Completely oblivious to the thin line of tension growing between the two, Laven simply smiled at them. It felt like her heart was swelling with an amount of pride and happiness when Tina said she was her best friend.
Her own appearance was off-putting, being a half-youma that is, so it felt nice knowing that the female captain was able to look past that and see her for what she was behind the scales and blue skin features.
Wolframite’s ear twitch caught her attention and the way he seemed to be passing her off without offering to join made her feel a bit conflicted. She understood needing time apart to breathe and do things they enjoyed doing alone, to think without being interrupted, or do things with other friends for a chance of pace and scenery.
But Tinaksite was being kind in offering to feed them both, not just her. She was welcoming him to join but it seemed he wasn’t all that interested. Perhaps something to talk about later when they were alone.
For now, Laven reached over to take ahold of Wolframite’s paw and give it a gentle squeeze. She then nuzzled her cheek against his fur-covered knuckles and smiled. “Trust me, even I don’t understand women sometimes and I am one. I should have you watch the YouTube video of Men’s Brains Versus Women’s’ Brains. I think you both would get a kick out of it since it is explained by a comedian, but after watching it a lot of things will make sense.”
The highway mind of a woman versus the compartmental boxes of men’s brains. Fascinating analogy but what was more amusing, and the biggest epiphany of all, was the nothing box.
“Tina is amazing at cooking,” at least the few things she’d made tasted delicious. “I remember you,” Laven poked his side with a pointed claw, “mentioned wanting to learn how to cook.” Granted it had been a few months since they were at the book store picking up a few recipes they wanted to try.
“Who better to teach?” She asked with an innocent shrug. “Her and I can get the ingredients! And…” Laven paused wondering if she should bring it up but ultimately decided why the hell not. “You do still have what four… five more outfits you’re allowed to pick for me to wear. Maybe we could find a cute maid one for me to wear, something with frills.” Laughing, she glanced over to Tinaksite and winked at her.
Oddly enough, something about being a little dragon maid in the kitchen sounded kinda fun.
