"Claws huh?" Lauren laughed looking at him holding hers up, "They get in the way at times. Seems everytime I change I have to find a different way to draw. I get around still."
She agreed with him on the furry part, "It's tons better though my friend Awen seems to get by being a manta. She can't be out of the water too long without getting uncomfortable. I love to swim and all but I'm so glad I don't have to deal with that." She sighed thinking of the last time she saw Awen, how she thought Awen had to sleep in her wirlpool bed instead of a regular one.
She almost purred at being petted, but held it in. "Yeah.. I don't wash it everyday I think, about once every two or three days now. I used to wash it everday but it was a pain in the a**." She made a face at that, "And I have to wash it after going into the ocean. I use the same shampoo I always used... do you think I should get something different?" Even though she was turning into an animal Lauren would hate the thought of useing animal shampoo. It was just a little too far for her. "I used to have hair that long, I know how annoying that is."

"Oh, I know Awen too!" Avery smiled. "She's cool. I didn't know she was turning into a manta though, just some type of fish. I don't think I could deal with that either, I like the freedom of just walking around - I wouldn't want to have to rely on water so much."
Avery found he liked petting her fur, but he pulled his hand back. He liked petting animals, but the people here were still human and only part animal. Petting was probably considered rude. "I don't know. I mean, I know they make special shampoo for animals and stuff... I figured they did for a reason. I have no idea if there's actually a difference or anything. Maybe it helps make the fur stay cleaner longer, since you don't need to give animals baths that often?" he suggested. "I guess it could be worth looking into, yanno? That way you wouldn't need to wash it so often."

Lauren didn't find the petting rude at all, which was odd for her. She normally would jerk if someone she just met, a MAN especially, just touched her randomnly petting her fur. She actually kind of liked just being touched and this was rather new to her as well. She started being puzzled at her own reactions.
As Avery mentioned pet shampoo Lauren frowned, "That's kind of weird... I mean that stuff is for cats and dogs." It was a little odd to use that she was still part human... even if she had wanted to change. A bit of her hadn't fully grasped the severity of the change. "But not cleaning as often would be nice I geuss. I just like keeping clean, I was on filthy on the streets all too long."
It was starting to get a little late, and Lauren kind of wanted to go back to her duplex. "Well Avery, I would love to stay and talk longer but I got to go. I'll see you later alright? Maybe you, Rex, Awen and I could all chill sometime?" That would be fun like a party. The mongoose craved such interactions.

"I guess that's true. But they do make shampoo for horses too, I remember seeing it in pet stores. I mean I guess they wouldn't make specific shampoo for all animals of course, but..." he shrugged. "I don't know, just making wild guesses here."
At the mention of a party, Avery looked excited about the idea. "Yeah, that sounds great!" Avery said. "We should do that soon. I love parties," he smiled. Avery always liked spending time with people, and it would be fun to hang out together. "Let's definitely try to plan that. I'm in duplex 32 if you wanna stop by anytime. I think I'm gonna hang out here for a bit and watch a movie. It was great to meet you, Lauren."

Lauren grabbed the playboy on her way out, trying to be nonchallant about it. "I'll try to plan that. It shouldn't be too hard, there isn't a hell of a lot to do." She smiled, "32 alright, got that I'm in duplex ten." She gave a playful wink to Avery as she head out the door.
Lauren caught herself, and the wink... was she flirting a bit or was she just being friendly? Avery was a guy and she knew that, but he did look very feminine. Lauren sighed, it had been a long day and she was just confused, that's all it was. He was pretty enough to confuse anyone.
Being a seventeen year old teenage female turning mongoose was crazy on the horomones and the mind. Lauren walked carefully back to her duplex, hopeing she didn't get caught with the magazine by anyone that she didn't know.
