"I don't know if many Negaverse officers would want to talk to me. I'm a traitor after all, and some would only see me as a knight, a face of Order and some grand protector of senshi." He said which was far from the truth. His heart still bleed for the Negaverse, and he ached for the people who his only memories could recollect. He could only remember being Wolframite after his purification, and while that left him with his purpose of revenge, it left him with only the pain that he wasn't an officer any more.
"But Cosmos. I'll have to see about finding a way to talk to her. She might know if she has answers about Metallia. She seems old enough from what she lets on." If she had answers and a history of how it was done, then she could tell him a way to execute a move for more power.
"Metallia will kill whoever doesn't follow it's orders. They wouldn't want to loose their army because then there wouldn't be anyone to work outside of it to gather energy and make it's wants a reality. But it was without us before and I'm sure it would do anything to remain alive and protected. If killing it might be an issue, containment so it has no power to connect to others might be a better options. If it sucks back it's energy at the expense of all it touches, then that means all the creatures of the Rift could also be called to help it. That is.....a lot to deal with."
The dogs were released, and Gev moved back to the cage Castor had left locked and unlocked it. Reaching in, he pulled out the dog and took it into it's arms, stroking it's head. It would die soon. He was sure as much as Castor, but a few moments of tenderness was at least a small consolation before it finally passed. If it managed to show some fight, then he'd take it to the nearest vet with cash attached to it. If it didn't, well, then he at least sent it off gently as he could manage.
He held the pit mix in his arms as he turned to him. "Seems we got all of them."

Castor didn't know how to relate to those that purified after so long Yvaine he could support, help, but for an agent as long standing, as so deeply rooted and entrenched as Wolframite had been? He could not relate. He once thought he could but... Look how that had ended. "As long as you do not seek it out once more, I think you would be fine in approaching those younger. Charonite's reign is long ended, and this new brood is weak. Not without fangs, but weaker then those who were among your forces." Times of change, Castor knew once they had formed teams- After all, it was hard to ignore the stares and rumors and looks of pain in the eyes of those who loved the woman he had stolen from them. "As for Metallia. it's why when we went into the rift I accepted the fact we were marching to our deaths." He said it plainly, as if it was something simple, something easy. If it came down to it- I would destroy my crystal." He looked a Gev. "One life, a handful of lives- they're meaningless if all that will happen is they would be consumed in time. No- Metallia must be destroyed. If that means I must die, I will die. We must confront that fact Wolframite." Not Gev, Wolframite. He was always the one eyed general. "We must be ready to die." He looked at the dog, and then to the others they had freed. "We should inform the authorities. Keep the warehouse closed so they can be taken in and treated. With luck- they're still viable for adoption."

"Might as well. They won't get any chances, but maybe a few will make it. We can call the no kill shelter to see if they can claim as many as they can before the police try to send them elsewhere." He said, stroking the dog that was dying in his arms. Dying, because he could feel it didn't have any fight left. It had tried no doubt at some point, but it had lost and was bleeding out from it.
"I am fully aware of death and what facing Metallia would mean. I was ready to die. I thought we would all be wiped out, but I wanted to see if it was possible. I know ever day I go out in uniform I could die. Even now, we could have been shot or attacked by trained dogs. I do not fear it. I should have died many times. I have been spared many times. I have been given chances I don't deserve where others I've know and didn't have died in front of my eyes. I knew that since I was a lieutenant. They didn't sugar coat it back then. Charonite. Nealite. They made sure it was firmly planted."
He set the dog down now, it's breathing having ceased and set it back into the open cage. A few dogs were already over by the knocked over food eating and starting fights over the kibble.
"Things have changed. The Negaverse has changed hands so often since I was there. A lot of people I idolized and looked up to for guidance and who gave me strength have gone. Deteriorated or punished or just - vanished. It isn't like how it was. Not when I first joined and the ideals were different. It was different when I left, but I would have stayed." He looked over at Castor. "If I knew I wouldn't be killed for what I want, I would have stayed. They gave me no other chances. They used me as an example for the others. They would never trust me unless I did everything they said to the exact letter. I took what I had and left."
But would he return.
"Metallia would kill me if I returned. A purified knight corrupted back would be a prime way to put my head onto a pike and show it to all the fresh officers who might have any grand ideas of acting against the orders of their General Kings and Queens. Against their Queen. Against Metallia."
"If any of them got in my way, I would not spare them. We must be ready to die, but that doesn't mean I won't bite the head off of anyone or anything that would try to kill me." He looked over at Castor.
"What are you plans now? Are you thinking of ways to get back at Metallia? Another passage back to it's Chamber?"

