[Sweetite is ENTERING]

She'd been hit by a ship.

While Queenie had never really liked dwelling on the possibility of her death, most of the grim thoughts had been of dying as some rich widow with a ridiculous looking furry robe having had a heart attack in the arms of a young lover or something of that scandalous nature. It had never involved being young and it certainly had never involved a ship, of all things.

But as her eyes opened, she blinked once, then twice as she tried to recognize her surroundings.

A chill ran down her spine as the corrupt senshi in flapper attire realized she was in a grave. Granted, it was still open and she hadn't been buried six feet under a mound of dirt, but still.

She was far too young and far, far too pretty to die like this and by something so utterly ridiculous.

It took a lot of effort for her to climb her way out of the grave, eyes immediately searching for an exit of sorts. At seeing the lit up gate, she dusted off the dirt from her skirt and quickly made her way through, disappearing back to where she'd started. Or sort of started.

At least to back where the stupid ship had been.

ACUBENS is ENTERING

Acubens eyes opened to the sound of her own screaming once again. It tore itself out of her throat, an angry beast spitting venom at the dark and passive sky. She was sick of this. So sick of this. Sick of the games and the jokes and the cruelty. She'd known about mirrorspace ******** for a while, but she'd forgotten exactly how annoying it tended to be.

At least, as her last "death" in this realm, it had been painless, right?

That sentiment did nothing to quell Acubens anger as she sat bolt upright in her own grave and leapt from it, aided as always by her magic. This time, however, instead of simply leaving, she delivered a swift kick to the headstone which bore her name. It didn't crack, let alone break, but it did a little to help Acubens' mood. She couldn't lash out at anything in particular, but she could at least do this.

The gate at the edge of the cemetery glowed and Acubens ran through it. She needed to get back to the Sky bottle. Needed to get back to Lacerta, Jason, and the mauvian. The other two should be back right?

Right?

[Versailles is Entering]

It was a moment before Versailles recognized that he could open his eyes and move around. Above him was a dark sky, and as he slowly lifted himself up, it looked as though the sun was just about to set, and it was if there was just... an end. Versailles wondered if this was what the afterlife was, or if this was what happened when one saw their impending doom.

He wiggled himself out of the hole, and that was when he saw the "gravestone" that had been placed next to it. At first, Versailles was unnerved by it. It had his name on it. But as he read more, he became less scared and more annoyed.

Corrupt Versailles
Died to the dumb
Tripped over hair
Got squished by a ship

Versailles glared at the marker and wished he could destroy it, but unfortunately his magic wasn't very destruction inclined, and even if he was a more powerful than as a simple civilian, he still didn't want to risk injuring his hand.

He managed to climb completely out of the hole, and looking around, spotted a gate that looked like it came from some horror game or something. But it seemed to be the only way out. He just hoped that it wasn't the way to a permanent death.

Nonetheless, he went through it, hoping that all of this was finally over.

[ Page Aogashima is ENTERING ]

Death wasn't really something Tochi had ever really stopped to think about. That was far far away in the future, if ever, provided she didn't just disappear to the great stage beyond the cosmos where all Center Novas went eventually, according to that one idol anime she watched. Certainly, if it ever happened, being crushed by a giant ship after accidentally growing triple her height wasn't it.

Needless to say, waking up in an open grave wasn't really what Tochi had expected to happen after what happened, but it did, and she was here. Rather than stop to think about it, or get all sad and mopey, she got to her feet and climbed out of the grave, stopping for a moment to brush the dirt off of her dress once she got out, before spotting the glowing gate, and making her way out.

It was probably a good idea to go back to where she had been, before this whole giant ship thing happened.

[ Jason is Entering ]

That had been a terribly unsettling sort of events. It feeling of being utterly torn to pieces by an exploding ball of doom was not something he would soon forget. At first he thought he was really dead, that he was waiting for whatever came in the after life. Was someone going to find him here? Help him move on to a 'better' place? He wasn't exactly the type to be any sort of believer. Not after everything that he had been witness to as Crocus. Would he just be stuck here in the darkness, waiting to be reborn again?

But, eventually his mind started to think straight again. He had seen Acubens disappear and reappear in the first bottle they were all sucked into. Death was thankfully not a permanent thing in this place. At least, not while they were being allowed to take on these trials. So, until the sun rose in their world, there weren't any serious consequences to their attempts to leave this messed up realm. It sucked that he was still sore though and that he could clearly remember that he had in fact died. It was a very unique form of torture that he never thought he'd get the chance to experience.

With an audible groan he made himself stand in his grave, sadly he was just a bit short of seeing over it. If he was Crocus now, he could easily just jump out. As Jason though, he had to reach up and pull. It wasn't too hard for him, but eventually he made it out and glanced over at the tombstone with his name on it. It reminded him eerily of the time he had seen another tombstone with his name on it. A couple October's ago that had really freaked him out. Maybe that had been an omen about this day all along.

That was no something he wanted to look at, so he turned around and started to walk away. That was when he noticed the glowing gate at the end. It was no secret that it had to be the exit. He only hoped that instead of returning to the trial bottle, it would dump him into the main bottle instead. He wasn't quite ready to return to his adventures in the air.

