"Better," she answered honestly.

In truth she hadn't checked in super recently, but there'd been texts here and there. Khaleel was easily her best friend, someone she kept in contact regularly with and who she knew would reach out if need. She also knew that if she called him and needed him he would come.

It was so nice to actually have someone in her life reliable like that.

Now that her wound was bleeding again, Fiona went right to work on tending to it. Alcohol wipes were produced and she carefully cleaned the wound, checking Jack's expression to make sure she wasn't feeling anything particularly hurt or ailed her.

"There's a lot of us, but you should be careful who you share both sides of you with." She remembered how long it took her and Arsinoe to tell each other their civilian identities. "You don't have to be alone though, you've got me. You've probably got Khaleel too. And our friends."

Fiona knew that if she asked her boys to take Jack under their wing and patrol with her they would. "We're mostly a small but close knit group, but we could be there for you."

"Good." That was a hell of a relief. Khaleel had been at the back of her mind quite a lot since that fateful night. A niggling worry that crept up from time to time to eat at her. Knowing he was alright was a huge relief.

Drawing her legs up to rest her heels on the edge of her bed frame Jack held her arm out for Fiona, letting it the other girl move it as much or as little as she needed to to get it cleaned and bandaged properly. It was tender to the touch, and the alcohol wipe stung enough to have her sucking a breath through her teeth in an attempt not to jerk away, but it wasn't terrible.

Not as bad as it could have been, for sure.

Her free hand when to the hem of the over sized tee shirt, toying with it absently as she listened. "How do you know who's safe and who's not?"

Fiona was, or at least she presented herself as such, kind and incredibly trust worthy. Khaleel had let Jack see who he was under the magic. He hadn't exactly had a choice in that, as hurt as he was, but now he was trusting Jack with that secret. Before tonight she hadn't really understood just how large that trust had been.

"I'd like to...try to pay you back somehow, for this. For for answering my questions. And Khaleel as well. I owe him my life." If there was no other reason to take up the mantel of Sailor Phoebe, there was that.

Luckily the wound didn't look like anything to be too concerned about. There wasn't a need for any stitching once it was cleaned and she pulled out the Neosporin before sliding it gently across the two bite holes. Next followed a gauze pad and bandage wraps to keep it in place.

"It's hard to say," Fiona admitted, thinking about all the people she let know about all of her. The number was rather small but there were at least three people who'd left a gaping hole behind when they slipped out of her life. "Give it time or trust your instincts. You can ask too, if it's too hard to decide alone."

She checked to make sure that the bandage was secure before letting Jack's arm drop. "There's nothing to repay, we don't do these things because we're looking for payment. We do them because we care and we want to make sure that no one gets left behind or that people know they've got choices."

Jack nodded as Fiona released her arm, tracing the edge of the bandage gingerly with dark fingertips before folding both hands into her lap around the henshin pen. It was the smallest thing, barely weighed more than a few ounces, but the weight it placed on the girl's shoulders felt immeasurable.

"I don't know how to do this." How to be a senshi, or how to fight. This was all so far over her head, and she didn't want to drown.

"What would you do...I mean," she frowned as she tried to think how to word her question. "I mean how did you decide to do this, be this? Weren't you scared?"

"It's okay that you don't," Fiona reassured.

It was a long time ago now, but Fiona could remember how it felt to feel a little hopeless and unsure and overwhelmed. She had definitely been overwhelmed in the early days of being a senshi and even now, it happened.

She was simply better at hiding how effected she could get because there were people who relied on her to be level-headed and to help guide them when needed.

"A lot of things are scary," Fiona replied, considering her words carefully before she continued. "But I fancy myself as someone who's brave and part of being brave is knowing that you're scared but trying to do something about it anyway."

She reached for the younger woman's hand with both of hers. "It's...easier now, because I found myself a family that supports me and takes care of me, like I take care of them. We're all a little involved, in the war or whatever you want to call it. For me, it's about taking a stand for what I feel like is right, but it's okay if you don't want to do that or if you need someone to hold your hand while you figure things out."

Fiona had wished that someone had been there for her like she tried to be for the people she let into her life.

"I'll hold your hand if you want me to, for as long as you need."

The more Jack listened to Fiona talk the easier it became to breath. She hadn't even noticed how close she'd come to having an all out panic attack, and that was scary all on it's own, but mounting anxiety was beginning to fade and the young woman took a deep breath, held it for a count of five, then released it slowly before adjusting her hand In Fiona's grip to offer a gently squeeze.

"If I don't have to do this alone I think maybe I can do it," she offered, not entirely sure of herself. "Or at least I can try."

That was the best she could do though. The idea of fighting, of placing herself in danger still terrified her, but having people to depend on made it more bearable. She could learn from them, rely on them. The way Fiona talked about them made Jack think they were close enough to be family and that sounded very appealing.

Fiona took a moment to be quiet, to allow Jack time to mull over things or to calm herself down, whatever the young woman might've needed. It had taken her a while to learn the paces she needed to take with the people she cared about, but the ginger thought that she was better equipped for it all than she used to be.

It all came with experience, things that Jack would eventually learn.

"You're not alone," Fiona promised. "You can call me any time, alright?"

Another steadying breath and Jack nodded, giving Fiona's hand a firmer squeeze before she lifted her head to smile at the redhead. "Thank you, I appreciate that." Her gaze flicked to the bandage on her arm. "And for patching me up."

Lips pursed as she recalled how late it was. "...And coming all the way out here in the middle of the night." If that hadn't been a sign that Fiona was genuine in her compassion and support, Jack didn't know a better way to prove it.

"I'm sorry I kept you so long, you've got to be tired." It was alright now. She'd be alright. "You can stay if you want, if you don't want to drive." Jack fidgeted, drawing her hand from Fiona's so she could stand, ready to walk Fiona to the door again, or root around her dresser for some spare sleepwear.

"Anytime."

Fiona meant it too, because if any of her friends called for her, she would come. As far as she was concerned, Jack fit into the friend category.

At the offer, Fiona took the time to consider it and the way her new friend was acting. Ultimately deciding that it was in her best interest to stay she vocalized it.

"If you don't mind the company, I'd like to stay."

Jack provided her with something to sleep in and she settled in to spend the night at the young woman's place.
