When she slumped, Midgard pulled her tighter into him, shifting so that she could sit between his legs with her back against his chest. His other arm lifted to circle her waist so that she felt secure and comforted against him.
"Don't be sorry," he said, gentle and firm at the same time. Chapped lips brushed her hair and he pressed a soft, ghosting of a kiss against blonde locks. "It's okay to struggle, but it's okay to ask for help too."
Chronos knew he was trying to be better about that. If it weren't for Amelia's encouragement, Midgard knew he would still be hiding away when he was able.
"Isolation is easy, but it's no way to live. For you," he insisted and then more quietly he said, "For me. For either of us."

He pulled her into his lap and against his chest, and her heart fluttered. HIs arms circled her and she felt safe, truly safe, for the first time since, well... she couldn't remember the last time she truly felt safe.
She leaned back into the hold, covering his arms with hers. "Thank you, Tristan. Thank you for finding me."
There was more she wanted to say, to deal with on the front end, but right now, right now she just wanted to be held and pretend that Tris was hers. Even if it would hurt later, for now, she needed it.

He let his chin rest on the top of her head, allowing her to settle against him as was most comfortable for her.
Physical contact was important and he would wager that Mary was touch starved from isolating herself for so long.
"You're my friend Mary, I wouldn't leave to you deal with this alone," he assured her, ignoring that he had for a year or longer because he hadn't been paying enough attention.
He would do better moving forward.
No one deserved to feel lonely and he'd stay as long as she needed him.
