He had little choice but to get pinned down given the attack was still in full effect. The knee to his stomach certainly didn't help, and rather than give a snarky reply he instead heaved at the pressure.
"Go lick a railroad spike you little--" another heave cut him off, and he looked a little more green than just a few seconds ago.

There was a problem here, and Nix knew it. He was bluffing, essentially... and there was one more issue: Magic made him stronger, but this man he'd pinned down was still physically bigger and stronger than him as a normal person, and he wasn't any heavier, so it'd be a rather simple matter to pick him up. "Nah, I'm good," he replied, shaking his head and grinning in what he hoped was a threatening way. Of course, he was a singularly unthreatening person, poison tongue aside. "You're pretty dedicated to the Negaverse, aren't ya? You must really like hurting people." Maybe a bit of guilt would work. He could hope.

Strong was nothing next to magic-induced nausea on the whole, though thankfully those effects were slowly but surely wearing off again. He curled his lip at the refusal and grin and started struggling against being pinned down. Of course, this senshi being stronger than him added some difficulty to the matter as well, but he was confident he'd be able to break from the hold. Eventually...
"Dedicated...sure. If you wanna call it that. I don't hurt people, though. They'll be fine with lots of rest, and they don't even see it coming so there's not even really any trauma involved."

"Yeah, cuz praying on the weak and homeless is soo moral, right?" He rolled his eyes. "And even then, what're you collecting it for, hmm? More monsters to roam the streets?" Maybe not the best moment to be preaching, perched as he was, running out the clock on that nausea pretty quick. "Release the energy, and I'll release you without licking you into submission. Tick, tock."

"Didn't say it was moral," he spat back, struggling against his hold some more. "I'm just doing my job, pulling my weight. Besides, we don't collect it for that."
He narrowed his eyes at the threat. "Would kinda defeat the purpose if you make me go unconscious, wouldn't it?" he said, then finally tried to knee him in the back...or the butt. Wherever his knee could actually hit.

"You sure about that?" Nix responded to the Lieutenant's denial. "Can't be anything good, that's for sure...I--" And then a knee came up. He knew there was something he'd forgot to account for. "Oof!" The hit actually managed to dislodge the much smaller boy, causing him to tumble overhead. He managed to not end up splayed out from it...but still, no longer holding on tight!

He fought down the urge to shout out triumphantly when he managed to knee the guy off of him. He quickly scrambled to his feet, the tongue-attack's effects clearly gone by now.
"Yeah, I'm pretty sure," he said as he dusted himself off, and then took a few steps back. And then a few more...watching the other carefully. "Not gonna stick around to answer any more questions you have, though. Maybe next time."
He didn't give the other much time to respond, and without any kind of shame he hopped up onto the rooftop just above them and booked it hopefully to safety.

Nix considered giving chase...but magic enhancement or no, that kick hurt, and he was still a bit leery of actually beating somebody down. Monsters were east. People doing obvious, serious harm...also doable. But this was pushing it, and he’d hesitated. So he let the lieutenant go, and sighed. Couldn’t call this one a win. Good practice, maybe, but then what was the point if it just ended up like this...? _ p a o cx I think we can call that a Fin~ thanks for playing! biggrin
