Corrupt Sailor Hatsya chooses to Scout the Wall for an alternative entrance.

For the better part of their journey, the Corrupt Senshi of Swordplay remained rather silent as she fell in line behind the others in her group.

It seemed her act of defiance earlier had garnered the attention of two possibly allies although she really couldn’t comprehend either of their reasons for encouraging her motives by offering support. They were Captains, half youma no less, stronger and more capable than her in every way; why ally themselves with someone such as she.

Not that it truly mattered as she watched both of them head towards the chain. A poor choice in her mind as the sound alone when that thing finally broke would likely be their undoing should anything still lurking be close enough to hear.

A Benitoite split away from the main group, Hatsya followed at a distance. While his orders were not verbally spoken this time, his warning before they filed into the tunnel still remained. Stay close. An order she was willing to follow along with for now as this actually had the chance to offer her the opportunity she had waited nearly two years for with little interference.

Sailor Zubenelgenubi chooses to Scout the Wall for an alternative entrance.

In a way it was actually a sort of pretty trip, though maybe 'Nubi just had a weird definition of pretty. She stuck close to her twin was the group wandered off toward the Market place. As they ventured through the crystallized passage, she gently reached out to touch them. Trying to avoid any, obviously, damaged looking pieces. It was all a fascinating sort of dreamscape. Though, not a dream and probably more like a nightmare to any sane person.

As they came upon the wall that separated them from their destination, there came a cross roads of sorts. 'Nubi didn't really feeling like exhausting herself right off the bat, so she started to walk around the wall, tugging 'Mali along with her. Besides, there were bigger Agents to take care of that thing.

"There's bound to be some other sort of opening around here." Walls tended to break apart on their own over time and this place certainly looked like it had aged quite a bit.

Sailor Zubeneschamali chooses to Scout the Wall for an alternative entrance.

The artist inside of 'Mali was extraordinarily fascinated by the architecture and the very swirling skies around them. Even while trying to keep a close eye on his dear sister, he made notes here and there in his mind of a way to perhaps paint the rift and find a way to capture it's essence on paper. It was such a shame he didn't think to bring his camera, but who knows if it would have even worked.

For once, 'Mali was impressed by his sister's thoughts on the matter, not that he could exactly read them. He knew her well enough to think that it involved something to do with wearing herself out and he wholeheartedly agreed. There were so many others there, so many far stronger than they were, so why would they need to push themselves.

"I'd think you'd be right. Just be careful, sis. The last thing we want is for you to somehow trip and tumble so far down into this darkness that I'd never find you again. Imagine the scolding I'd get for that." It was a tease, of course, but he did clearly find himself worried over her, and made sure to stick close, following her lead just in case.

[Prompt 2 - Answers]

Choice 1

After a few tugs at the length of old chain, your character has the bright idea to grab a loose piece of crystal nearby. The group pulls the chain taught and uses the sharp, jagged edge of crystal on one of the weakest links. It snaps easily in half and the chain falls away, allowing the group to push the gate open with a loud, eerie creak that echoes through the main courtyard. Regardless of all the noise, they successfully make it out onto the main road of the square!

Choice 2

At first it appears as if the old wall has somehow escaped any type of damage in whatever fallout claimed this town and sent it to the depths of the rift, but just as the group turned around a bend in the wall, they find a section that has been knocked down to knee height. Old stone bricks lay crumbled on both sides. One by one the members of the scouting group step over the edge and find themselves behind an old building.

Unfortunately, as they cross the yard in an attempt to rejoin the rest of the team now spilling onto the main road, a loud rumbling erupts from below them and the ground collapses. The scouting group is dumped into the basement of the old store and for a few minutes, they see nothing but a swirl of dust and debris.

[Prompt 3a - Characters By the Gate]

As the group members that opened the gate cross the threshold, something peculiar happens. The world around them shimmers like a great heat wave swallowed the world and suddenly, the marketplace is alive and buzzing with life. Every direction they look they can see Portunus citizens laughing and strolling through the streets. Shops have great displays of fruits and vegetables, clothing in all colors, and the smell of fresh baked bread fills the air.

In the back of your character’s mind, they remember they were here for a reason..

Oh right! The Mayday festival is tomorrow! They need to buy food and a new outfit for the occasion - which one will they go get first?

[Choice 1]:
Your character makes a beeline straight for the clothes! The food will be there, waiting, but the best pieces of clothing will sell out quickly and your character certainly doesn’t want to be the most unfashionable citizen of Portunus tomorrow. They’re going to beat out the crowds and make sure they stand out at the festival.

If your character chooses to go shopping for clothes first, please copy the text below and include it in your post.
(CHARACTER NAME) chooses to head to the Clothing Merchants and buy a new outfit.

[Choice 2]:
Your character really knows where their priorities are - why rush to buy a new outfit when food is the entire reason you enjoy a festival in the first place! Your character needs to make sure they have enough to share with their family and friends and the clothing shops are really crowded anyway.

