Kathryn McAdams Roll 4: 0 rings First Roll - 1 Ring Second - 0 rings Third - 2 rings
Was it because now that Kathryn was concentrating fiercely on winning the largest prize that it was going to elude her. All of her careful strategizing on how a right throw felt had seemingly deserted her. Kathryn grimaced as the last wreath toppled onto its side joining its friends on failing to land where she wanted them too. Sighing softly and trying to avoid showing frustration Kathryn knew she was getting too worked up over a simple game.
Although it seemed as if the money was going towards a good cause, wasn't it?
Finally she made a decision on how to proceed. She could stand here forever in hopes of getting enough wreaths around snowman to take the largest prize home with her and spending a fortune in the process or she'd take whatever prize she could get with only one more round and cut herself off after that.

Kathryn McAdams Total: 5 rings First Roll - 1 Ring Second - 0 rings Third - 2 rings Fourth - 0 rings Fifth roll - 2 rings
Kathryn forked over her last dollar that she was putting forth into this game. Her frustration from the earlier turns still showed in just how tightly she was gripping some of the wreaths that she was going to be throwing in mere moments. In fact she had gripped one wreath so hard that it had fallen apart in her hands. The girl running the booth actually had the gall to comment about how that was a missed throw considering she had "damaged" the property of the booth. Kathryn felt her ire at the game rise in response and she contemplated ruining the other wreaths in such a fashion before reining in her frustration. It wouldn't be wise to aggravate the operator any further. With hardly a plan Kathryn threw three of the remaining wreaths towards the snowmen targets and was pleased to see that two more had landed where they needed to in order to count as a successful toss. Holding onto the last wreath Kathryn sighed before flinging the last wreath in the direction of the targets but secretly was pleased to see it smack the operator in the chest. Kathryn apologized of course for the errant throw before asking rather sweetly for the snowman plush that her five successful tosses earned her.
As she walked away from the booth Kathryn squeezed the plush tightly. Why had she gotten so worked up about a silly carnival game? Maybe the spirit of the holidays hadn't visited her enough yet. The fact was that she was furious and just barely holding the budding explosion back. What was it with the holidays? One was either a grinch or not and right now it seemed as if Kathryn was certainly feeling as if something was two sizes too small.

Bluebell had been reluctant to check out the the fair that had come to town. Excuse her for being a bit of a critic about these sorts of things. They tended to never end very well, but enough of her friends had pestered her into coming that she did find herself wandering around. They had all agreed to meet here, but she hadn't spotted anyone yet. That was when she spied the interesting looking ring toss game. That reindeer plush was absolutely adorable! It wasn't a stupidly expensive game either and it seemed like people were having a decent amount of luck.
She handed the attendant a crisp dollar bill and got ready to toss some rings. "Well here goes nothing." She wanted to say there was some sort of strategy, but there really wasn't. More often than not games like this were rigged, but all she had to do was ring enough to win that cute reindeer pillow.

Well, that wasn't all that great of a first try. Only one of her rings managed to find their target, though she had a few others that were fairly close. They looked like she'd have one for sure, but too bad, so sad. Alright, well, she could just try again! So she handed over another dollar, determined that this would be it. It's not like she would run out of money playing this silly game anyway.
"I'll take my time with these ones." And she did, taking into more care, trying different ways of tossing her rings in an attempt to land some more this time around.

"Yes! That's more like it." Though, it could still be a lot better. Almost all of her shots were super close and she managed to double her success from the first round. It still wasn't enough to win her that adorable prize that she wanted so bad, so she'd have to keep it up for now. Practice made perfect, so maybe this time she could land three rings? Admittedly she was more into the sport now than the prizes, it was a challenge to see just how many she could hook before she was out of tries.
"Alright, that cute reindeer is mine with this toss!" She proclaimed and threw her ring carefully.

Aw, c'mon. I was better last time." Maybe she was getting too excited, letting her nerves get to her. She had a few close tosses, but only managed to land one more ring. Well, at least she had enough catches to land her that adorable plush that she wanted, but that was't good enough. She had seen people come and go with far batter cores than just four. She was better than that! She slapped down another dollar and was given some new rings.
She took her time again, like she did on her second round. She also tossed them more gently, hoping that they wouldn't bounce around as much this time.