"They are weak." He spat. "The senshi and knights who think that purification is some gran answer. That we can solve this without death. That we must not sacrifice our own to achieve these goals. I can purify, but none of them understand. You can't hesitate, you cannot force it. Why must I die for fool's dreams? What good comes of purifying one who would reject their own salvation? I might save a senshi, if only to see her in the arms of Ares's brood. It is better to be a master of one's fate than at the mercy of another." Ironic, given what senshi were by their own natures. "Now the negaverse we see is crueler. They hide the dark until the end. Charonite was a monster but he didn't hide it. He didn't pretend to be anything but what he was." He looked at him, blue eyes suddenly cold, mournful. "And yet Linarite yet lives. And what was he crime but loving me and betraying all those who trusted her and sought her for guidance?" He sucked in a breath. "You might be an example- but you're too vicious, too valuable. You'd be a better tool alive than dead. As for how to get back?" He shrugged. "Cadeus is gone, so that method is lost to us. With luck, we might find a way upon the moon. However, I doubt such. Endymion's link was more to Elysion, and its unlikely Serenity would have left a gateway from her home directly to the base of those that sought her death. If Helios were among us still I would ask her aid to perhaps give us insight but, that is also lost to us. Our options are sorely lacking." A beat. "Call the shelter Wolframite and lets leave. We can't do anything more here."

Gev moved to go to one of the bodies and fished out their phone. He wasn't going to use his phone and he wasn't going to power down to get it either. Not with Castor here. Actually, considering they were calling a shelter, he could just use the money he collected now.
"It's a shame no one listens to you. The moment someone talks about getting serious and fighting, they all flare up with their own opinions. No one would talk that way to a superior. Someone who earned their rank. They would have been quiet and respected the authority of a senior. Not some fresh nobody who's uniform has never been scuffed speaking up like they know they world. Who never killed before and think you can win a world by standing upon a soap box and hoping." He shook his head. "It was numbers on the side of Order that was always impressive, but no one does anything with it. You should amass an army Castor. Call upon those knights of yours to actually do what you want. What point is your power if no one listens or follows with your goals. You need an army to take down a powerful opponent." He smiled at the one he had formed before. "It's why I'm here after all."
He wouldn't admit that he felt a warm fondness when hearing his old name. What he felt was his true name. He didn't feel anything if anyone called him by Ladon. He had no memory of that boy. He had only adopted the name Toren too, and they had limited feelings. Gevaudan was just a continuation, but it wasn't as deeply rooted upon the years and upon all those he cherished and loved as Wolframite was. All his memory and feeling flooded into that name, and to hear it spoke to him did not make him bitter but proud and warm inside.
Taking the phone, he dialed a number and called the overnight emergency line. He gave them a short explanation of what happened, a general count of the dogs and their condition, and an address.
He hung up before they pried further and tossed the phone onto the dead man.
"Nothing else to do here. Let's go."

He shrugged. Castor had long gotten used to people dismissing him. Perhaps, it was a product of his own reluctance in the past to become a leader. Once, they had wanted him too, but now, there was too much independance. Too few who understood the need to have orders and a system of roles and duties. Senshi were fools without a leader. Even so, he doubted if they'd want him. "You mean like before we went into the rift and those damn idiots kept telling us no one had to die? As if we had the luxury of that option? I'm a damn royal, a ******** prince, and even I know I can't just purify all willy-nilly. As for an army." He sighed. "There is a reason I think that I avoid it. I know what i used to be like. War Bringer- I wanted to have war- battles, conflict- I thrived off of the challenges. Part of me fears that I might become that man again. The other part... Let us just say I have felt the pull of chaos more than many would expect. Power is after all, what I need, and in many ways, Chaos could give me exactly the power I crave." He looked at the former agent and shrugged. "At the very least, I know you'd kill me before allowing me to do such. It's a small comfort." He gave a small wave and made his way to the door. "Until next time Wolframite."

He smiled at that. "Well, if you ever decide to go that way, give me your Crystal first. I have no issues with bringing about war and I'm not interested in the song of Chaos with Metallia sharpening it's knives for me. I could do a lot of work with the power of a Royal."
And with that, he stepped out and gestured a goodbye to Castor as he took the other way back towards home.