If your character chooses to go shopping for food first, please copy the text below and include it in your post.
(CHARACTER NAME) chooses to head to the Food Merchants and buy their holiday meal.

[Prompt 3b - Characters in The Basement]

The basement crowd is separated from the main group somewhere below the streets of Portunus. The tunnels are narrow and dark, with several rooms branching off in different directions. Some of them are collapsed in upon themselves while other rooms are filled with what appear to be different types of crystallized plants. The entire place stinks terribly. Should they look for a way out, or keep searching in case the shard is hidden among the plants?

[Choice 1]:
It will do your character no good if they get lost in the tunnels forever - even if they find the shard down here, what good is it without knowing their way out? They decide to forget searching for a little while until they’re sure they can locate an exit.

If your character decides to look for a way out of the basement, please copy the text below and include it in your post.
(CHARACTER NAME) chooses to search the basement for A way out.

[Choice 2]:
The whole reason that your character is even participating in this mission is because they’re supposed to be finding a crystal shard. If they have to wander around in the basement to find a way out, they decide that they should just look for the crystal while they’re down here already!

If your character decides to explore the basement for a crystal shard, please copy the text below and include it in your post:
(CHARACTER NAME) chooses to check the basement for any sign of a shard.

Lt. Neptunite chooses to head to the Clothing Merchants and buy a new outfit.

The Market place was an delightful riot of colors and smells, and he was more than a little tempted to linger at the stalls, perhaps for some fresh bread or a piece of fruit... but all the stomachs in the market couldn't, he imagined, empty out those bursting displays quite as quickly as they'd strip bare the choices to really shine. And he of course, -needed- to shine.

There just wasn't an excuse to do otherwise, and what other time was there such a excellent reason to be extravagant and luxurious with his clothing? Damned if he was going to let someone else snatch up the pick of things and then look half as spectacular in it. He deserved this, and he'd have more time to plan out what he wanted to pick up for a meal afterward. Less rushing, more -planning-. It would end so much more elegantly.

Captain Wardite chooses to head to the Food Merchants and buy their holiday meal. [+5, +5]

Clothes... Clothes could wait. The marketplace was bustling and if he didn't get to the foot stalls he'd miss out on all the best morsels and treats. Food after all, was life - and as great as it would be to cavort around in the best clothing and jewels, a full tummy of delicious food was far better than being the center of attention at the festival.

Besides, if he timed it right, he'd manage to make it clothing stalls before they closed up shop and he might be able to haggle them down for some last minute discounts!

Lt. Chambersite chooses to head to the Food Merchants and buy their holiday meal.

Chambersite didn't really care about the status of the chain, whether it was rusty or dirty or in perfect shape. All that mattered was that they could break it. But he did turn in the direction of someone whom he thought mentioned him and thought he saw a familiar outfit... but that didn't last long as another lieutenant stepped up to the chain and said something about not rattling it too much. Chambersite agreed but it would be hard to do so when they had so many using it.

A captain then stepped up and seemed less interested in getting the chain removed and more... well, other things. Chambersite felt a corner of his mouth turn up a bit as he kept himself from rolling his eyes. He was here for Negaverse purposes. Not to go off and... copulate or whatever this captain wanted to do. Did everything she say have some sort of subtext?

One of the youma captains, the one who looked like a ram, which was incredibly interesting to Chambersite, went up to them and mentioned something about having claws. Perhaps they would get through the chain easily. Chambersite made a mental note to see if he could ask the Ram-Captain later about why he looked the way he did. He wouldn't dare do it right now though. He didn't want to insult the other.

Another non-human looking Captain, who Chambersite mentally called Captain Lightbulb came up and some others too that Chambersite made more mental notes of. Plenty of agents to get to know then!

Breaking the chain took less time than it did for them to actually all split into groups, which meant that they would get to explore the Marketplace more quickly than those who had chosen to do... whatever it was with the side of the wall.

As Chambersite followed the others in something... strange happened. He could have sworn it but that wasn't important. The mayday festival was tomorrow and Chambersite was supposed to get some food for his family! Or at least ingredients. He looked at the food spread and couldn't say he was impressed. He could make better dishes than what they had. And were those supposed to be cooked turkeys? Please. He sighed still looking at the food.

He almost wished he had chosen the clothing route now. At least they might have a good selection of clothing. The food may have smelled delicious but... well, perhaps he should try a bite to see if it was truly any good or not before going over to the clothing merchants.

Lt. Strengite chooses to check the basement for any sign of a shard.

She glanced over at her name being called and spotted her diminutive general directing her to come over. Since they were going the same way she was, or at least wasn't going to mess with the stupid gate she gladly glided over, her hips sashaying with each step. "Hello darling! I missed you," Strengite greeted Beni with a blown kiss before greeting Cuprite. "Cuppy, I'm a bit disappointed in you." She pouted for a moment before explaining, "you haven't called. We spent a fantastic night together but I haven't heard from you at all. Shame, shame." She grinned and winked at the taller male. It was all lies but still, it was fun teasing the big guy.