"Not bad I guess." She managed to land two while her other tosses completely missed their marks. What a shame, weren't you usually supposed to get better at things the more you practiced? Maybe that explained why she almost had her butt handed to her in her last training exercise. Was she pushing herself too hard? Maybe she ought to try having more fun with things for a bit. One could argue that she had been far to serious for the past year or so.
"Alright, one last try!" She handed over the final dollar she was going to waste on this game and aimed her shots. She didn't take it as serious this time, after all she had what she needed to walk away with any of the prizes.
In the end she had thrown 25 rings and only managed to toss them around 8 bottles. That wasn't a very high success rate, indeed games like this were rigged. As cute as the prizes were, they were probably ridiculously cheap. Still, she was happy to have one. "The reindeer plush please!" Even though she had hooked enough to win the snowman, she definitely thought the reindeer was too cute to give up.

At first, Ieni hadn't been too sure about coming to this carnival/impromptu festival/whatever. She wouldn't have been perfectly content to stay indoors with a book and a mug of hot chocolate. Instead, she'd allowed her parents to talk her into leaving the house and going out into the cold.
Still, she was here now and she couldn't truthfully admit to hating it. In fact, her attention had been caught by the Tinsel Toss booth. And though the prizes were a bit silly, it looked fun enough. Waiting patiently for her turn, she handed over her money and received five rings. Aiming carefully, she tossed each out, hissing under her breath as each one missed.
That really could have gone better.

One meander around the carnival later, Ieni found herself back at the ring toss game. Her pride was on the line and she wanted to redeem herself in her own eyes. And, she had to admit, she really wanted to win something no matter how small and silly. Of course, her parents would smile knowingly but otherwise remain quiet, but that didn't matter right now. She was determined to have fun. Ring tosses were fun.
Once more stepping up to hand over cash, Ieni took her time tossing each ring, wincing when a ring came super close. That just meant she'd have to do better. And when precisely one ring landed and stuck, she grinned and gave herself a mental pat on the back.

Wordlessly, Ieni simply handed more money over the the game's attendant. Sure, she could have walked away with a cute little prize if she just stopped, but wasn't the point of games like this to see how far you could go? How much you could win?
Besides, once she was done for the night, she could still walk away with something. Even if it wasn't exactly a big prize.
Accepting her rings, she aimed and tossed again, this time trying to be a little less methodical about it. There were a couple more near misses, but once again, she managed to land at least one ring out of the five.
"Yes!"

This time, when Ieni got her rings, she fired them off in quick succession with her eyes mostly closed. She heard the attendant chuckling softly and cracked open one eye. Then, the other opened and she stared blankly for a moment.
Two rings. She'd managed to land two rings. Smiling a little uncertainly at first, Ieni finally managed to work up enough courage to grin back at the attendant. Why, she wasn't doing so badly after all!

Taking her rings once more, Ieni saw her parents hovering nearby and took a quick peep at her watch. Oof! It was getting late. Okay, this would be her last go with the game. She'd already gotten enough 'wins' to be able to claim one of the bigger prizes.
"Can she overcome to win the big prize," she muttered to herself as she carefully tossed each of her five remaining rings. To her vast disappointment, she missed each time. Still, she'd at least done well enough to win something and she smiled as she silently pointed to a reindeer pillow plush. Once in her arms, she hugged it close and ducked through the crowd to where her parents stood smiling oh-so-knowingly at her.
With a sigh, she conceded defeat.
"Yes, you were right and I had fun. Please don't rub it in," she said softly, voice full of regret though her eyes twinkled. "Are we going home now? I'm kinda tired."

Giulia - 1/5 - 1 ring
The young girl who approached the counter was being followed. Beady, greedy eyes kept following her, no matter where she went, and one squirrel had multiplied into three, and a stray cat. Apart from the cat, the other woodland creatures were mostly unnoticed; this worked for them, and her, and her guardian, who peered quite judgmentally at the simple booth of plastic snowpeople and wreaths. “Jada, I want to play,” Giulia insisted to her sister, pointing to the prizes in turn.
A reindeer antler headband was adorable, and Aidan would LOVE the miniature top hat! Or maybe Giulia could just... jingle all the way, with that bracelet? But the Reindeer pillow! OR THE MASSIVE SNOWMAN! Ahhhhh! There were just so many cute things, and sure, Giulia could just BEG until they were bought something similar, but- “Jada, I want to win a snowman~ It doesn't have to be the snowman~ But please tryyyyyyyy.”
Yes. She had been watching way too much Frozen.
She cackled as the dollar bill was passed over to her, her older sister's shoulders slumping in defeat. “Five rings, please!”
