"There's no point in making yourself miserable with regret then if you know we can't go back. As much as it hurts, it'll fade away with time. Especially once the overwhelming newness of it all settles down. You'll be facing the same situations as we did back in California. Annoying clients, annoying neighbors, and annoying little brothers." And he wasn't simply talking about himself and November. There were still three other brothers to somehow find and figure out what was going on with them. A task for another day, one where they weren't exhausted from everything and desperately needing a break.

His fingers gently tangled themselves into Jan's hair, until the other sat up, and he only sighed at the kiss. "You know I love you too. And that will never stop."

A life without Jan was one he likely couldn't bring himself to live. Their fates had been intertwined the moment he was old enough to recognize just what love was. Just the very thought of being forced apart made his stomach churn. But they weren't apart. No, they were here, together, sharing the same bed and being as close as they could be. For now, he was content with that.

"Yeah, well... I did my best. Maybe when you're feeling up to it, you can show me how it's done, and I can whip you up a cotton candy margarita to go with it. Or I could bake you something else entirely. Sugar cookies? Banana bread? Sweets for the sweet and all that. Anything you like."
