Jacob laughed softly, nodding and holding up his cup in a toast. “Cheers to that, Feb. Send me the swatch, and we’ll find your hidden gem at some point...if I have any food allergies, I haven’t found them yet...or they aren’t severe enough to actually make me notice them. So, no worries there.”
Taking a sip from his cup, the male relaxed and still wore a small smile. “I’ll get you my number. We need to do this again. Sooner rather than later. I...know that I’ve...I mean.”
Jacob drew in a deep breath. “Now that I’ve found some of you, It’s really clear that I’m not some cool guy that doesn’t need his family, and I don’t want...to be without you for that long again, so.” He opened a new contact in his phone and slid it over. “If you feel the same, drop your number in, if not...No hard feelings.”

"Seems like a lot of us have gone our separate ways lately," February admitted. She didn't enjoy how difficult it was to track down her family and she still wasn't aware of some of her siblings passing away. The fact that she had bumped in to two of them by chance was not what she considered ideal... after all, weren't family supposed to be easy to contact unless they decided they no longer wanted to be a unit.
What could possibly have gone so badly that they would decide on that? She preferred to assume she had just missed a trick on this one and that she just had to find a creative solution to it. She had never been the best at keeping in contact, she rarely took the initiative, and maybe this time it was something she did need to do.
His sister didn't take much persuading though and she had already reached out to take his phone and tap her number in. Suffice to say she knew it off by heart since it hadn't changed in years, and any excuse to meet up and gossip was something she was delighted to do. For good measure she soon texted herself from it so that his number was in her phone as well!
"To be fair, I wasn't exactly local," she grinned. "So your decision to forego visitation is completely forgiven," she teased. After all, she could have visited too, right?
"We'll need to do a proper catch up when your coat isn't ruined and it isn't freezing," she added. "You can help get me up to speed a little on some of the stuff I've missed," she paused, albeit briefly. "Well some of it anyway, at the very least give me some tips on where some of the others might be hiding... or if they've just left the city too."
"Wouldn't blame them, sometimes you gotta head out to make a dent and then come back when you're ready," she finished. Maybe that's what some of them had chosen to do, she was nearly sure the eldest of them had wanted to head out and be a big time fashion designer so maybe that's what had happened!

Jacob seemed pleased that he had his sister’s number and chuckled softly, nodding at her words. If she hadn’t been local, it couldn’t have been all his fault that they lost touch with one another. “The only other one I’ve run into is December, but..seriously. Text me if you run into anyone else, okay? You’re right about that...sometimes...well. All the time really. You just have to focus on yourself before you can focus on others.”
He glanced down at the time on his phone and sighed, wincing slightly. “I have to get home, Feb. But, call me or text me soon, okay? We can meet up again and plan for it...no giant birds needed.” He stood and hesitated, giving his sister a quick hug before waving. “Talk to you soon. I mean it.”
And he did, he thought.
He had been running away for long enough. This...was nice.
This was family again.
