Oh, my dearest star, it's you!
Wait, who is this guy?
Extra Information: The normally introverted dragon was in the middle of professing his love to the maiden about time with a little haiku he made up when suddenly... Some buffoon shot an arrow towards them and stormed onto the scene, declaring that he was there to "rescue the poor damsel in distress." What nonsense! Rescue her from what? From who? And who in blue blazes was this guy? What was going on?! As far as the dragon was concerned, the only danger present WAS THIS FOOL WITH TERRIBLE AIM WHO HAD BARGED INTO THE CASTLE. EGADS, PUT THAT WEAPON DOWN BEFORE YOU SHOOT SOMEONE'S EYE OUT, SIR.

Heroes: Dragon, maid.
Maid, in the tow'r stayed
Dragon guarding hou'r by hou'r
Hero's sword sharp, arrows true.
Hero, unbidd'n, flew
After rumor, just gossip,
Prize: his weight in gold.
Maid, knight, dragon, told,
Classic romance, but, he's just
A mercenary.
When fate, contrary,
Spins lives 'round like carousels,
Rends grip of two hearts.
Battle: this man's art.
Face the gates, sword held on high,
The challenger cries.
Dragon: love true flies
By maiden's window, her smile
Fades by stranger's voice.
Knight let fly his choice
When bow's deaf'ning twang hit home.
Where is knight's nobl' creed?
Love crushed by cruel deed?
Kerchief flutters down, a flag.
Dragon's life now bleeds.
Extra Information:
- A rhyming haiku story... I don't know why. It was fun though.
- I left how it ends up to the reader to decide.
- From the point of view of my dragon princess (from the "Spin me a tale" contest) telling the story to her flutter knight.

Extra Information: She's a spoiled lady given anything one would desire, but all she seeks is study, especially of the stars. She spotted him one night from the glint of his starry markings and has longed to meet him ever since.

Words fill my mouth like stale and bitter wine
The words remain though I cannot say them.
--More than anything for you to be mine.
Your eyes make even stars appear too dim
She walks in darkness, a guiding bright light
Her beauty makes the heavens blush with shame.
When she smiles and calls me her gallant knight.
My weary heart hopes she feels the same.
An arrow took my voice, my chance to say
Now all the words between us unsaid lay
Extra Information: Iambic Pentameter. I worked in that the arrow is what caused the loss of his voice.

If I could be Oprah, I would give all of you ponies. You're all beautiful poets and it was a joy to read through all of your entries! I pulled another staff member to help me judge this one and we both agree for the following winners! For the Dragon, colored by Strife, we picked Nyx Queen of Darkness!
