She wasn't a fan of Candy Corn. Didn't like it. Given that she had only tried it once and when she was a child. But back then She didn't really get what the whole hopela about them was. Why the other kids in her class liked them. Back then she would have described the taste as nasty, cardboard like taste. They had a weird nasty texture to them. She remember spitting them out and never ate another one again. When she went Trick or treating when she was little she would go though her bag at the end of the night and throw away all the candy corn that she had been giving. And here she was with a bag of them in her hands on her way home. She had went out to look for a costume to wear for this year. She was hoping that there would be a party that could go to. She usually just buy a costume every hear and take pictures. Or take the neighbors kids trick or treating. She would get the occasional look of "Aren't too old for that?" But she didn['t care what anyone said or thought of her. They could judge all they want. You only live once.

She had went to the local Halloween store and played around with the scary decorations that they had. Afterwards she would have went on the hunt for a costume. It was one decoaration that had caught her eye. It was made to look like a corn field. Fake corn all lined a corner of the store. They were high up to the celing. It actually took half the store. It was also made to appear to be a maze. People were going inside of it. Most of them were parents shouting out their kids name trying to find them among the field. She didn't know why but she decided to go though the corn field maze. She eventually found herself in the center of the maze. There was a creepy looking scarecrow in the center of it. He, for some reason was in the center of some kind of ring with candles also circling it. It looked liked some sacrificial circle or something.

"Man they are really going all out this year."

She stepped up to the scarecrow to get a better look at it and noticed that it was holding a basket. Inside the basket were candy corn. There was also a note indicating that they were free for anyone and to take as much as you need. She took a whole hand full and put them in a pocket Free was free. Besides she wanted to give them anther try and see if her taste buds were any different this time around. She made her way out of the maze and continued to look for a costume.

She really didn't have any luck finding a costume. She had a few ideas and found some to hopefully comeback to. It was pretty late when she had made her way home. She was so tired. She brushed her teeth and changed into her pjs. She got under the covers and went to sleep.

She woke up in the middle of the night to some kind of noise. She turned on her bedside lamp. The candy corn that she had gotten from the Halloween store were all laid out on the floor. They were formed in the same circle that the scare crow had around it.

"?"

There was something in the center of them. It was a Gremlin. It was shaped liked a candy corn. It bared it's teeth at her and jumped on the bed and bite her.

"Ouch."

She tried to grab it but it was already gone. There was a bite mark on her leg of where it had bitten her. She didn't get a chance tp investigate it further cause all she remember was it wasn't night anymore and she was in the kitchen with the sugar jar in her hands. The jar half empty.

Going to the movies seemed like an ideal idea at this time. Homework was done, chores was done. Anniliese didn’t have anything else to do. She had gotten movie tickets from a friend of the family. One of her father’s co worker had a few extra tickets and had given her dad a few to give to his daughter. from what she heard the movie theatre was celebrating their tenth year in business. She was happy about it, there were a few movies that she had her eyes on seeing and couldn’t wait to go and see one of them. Her dad’s co worker did give her a more than one and that meant she could see all the movies that she wanted to see. She wanted to see the new popular sci-fi movie. It had a lot of followers and was extremely popular. She was admittedly not a fan of space type movies and felt them rather boring. She did like how cute one or two of the animals like characters were. She had told herself to give the movie some time. And tried watching the first movie in the series and falling asleep halfway though. She knows that going to see it in the theaters may or may not be a good time but she didn’t want give up on it yet. And she did have more than one ticket so that meant she could see more that one movie that day. She had already looked up times and planed out which movie to see first and which she would be able to see after. The plan was to see three movies but the third movie started while the second one she wanted to also see was about to end.

She got to the theaters and gave her ticket. She made sure she had all her tickets. This theater was the one that was very keen on not letting people watch movies for free. They always had someone standing out of the rooms and checking tickets. The extra tickets was necessary. The concession stand had one person in line. Anniliese went though the long line setup that they had putted out for patrons to go though. It was a little too much in her opinion not a lot of people were out today. Anniliese took her time waiting thinking about what she wanted for snacks. Concession snacks had gotten so costly the price for popcorn was higher than the cost for a value meal at the local burger joint. But the movies wouldn’t be the same without popcorn. Her turn to order she ordered popcorn and skittles. She didn’t usually buy drinks cause she just didn’t want to have to use the bathroom. 1st of all you miss parts of the movie and 2nd and most important of all, public bathroom are icky. She feels safer at home using her own bathroom. Anniliese made her way inside the movie room and sat down. In Anniliese opinion the previews were sometimes better than the actual movie so much more appealing to her. She knew which movies she wanted to see in the future.
