Oh, yeah, that button was really obvious now that he mentioned it.

"Okay, here I go!" she said, and she squinted at it for a second so hard that her nose scrunched up. Then, she pressed the button.

She slapped a hand over her eyes just in case there was an explosion or something, since she was pretty sure that was what happened in labs like this if you messed around too much, and also Chip had said to be careful. It wasn't like she was about to miss out on whatever his cool invention was, though, so after a second she peeked out through a crack in her fingers.

There was nothing particularly slow or careful about the way that Sylvite responded. Any burnt bits and pieces went ignored, too. The moment she felt the change in weight, her hands were gone from under the weird little flying saucer, and when the glowing screen popped up, she went and poked at that instead.

“Woah,” she said. Again, ‘cause it seemed like every five seconds something was coming up that was blowing her mind.

That was when she actually processed what he said about being careful, and she put both hands under the thing again super fast like they’d been there the whole time. She even uncovered her eyes since there didn’t seem to be any explosions. Then, after a couple seconds, she took her hands away the way he wanted her to.

"Okay, okay," mumbled Sylvite. She took a couple steps back since messing with the hologram thing had actually, like, messed with whatever the little ship was doing, which while cool was not actually the most helpful thing. Her heels clicked on the warehouse floor and she stuck her hands up and blinked all slow and innocent.

She even held her breath for a couple seconds and just watched until it seemed like nothing was about to go horribly wrong. She did see the little curl of smoke, and worse, she smelled it. It turned out burning metal smelled really, really bad, and she winced hard and wrinkled her nose up to hold back a full on gag.

Then, she blinked through that and nodded. "Yeah, no fire is probably good," she said. "Although, uh, I don't know ho long you're gonna have on that." She didn't lean in close this time, not even for the cute cat or his cool science. It still seemed like explosions could happen, and she wasn't so excited that she wanted her face burned off. She rocked back and forth on her heels, instead.

"That's really cool, though. I've never seen a flying cat before!"

"Yeah, fire's cool!" Sylvite said, nodding even though her smile was going a little crooked. "You could add a flamethrower or something once you figure out how to keep this thing from-"

Chip was saying something about progress, and then the machine was making noises that Sylvite was pretty sure machines were not supposed to make, and yeah, that thing was really smoking now.

"From, y'know, exploding," she said, and sent him a look that made it clear that she was judging him a little bit. It was probably ruined when she coughed a couple times getting closer to his little ship, hesitated and then had to lunge for it before it ended up hitting the ground.

"And if this does blow up, you gotta take over my quota while I get better," she said, looking him straight in the eyes now that he was more on her level.

Sylvite definitely flinched when the busted up ship fell into her arms, but she didn't drop it. Chip was lucky she had both superhero strength and her nice thick gloves, 'cause otherwise he probably would've gone tumbling. Instead, she shifted so she was almost hugging his machine and gripped it tighter and tighter.

"Okay," she mumbled. "Okayokayokay." Then she squeezed her eyes shut in case it decided to shoot out more smoke or turn back on or spontaneously combust, which still seemed like it was kinda a possibility.

"So I'm putting this down now," she said, and then she did, and considering how she'd been acting a minute before she was actually pretty slow and careful about it. Then she took a second to get settled again and wave the last of the smoke out of her face before her grin came back, big as ever.

"Of course! And like, this is one of the coolest things I've seen in my life, and I've seen a whole bunch of magic stuff now, so, like, thanks for letting me help! Although," she raised an eyebrow and wiggled her fingers, "You do owe me a couple stories now, or like, at some point."

Man, she was getting good at this whole deal making thing. To be fair, it was a lot easier with allies.

Sylvite immediately flopped down into a cross-leged seat in order to be more on Chip's level. Plus, since smoke rose and everything, there was a chance it would smell a little better down here? She took a quick breath. Hmm. It was clearing up a little bit, she though.

"I mean if you found something really cool on the internet, I'll listen," she said, "My thing here is more people, though. Like, my job's investigating the enemy, so if you ever met any Order senshi or knights or anything-" She grabbed her communicator pen from off her belt and twirled it around her fingers.

"But if you mostly know people inside the Negaverse, that makes sense, too." It would be pretty dumb to have a cat on the front lines, at least before his battle machine was finished. "Do you know anyone who's like, especially smart?"

Sylvite settled into a more comfortable position, crossing her legs in front of her and then nodding so deeply she rocked back and forth a little bit.

"Okay, okay," she said. "Sounds like you got the senshi covered, then. Obviously getting them to come here would be great. If you wanna say who it is we can try to help you with that."

Then she blinked and tilted her head. "Yeah, it'd be pretty hard to find someone smarter than you," she said, totally serious herself. His ship thing was epic. "I thought you might have some, like, scientist friends, though."

Sylvite took down the names with care, nodding very seriously. A, like, weirdly surprising amount of this war and people's identities and stuff came down to nicknames, and she was not about to start questioning it now.

She didn't really press further or anything. It wasn't like this was a bad guy she had to squeeze drops of info out of. They were just comparing notes. She trusted him to take care of his side of stuff.

"Nice. I'll keep an eye out for them, too." She gave one last little nod before her eyes got a bit of their sparkle back.

"Oh, and you let me know when you get this thing really working? I wanna see!"
