The sweater was unpacked, Pen running her hand across the soft fabric and appreciating the feel of it beneath her fingertips. "It's lovely, thank you," she said, refolding it neatly and setting it on the table, the packaging it came in carefully folded and placed into a spot where it would be easily remembered to be tossed into the recycling when they finished.
She reached for the second one contemplatively before it too was opened.
Penelope was meticulous in her unwrapping. Manicured fingers slid beneath the tape and peeled it back carefully with the paper barely being torn as she unwrapped. Beneath the paper was a rare, first edition copy of one of her favorite books.
Her brow furrowed and she gingerly ran her fingers over the cover like it was fragile and had to be carefully handled. "Where did you get this?"

Pen liked it! Yay! Omorose scooted closer to the woman, more boldly then she had before.
When the book was open, which she had no idea it was a book after all, she stared at it and then Penelope. Pen's face was almost unreadable, maybe even troubled. Perhaps the gift was a mistake?
She bit at her lip, and decided to do what she thought was best. "I got it at a bookstore! Cause you like books and it seemed pretty fancy and stuff." She lied, because she wanted Pen to be happy.
Lavender eyes rose to look up at her, "Do you not like it?" She moved even closer, being a bit more bolder then she presumed she was allowed too. "Should we watch a movie instead?" Maybe that would lift Pen's mood back up again!Nuxaz I'll wrap next post sorry

Penelope's brows furrowed but she didn't push any further, still surprised by the gift itself. She had always wanted this particular copy but...it was hard to find, expensive, and more so to know that Omorose had been able to find it...
She decided not to over think it.
"It's lovely," she assured her, allowing the girl to creep into her space. She even lifted her arm to slide it around Rosie's shoulders. Her other hand reached for the remote, turning on the TV and therefore Netflix.
"A movie is great," Pen said, scrolling through a few before she settled on one of the new Netflix Christmas movies. She glanced to make sure that it was alright by her companion, which she was certain it would be if only because Pen was picking, and then started the movie.
Settling comfortably against the couch and Omorose, Pen tried to focus on the movie instead of wondering where the book had been found.