"Shall we gentlemen?" She nodded further down the wall while snagging Cuprite's arm like he was leading her into a fancy party or something. Of course her sharp eyes took in the corrupt that was lurking around Beni but Strengite ignored the other female. She was just another one of Beni's strays at best and a random person hanging around at worst. No one Strengite had to be concerned about at all.

The wall actually seemed rather sturdy, not what one would expect for a ancient stone wall. Especially when the town behind it looked like one of those old Japanese monsters rampaged through it. But their luck turned when they drifted around a corner and spotted a point where they could just step over the wall and enter the marketplace the easy way. Strengite's dress didn't particularly like the knee high part of wall she had to climb over but none the less she only flashed the small wall explorer's group with leg, no pantie shots for them today.

The old building they had found themselves behind didn't seem worth their time, or at least not Strengite's, so with a huff of annoyance she started to walk across the yard to make her way back towards the gate. Might as well since all the good stores to pocket stuff would be on the main thoroughfare in this dusty old place. Before she was even half way across the ground gave way beneath her and with a undignified yelp the lieutenant tumbled to the maze beneath the market.

It was dark and claustrophobic, Strengite was neither afraid of the dark or close spaces but she grimaced at her dirt covered outfit. Ugh, she rather disliked being dirty. It also smelled rotten. Like farts, skunk, and dead bodies were bottled up for a century and then smeared across the whole place. It was enough to make a person gag. The curvy woman gagged at the smell and yanked off her banana to cover her nose and mouth. It didn't really help. She would need bath for a month to get this smell off of her skin and out of her hair.

"Lets just get this over with. I want out of here," Strengite muttered around her makeshift mask before she started to search for... what were they looking for again?

Captain Carnotite chooses to head to the Clothing Merchants and buy a new outfit. {10 pts}

The chain fell through, the door opened, and for a moment Carnotite felt relieved despite the loud sound of the door opening, because they were progressing and--

"Drat! The festival!" Her palm hit the side of her forehead. How had she forgotten about it? Immediately she looked towards Alabaster and grinned, linking her arm with his. "We need to go shopping. Preferably before the rabble pick up the good stuff." She shivered slightly at the concept of that travesty--being shown up at such an important social event by riff-raff who had the better timing than she. Ghastly thought.

Her feet brought her quickly to the appropriate merchant's shop, critical eyes narrowed as she began to examine what fabrics and fashions were on display.

Kamacite chooses to head to the Clothing Merchants and buy a new outfit.

Kamacite turned to head towards the clothing merchants, pausing to look over his shoulder at Tiberius staring longingly towards the food stalls.

“Have you decided to forgo your diet?” Kamacite quietly reminded his feline companion, although he wasn’t going to stop him should the Guardian Cat decide to pig out on festival food. It would be best to collect what they needed of the clothing, anyway. They would be sold out if they didn’t hurry.

Mauvian Tiberius [10 pts]

Tiberius swept his ears back at the barb from Kamacite; he didn't need to be reminded that he was on a Mistress-sanctioned diet. The sumptuous scents coming from the food vendors were as forbidden to him as a vat of caramel to a diabetic. With a long-suffering sigh, the Mauvian followed sparkles 3.0, tail twitching.

"Don't be so pleased about it, twinkle tush. You might be next on her reform list, if you're not careful." Still, he wasn't too upset doing some clothing shopping - swag was swag, after all.

Lieutenant Chrysoprase chooses to search the basement for A way out.

Chrysie shrieked when she tumbled down and slid through just about every dirty nightmare she could conceive of. And when they hit bottom, when she gritted her teeth and opened her eyes to where are we now, she still felt the fall's buzzing in her teeth. Carefully she pulled herself up and started picking the rocks out of her knees and palms. She felt mostly shocked, maybe a little roughed up, and definitely Done With This. With a sigh, she wiped her hands on the back of her dress.

Turning, she looked for her friend. "Hey, Angel, are you okay? Bad call, huh? I didn't think the whole place would just collapse like that…" And by the look of everyone else around them, no one else did, either. So now what? They were stuck down there?

Chrysoprase wasn't about that life. Sure, some of the people more accustomed to super creepy, super-smelly-like-the-inside-of-a-dog's-butthole caverns from being in the Negaverse for so long, but Chrysoprase vastly preferred the topside areas where they could see their exits and not smell the stink of the ages. Holding her nose with a bruised hand, she started casting around the cavern for some way out. "Okay, I need to get out of here before the smell just… Ugh. I'm gonna vom."

True to her word, Chrysoprase leaned over, her sides heaved, and one of the crystallized plants was watered.