Lieutenant Aventurine is Entering

Hazel eyes fluttered open, Aventurine waking with a stuttering gasp and a sudden dirt-filled mouth. Blunt nails scraped against the side of the open grave, causing dirt to fall upon him and make him sputter further. His lungs heaved with the weight of his coughs, even as he tried to pull himself up and out of the horrid thing.

He remembered sitting on a flying crane, a dark dripping red that matched his coat and now-- he was in a graveyard.

He looked behind him, found the headstone with his name and the year printed upon it. Lieutenant Aventurine, it read, Not as great as he thought he was.

The insult caused him to ball his fists, teeth grating across each other when he rose. Grave remains were dusted from his being, shaken out from his hair and his overall appearance was straightened when he took note of the glowing gate. Booted feet led him towards it, jaw set in a tight, irritated manner.

So this was what the general had meant, he thought, before crossing through the gate.

SPECIAL RARE BOSS:

Graves where the dead are raising has seem to draw the attention of the Gravekeeper, a mysterious man who manages the cemetery with diligence and love. He walks the cemetery, bottles of dirt jingling around his waist and a shovel over his shoulder, watching as not one, but two but three rose from the graves. The well tended graves he had kept.

It was unacceptable.

Unacceptable.

He would not stand for the ruin of his precious graveyard.

Quote:
You have awoken the Graveyard Keeper!
HP: 250/250
Damage: -2 auto attack

For the next 48 hours (From 6pst 1/7/19 to 6pst 1/9/19), he will be attacking anyone who dares tries to leave the grave. He does an auto attack of -2 damage and has a health pool of 250 hp. You do not have to kill the graveyard keeper, but you must fend off his attack! If you attack him once, you may leave the graveyard.

There is a special bonus for killing him within 48 hours! In bold red letting, make sure to adjust the boss's HP when you attack him for other players!

If you run out of HP, you just keep respawning here!

Kainite - 18HP

Boss HP = 244

Chilly. Kainite grunted and felt for the familiar blanket on his couch, only to feel something soft and loose spill across him. He opened an eye, panic briefly surging through him before he remembered ah, yes, I’m not home. He wasn’t Wilbur, this wasn’t his couch, and he’d just been with Auro in the spacey… bottle filled place. Right. Mintaka, he’d just met her and she’d been all bones, and then - oh, good, he wasn’t laughing anymore at least. His sides still ached a little bit from it, but all things considered, this was definitely an improvement.

At least, that’s what he thought until he sat up and realized he’d been tossed in a hole in the ground. Like a - “Am I in a grave?” he asked out loud to no one in particular (a habit of his even at home, performing for an audience that would never see); actually, he didn’t know if anyone was there at all, but - had Auro thought he was dead or something? He -

“Wait, did I die?” No one would answer, of course, because no one was there, although Kainite kind of wanted to be wrong about that. He wanted there to be legions of people at his grave mourning him if he’d actually blinked out of the land of the living. Auro should definitely be there, at least. Why wasn’t he here? “He was already here, “ he reassured himself, laughing and shaking his head. “He had to have been. He left me here, right? - he was probably too devastated to stay, “ and Kainite pulled himself out of the ground entirely, wiggling on his belly for part of it, just thinking now how glad his general and everyone else would be when they realized he’d been just fine all along.

He glanced back at the gravestone, morbid curiosity compelling him before logic could dictate anything else. The funny thing was… there was nothing there. Not a word. And honestly, he would’ve just assumed there was some fluke, maybe nothing had been inscribed yet or whatever, but considering it felt like he’d died and come back in a blink of an eye, the stone itself looked pretty old, all covered with moss and all. Not even his name? - wasn’t that kind of weird?

Then he spotted another stone, just to the left, and this one did have something written there: ‘No one remembers.’ That was… kind of a harsh thing to write on someone’s tombstone, wasn’t it?

Kainite didn’t have much time to mull it over; all at once, something clocked him hard in the back of the head, and he fell hard to the ground with a strangled yelp that was more surprised than pained. For a split-second, the gravestone that had been blank a moment before caught his eye, only this time, it wasn’t blank anymore: No one remembers you, Wilbur.

Something icy cold slid up into the back of his throat, and he scrambled clumsily to his feet, skidding across dead leaves as he flung his flimsy drink of a weapon back over his shoulder at whoever had attacked him. He dared a glance, just a fleeting one, and to see the man with the shovel was enough to prompt him to run.

He saw more of them as he ran, those gravestones.

They didn’t come, Wilbur.

No one cares, Wilbur.

You’re obnoxious, Wilbur.

They wish you were dead, Wilbur.

Stay in the ground, Wilbur.

It shouldn’t have bothered him. Most comments didn’t, and he knew that was a good thing. People could say what they wanted, Kainite knew the truth - he was something special (You’re nothing, Wilbur), he was going to be something amazing one day (That’s a lie, Wilbur), he had real talent and raw grit (You don’t have anything, Wilbur), but it was just so many and why were there so many and why wasn’t anyone else here with him and he’d died and didn’t anyone care at all?!

