If the voices of her group calling after her hadn't gone ignored, it'd have been entirely possible that Mackenzie could backtrack to regroup. Instead, she remained where she was for all of 3 seconds. Her impatience getting the best of her, she glanced down at her phone as it buzzed in her hand. Reading over Topher's message, she looked back up to get a better idea of her surroundings and find a landmark or two. A second buzz and her attention was back on her phone, this time from Illy. She couldn't help but roll her eyes at the message, because quite frankly she was surprised that he would ditch Iliel to come after her. She fired off a message to Topher first- Quote: Don't be an idiot. Stick with the group, I'll find you. Regardless of how they felt (or didn't feel) about each other (depending on the day), they always seemed intertwined somehow- she was sure she'd end up running into him quickly enough because that was just... how it had always been since highschool. Deciding to follow her gut, she weaved through the crowds hoping to find something that looked at least vaguely familiar while sending a quick kissy-face emoji back to Iliel. Was that the store she had passed earlier? Dark pink eyes narrowed in frustration, before she finally caught sight of what she was sure was the tip of the fountain they had met at earlier. She sent another quick text message to the group- Quote: I think I see the fountain. Heading back. Determined to make this mission successful, Mackenzie quickened her pace to try and get back to the others as soon as possible and avoid the entire thing being a disaster. ---- Nuxaz 4 - You have an encounter with one of the senshi. Please quote Nuxaz for further instruction and disregard the rest of the mission prompts.

It was almost like they were being watched.
Everytime one of the foreigners did something that garnered attention, a pair of golden eyes seemed to follow them.
But finally, the opportunity came when the girl with the long dark pink hair had wandered off. Sure there was the boy following her around like a lost puppy but...he was of no concern.
They snuck up behind her easily, before she could get too close to the fountain, a gloved hand was snapping over her mouth, a rag held in place to keep her from screaming and into her ear they whispered, "I suggest you come quietly unless you want something to happen to one of the others."
Then proceeded to drag her off.
KENZIE HAS BEEN KIDNAPPED!

Topher realized his folly only a moment or two after he'd rushed into the crowd because now he was turned around as well and he didn't have the others with him to help look for Mac in the growing crowd. He huffed resigned sigh as he scanned the faces around him, a hand coming up to push his hair back from his face in a nervous gesture he insisted he never did. There were too many people. After another few moments or searching he started looking for anyone with bright pink hair rather than trying to pick her features out from the many, but her distinctive style was nowhere to be seen. "God damnit." He pulled his phone out as he grumbled under his breath, reading the last two messages from mac to the group and to himself. "Well, too late for that, Mac..." He shot her a response back first - And then to the group - Quote: Are you still by the fountain? I haven't found her yet, but I'm still looking.

The crowd bustled once more, moving through them like a bluster. Iliel stumbled and misstepped and was shoved to and fro, turned about, left to redetermine where she was once the rush of people dispersed further down the street. She hadn't an idea where they came from or why they fled, if they were fleeing at all. But, as she straightened her hat and checked her clothes, she realized she no longer had anyone with her. Not Sheldon, not Christopher, not Mackenzie.
Her phone buzzed, sounding with a gong. Hastily she pulled it from her purse and flipped to the message. Nails clacked over the screen.
Quote: I just lost Sheldon. Haven't seen Mack.
With a sigh, Iliel dropped her shoulders and looked all about her. Nothing in a 360 spoke of her friends. What a disaster.

Well s**t, that wasn't good. He hadn't counted on Illy and Sheldon getting separate as well. Under other circumstances that wouldn't have been such a big deal, but considering what they'd heard at the meeting the idea of all four of them being on their own in a crowd this large put Topher on edge. Cursing under his breath he turned in place again, trying to find not just Mac now but Shelly as well, but when he didn't see either of them he picked his way through the bustling bodies of the mid day commute to make it back to the fountain the group had met up at initially. Illy was thankfully still there. "This mission is bullshit," he snapped irritably as he walked up to her, voice low but growling. "I don't know what they expect us to find when we can't use our other senses." If they were powered they could just feel for order auras. With a frustrated huff he pulled his phone out again to shoot out another group text. Quote: Where the ******** are you guys?

Iliel wore her frustrations in how she pursed her lips. They were lacquered precisely for that reason — for the hint of awareness that eyes would always, inevitably, land on her. It was a struggle Sheldon and Christopher didn't share, but one that Mackenzie did. And now she couldn't find any of them. She couldn't find anything but more crowd or more rain-speckled sidewalk. So much for investigating together.
Stubbornness kept her going, however, Iliel checked a few more storefronts, a few more alleyways where Witzend crowded too close together and created passages that no one was interested in traversing. She looked at the places covered in muck and years of deferred maintenance, and she looked at the places wholly pristine (which, she imagined, Sheldon would actively avoid).
But there was no one. Not even Topher, who still responded in the group chat. Eventually Iliel gave up, both tired and exasperated. She still felt noticed and completely unnoticed by the strangeness of Upper Lip Society. There was but one thing left to do — leave them to find their own way.
As she walked, GPS in hand and vibrating with every turn she had to make, Iliel opened their group chat a last time. The cherry blossom WhatsApp background lit up strangely bright against the dull day.

With the group separated and scattered, it would take them returning to the hotel in order to realize that not all of them had made it back.
Sheldon and Mackenzie have gone missing! No attempts to contact them prove to be successful.
At first, it might seem like they're just slow to get back but as time ticks on, it becomes increasingly clear that they're not coming back. Yikes!
The mission is considered a failure due to two of their teammates going missing!
Please fill out the mission report! Topher and Iliel are free to under go additional missions. Sheldon & Kenzie will find themselves preoccupied....(Wait for me to set something up!)

A feeling of relief washed over her as the fountain came into view, more-so when she was sure that she caught sight of Iliel as well. She glanced down at her phone when it vibrated again in her hand, and huffed at Topher's message. As she began to reply to him a gloved hand clamped over her mouth, a rag gagging and silencing her. Her breathing rate increased, nostrils flaring as her eyes darted back and forth to look around herself panicked. The voice sent goosebumps down her spine. Mackenzie closed her eyes for a moment, trying to center herself and come up with a game plan, jaw clenched tightly in frustration. After a beat of silence, Mackenzie did the only thing she figured she could do to keep the others out of harm's way... She nodded solemnly and went willingly with the hostile stranger. At some point during the encounter, she had dropped her phone- leaving Topher on 'Read' with a never ending "..." on his phone as if she were still typing a reply.
