“Why wouldn’t I smirk?” Toby replied. “Maybe I like it, or maybe I’m plotting my revenge!” he laughed. It was the first one of course, but a little danger was always good. “You know, I don’t really go to too many places, most of the time.” It was mostly true... “I watch a lotta anime, and go to parks, but, er, not much else. What do you like doing?”

“Dude, you could never out-plot me. I’m the plottingest plotter out there. I plot so much that I might as well be a farmer, sowing the plots all before your eyes! But I shall be merciful today and let you be.” He got up off of Toby and stretched as his feet touched the ground. He wasn’t sure if the fact that he was wearing Toby’s clothes again was noticeable, but did it matter? “I like to make money and work so there’s always the Cafe, but we wanna go somewhere cooler. Maybe get some pizza... OH, we can go roller skating! My favorite one is like, a short drive away. Or bus ride, or we can walk. It’s a little chilly but nice outside! Of course, you gotta put some clothes on first.”

Toby did realize Izzy was wearing his clothes, although didn’t say anything about it. He just stood up, now that he was free, and said, “Oh, roller skating would be fun!” He said with a grin, pulling open a drawer and fishing out a shirt. “You’d have to teach me, though, cuz I’ve never learned.” “Then if we go again, we could just skate there, right?”

"Don't worry, I'm an excellent teacher! Though Typically I charge for my services... It's your birthday, so you get one lesson for free. I skated here myself, and you'd be amazed at how fast you can go when you don't gotta worry about controlling a whole bike!" Since Toby didn't say anything about the clothes, he shrugged it off and quickly changed back into his own. "Should you eat breakfast or something? It's almost noon now... Dang, we slept late... Could always get pizza there if you want."

Toby got dressed when Izzy did. “Oh, you teach people to skate, too?” He asked, smiling. “Gosh, you’re a natural teacher, aren’t ya? That’s pretty great!” He nodded emphatically. “But, food, hmm...Pizza there sounds pretty good! I’ll be fine for a while, and I don’t think my parents wanna give me a cake first thing in the ‘morning’ or anything.”

"Nope. You'd be the first one, but if I did, I'd totally charge you. Not even friends get a discount. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity you know. Now don't you feel special?" Izzy had been skating for so long, he couldn't even remember exactly taught him to skate. Someone just strapped some wheels to his feet and off he went about his merry way! No one really bothered to stop him either, going so far as to allowing him heelies as his work shoes. Dangerous, sure, but who's gonna yell at a highschooler over it? Certainly not the health inspector. "Cake is second to breakfast only to both cold and hot pizza, so it all works out. And I got a gift for you too, but like you said, nope, no sugar for breakfast. Go not be gross and brush your teeth. I'll be waiting downstairs."

"Oh really?" Toby replied, raising his eyebrows. "Well, I feel extra honored to be first, then!" He was half joking, of course, but at least a bit serious. "I'll meet you down there, then," he said with a wave, and went off into his bathroom to handle the standard morning necessities (albeit a bit out of order, since he'd gotten dressed. Distractions!) After a few minutes, though, he arrived downstairs ready to roll. "Okay, then," he said. "I'm all set!"

"You better. I'm making all sorts of exceptions for you on account of it being your birthday." It only came naturally that Izzy had to constantly remind Toby that massive exceptions were being made today. Izzy was totally a bad guy after all! Couldn't let people think he was nice. Then down the stairs he went, casually making smalltalk with the adults until Toby came downstairs with all the flair of Cinderella at the ball! ... Not really, but it felt like it. "Alright, A pleasure to chat with ya'll again. I'll be sure to get Toby into minor trouble, small enough to get kicked out of somewhere, but not big enough to call the cops. Promise!" Without much warning, he looped his arm around Toby's shoulders and led him straight outside. "No parents allowed today." Was the order he gave, waggling a finger at Toby as if he dared him to try to say otherwise. "We either walk, or take the bus. You can pick."

Toby's parents were clearly bemused, but didn't have much of interest to say, all told. "Bye!" Toby called out to them with a wave and a grin. "He promised, so it's all good!" He didn't actually expect any trouble...and they probably didn't either. Once they were outside, he said, "Course not. They're boring!" He laughed, and then asked, "Well, how far of a walk is it? I wouldn't mind walking with you, but if it'll take a couple hours, might be better to use the bus..."

Once they were out on the sidewalk, Izzy let Toby's shoulders go, only to reach down to hold his hand while they walked around. The sidewalks were getting icier by the day, and he wasn't sure Toby was stable on his feet. Best to keep him close in case he slipped. "It's not too far. I skate there in like... 20 minutes. Walking I'd say maybe 45. Think you can handle it? We can stop somewhere for a snack."

"Oh, I can handle that!" Toby replied with a grin, and squeezed the hand that had found its way into his. He had no idea why they were suddenly holding hands, but he sure wasn't gonna complain. "45 minutes of walking? That's easy," he said cheerfully. "I think I can probably run that long, though I haven't tried that in a while. And I wouldn't complain about a snack break."

“I suppose you are more fit than I thought. Got some tiny abs showing there too.” He reached over and poked Toby’s side, trying to remember what he looked like shirtless. All that came to mind was that his blush went all the way down his chest when he was flustered. “Alright, snack it is! What would you like as a snack? A bagel? A Donut? A sweet from a sweetie? Where’s that crush of yours anyway? Is he gonna wish you a happy birthday?”

Toby twitched away and laughed at the poke, although didn't let go of the hand. "Yeah, I'm pretty fit. I don't like, lift weights or anything, but I run and stuff a lot." He nodded. "How about bagels?" he suggested. "That sounds good. I like blueberry with a bit of cream cheese!" His face got a bit red again at the crush question, and he answered truthfully (as he nearly always did). "He already did."

“Wait, he did?! Like, when did he? I said it first, I know I did! I mean, I woke you up saying it, so I beat him!” Izzy wasn’t jealous or anything at the fact that some strange boy told his friend happy birthday. No, he was simply offended at the very notion that someone could have beaten his deeply thought out plan! And he didn’t even know his name! “So who is this guy anyway? Should I call him up and invite him out to celebrate? Ya’ll can go and get closer that way! Ooh, he could even walk you home tonight and hold your hand and maybe even give you a birthday smooch if that’s what you wanna ask him for a gift!”

Toby still couldn't tell if this reaction that Izzy always seemed to have was real or not...and though it had been a couple weeks since he'd decided he definitely had a crush, he still didn't really want to jump right on the issue. So he avoided it. "Texts only take a few seconds, ya know," Toby settled on for his reply. "Lots of people have sent me 'Happy Birthday' today already...but you were definitely the first." He considered the second part of the questioning, and went with, "Nah, you won the contest of getting to me first, so I'm hanging out with you." He grinned daringly, and turned slightly more red, "You can even give me that birthday smooch if you want!"