His chest was beginning to burn from the exertion as he ran, but the messages didn’t stop. If anything, they got more blunt until they weren’t even sentences anymore: Bad actor, bad mailman, bad son, bad friend, bad officer, bad person, no talent, nothing special, there’s nothing special, give up, no friends, no one cares.

It really shouldn’t have bothered him. He’d heard a lot of it before. Most of it from family, because they’d never had any real shame in saying these things to his face. But he wasn’t hearing it from a loved one. He was seeing it etched out in stone, like it was something already said and done, and it did, it more than bothered him, it - “Stop it!!” he shouted, as if there was someone out there making a game out of it, because that’s what it was, right? Someone was messing with him, playing a game and trying to get a rise out of him. That’s all it was.

Except there was no one, and that was the point. No one but a gravekeeper, and it really did feel like he’d been forgotten. There was no one there he could see besides someone that just wanted to put him back in the ground, and the messages were drowning him - a future where he didn’t matter to anyone, where he never made a name for himself, where it turned out he was nothing in the end but a lump of dead stuff in the ground and that was the end - nothing had panned out so far, nothing ever would, no one wanted anything to do with him, even Magiore -

He wishes he never met you.

That was the one thing he really had, wasn’t it? The one real, tangible proof that anyone thought he was half as worthy as he wanted to be. What if Aurostibite really did regret ever waking him up? - what if he thought Kainite was a mistake?

His face felt hot with the thought, and faced with the brightness of a gate, Kainite turned to face it - whether it was the afterlife or something else entirely, he’d rather take the unknown over another slab of cold stone telling him how worthless he was.

I already know.

Mauvian Wendell - [ entering - attacking - 28 / 30 HP ]
INVENTORY: x2 health potions (+10 HP)

BOSS HP: 235 / 250

He had hands, which was a strange and mysterious thing. Wendell did not recall having grown himself a pair of human hands, and yet here he was, staring at them from his position in the grave that surrounded him. He supposed this was probably a bad thing; he had no definite urge to die, and for a moment, the idea that he was dead did not permeate into the rest of his thoughts.

Then he sat up abruptly, showering dirt everywhere in the process.

"Hellfire!"

Wendell rarely swore, but he found he had a mouth to do so with now, rather than a cat's muzzle. It felt strangely familiar, as though he had been waiting for this for quite a long time and had only just managed to get back to his normal self, one of those odd hands rising to touch his jaw, fingers sliding over his cheek that was, for someone like Wendell, muted in reaction to his awe at now having thumbs.

Then he remembered he was dead and this was a very pressing issue he needed to rectify as soon as possible.

Would Oberon remember him? Would Celsus? Would Corvus?

Would anyone?

Wendell scrambled out of the grave, ungainly in his newfound body, bare feet hitting the uneven, grassy knoll that surrounded his less than ideal sleeping arrangements. He nearly came face to face with a man with a shovel over his shoulder, Wendell rearing backwards instinctively, ears upright and alert.

"Ahoy there mate! I mean no harm - " said Wendell, and the man swung.

It was probably expected. Wendell was invading his graveyard, and quite rudely, but still; he would have preferred not to get smacked in the side with a shovel, because that hurt quite a bit more than he'd thought as a human, and he stumbled sideways, nearly toppling over a grave in the process.

"That was entirely necessary, my friend," Wendell said, because it was becoming apparent that this was not a man he could reason with. He took a step forward, wobbled a little, and then made an effort to swing at the man with a fist, arms lifted in front of him in what was clearly meant to be a fighting stance.

He swung again, because Wendell was nothing if not determined. And besides, the man had hit first, and Wendell now had thumbs he could learn not to tuck into the rest of his fingers when throwing a punch, because he remembered watching something on Fritz's television set that had said that was a surefire way to break fingers, and Wendell most definitely did not want to break fingers.

[Ella Barnett is ENTERING.]

Ella woke up face down in a patch of dirt, smelling like nature and aching in her limbs. Hadn't she just been here? It wasn't the catacombs that had done her in, but rather, a large and floating ship that had only floated long enough to get her underfoot. She groaned, turning onto her back, and then she looked up at the stars above her grave, pursing her lips. It wasn't so bad here. It was gentle in a way, not violent like ships or gravedirt. It would be so easy to just drift off into nothing, let it be this way forever.

Then again, Reid might never learn to miss her if she did. She'd just be one of an assortment of annoyances in his life, and she wanted to be the annoyance.

From the ground, Ella pulled out her phone, staring blankly at the 12 percent battery she had left before opening her texts, wondering if he'd sent her anything or knew she'd gone missing. There was no service, but Ella started to type anyway.

To: Mr. Fantastic

RIP
You can have my mouse and keyboard if you want

She waited just long enough to receive the 'message declined' notification, her words in angry red lettering, and then she shuffled over to one side, using her arms as a pillow. Forget going back out there--it sounded like someone was fighting, and she wanted to sleep.

[Ella Barnett is taking a nap.]
