge.. Or it seemed so since she was the one who knew about this Wanderlust group.
Other items, huh? A grub? Shaking his head slightly, mane tossing about before settling back down. So, someone had tipped off these Nouls and they packed up and headed off. Frowning, deep in thought he stared almost into nothing. This was getting more and more interesting as things were being found little by little.
"What is the real purpose of all this..." He wondered to himself as he moved from the spot. "Was the letter something of merit, or was it someone luring them away for larger ideas...."
Ralir gave a startled exclamation as he finally chanced upon something strange. It was fortunate that he'd been sniffing everything - this vial of water looked out of place, but it also just looked like water. On closer glance, though...the scent was both ancient and pure, in the same way that the Homewood smelled alive to him. It didn't smell like the water of the Homewood's rivers, and he quickly brought it over to Viltalta, figuring he'd defer to the noul who'd clearly lived the longest.
He wasn't the only one who'd had that idea, apparently. The jackhop who'd found the letter was ferrying yet another map piece over. Ralir's eyes caught on the word oasis, and he mouthed it to himself. That seemed to be quite in line with the water he'd found - that was, if it was a gift from this Traveller.
He settled the little vial at Viltalta's feet, looking over the collection of items that was now gathered there. Someone had found a little grub, too, which Viltalta was examining, and it was - unusual, and tiny, and luminescent. But it was best not to get distracted - he had made a discovery, too. "This scent...it's not familiar to you, is it? It seems so old, so I thought - well, it might be one of Wanderlust's treasures, but it might be one of the gifts mentioned in that note, too," Ralir proposed, nudging the vial forth with his horn. He took some time, while Viltalta pondered, to bring the list of supplies over from the tree he'd attached it to, since everyone else seemed to want to gather their items near Viltalta.
He headed back to the hollowed out redwood quickly, though. He wasn't quite sure he'd gone through all the containers yet, and he remembered where he'd found that vial, so it was probably a good starting point for other hints. Unless, perhaps, there was any part of Wanderlust's abode that looked like it might house their valuables? Perhaps knowing who this Traveller was - if there was a portrait or something - might provide a lead, too.
Of course, the word of Wanderlust's being missing reached Dousan before long! The small army of message bearing familiars saw to that. It had been an easy decision to offer his assistance. He had grown up with stories and gossip about Wanderlust's adventures, their traversing far and wide all over Vykeli. They had always ignited his imaginings as a foal, though his folks made sure to pepper in plenty of sensible warnings too.
He had never made a point to visit the place where Wanderlust had set up their seldom used residence within Homewood, even as an adult. Word of their arrivals, departures, and findings made their way to him eventually. Other nouls already seemed to be searching for clues around Wanderlust's home, with the help and guidance of their summoner, Viltalta. Dousan dipped his head in a respectful greeting to the elder doe. He was here to help, so off he set to helping search! Some of the things littered around their hollow seemed odd enough to the buck. He truly hoped that any clues he may stumble across would stand out enough amidst the eclectic things collected here.
Some small part of him fretted that this was an invasion of privacy, but he shook himself of this thought. Wanderlust was in trouble of some sort and the best way to get an idea of what in the world happened to them would likely be found right here in their home.
Furry Tail was so pleased with his find of a strange bug. "Not even the beautiful noul that Adahy had bowed to knew what it was." He thought with triumph at his skills to hunt for treasure. What to please both Abahy and Viltalta again, Furry began to dig around more vigorously then before and completely forgetting to bury the holes he was making. This made Adahy smile to himself but he also knew he would have to correct the young hop. Clearing his throat, which was enough to make the hop stop and look at him, Adahy said "Ha Furry I am please with you findings and glad you wish to find more but you need to take the time to replace the earth you dig up so no one gets hurt falling in one of you holes." The shock look on Furry Tail's face told Adahy that the hop had not even thought about that. Turning around Furry Tail began burring the holes he had made and then started searching again. Stratified that Furry Tail was doing things the right way again, he began his searching again. So many clues had been found but they need more.
Aldwyn didn't consider himself meek, even if he knew he was far from sociable. And so at Vitalta's summons, he'd known immediately that he wanted to at least try to do his part. They were a community here in Homewood, and if one of them went missing (particularly an ascended), it was a concern for all of them. If nothing else, he at least wanted to hear it from the doe's mouth that it wasn't some sort of unknown predator lurking out in the barrens, waiting to pick them off if they strayed too far or grew too weak.
He'd needed to find someone who would look after Bryone in his absence. Fortunately, one of the mothers had volunteered to watch the fawns of any who were willing to give their time to the search, so Aldwyn had left his youngster in the capable hands of a doe who probably knew much more than he did in regards to fawns.
By the time he arrived in Wanderlust's clearing, though, many others had already gathered. Ah, he wasn't the only who'd thought it was his duty...
Lamely, he wondered if he would only get in the way of those who were already here and had a better grasp of the situation than Aldwyn could understand it... But as his gaze scraped over the gathered noulicorns, Aldwyn spotted a familiar hide, and that alone was enough to fill him with such a relief that he had to trot over.
"Dousan," Aldwyn called quietly as he joined the other buck in the search through Wanderlust's home. His attention wandered briefly over the myriad of things in Wanderlust's home. The noul certainly had an odd array of things... Not all of which looked like they came from Homewood. But his focus was quick to shift back to Dousan. He hoped he didn't sound too relieved to see a familiar face. "You've come to aid the search, as well?"
