"No....transcended knights and senshi...they have glowing marks on them. They can't be....It can't be forced on them. Their planet protects them....but they have to visit often - more often than normal...or they can get ill." He had learned a lot since Erebus had transcended. He'd learned that the other had a need, or a pull, to go and fighting it wasn't a good idea, not that his partner did that. But he'd heard from others as well about it.
"A give and take...protection in exchange for visiting often." Shrugging his shoulders. It was worth the trade off he figured, especially since most knights and senshi went often anyway. The idea of not being able to be corrupted was good - very good...it was safe.
"I know...but even eating or drinking something. Some people had their skin turn orange. Little bunnies biting people and infecting them with a cold they couldn't get rid of for days - Erebus got hit with that while a civilian. Bats invading and attacking people at a fair, my cousin says they were bigger than any normal bat here could ever be. There is nothing that ties it all together...nothing to trace any of it back to. I know at the last knight meeting a page brought up trying to research it, to find a link if possible or a source behind it, when it starts up again." He wouldn't mind helping, especially now with children. He had every intention of keeping them indoors as much as possible once fall hit, he just hoped his husband and elder cousin understood and agreed.
"Spiders the size of cars...it's all different things. Even normally harmless things, coffee, wasn't safe last fall."

Gev slowly turned his head to one side, confused. "They get protected by their planet..." He repeated, as if trying to understand how it worked. "...but need to visit it or else the planet..............makes them sick?"
He looked up and around trying to think it through then back at Venice. "Or do they get sick because they aren't on their planet?"
Frowning, he looked down as he thought that detail over. "That's a s**t trade. Becoming higher ranking should mean you command your own power and become stronger. Not chained to a planet as you serve it. Is there some energy there controlling them? Like The Code or Metallia?" What gave them the power?
As Venice listed off all the terrible things that had happened, Gev was still focused on what the other man had said but slowly refocused on the conversation.
"....I don't like coffee." He said, as if this somehow made him immune to all the issues that might crop up that had bothered people in the past.
"Monsters seem no different than just youma. That's not strange." He added, not bothered by the idea of massive spiders or killer rabbits.

"Yeah...I don't know everything about it. You could ask Erebus, maybe come out with us one night. You can find out about transcended better from Erebus than myself." Since he bore no such markings himself. He also didn't know exactly what his husband felt, he simply knew what the other told him. But he was sure words didn't explain it all fully, it seemed rather complex, and he couldn't remember everything exactly as his partner had told him so long ago.
"I think it's because they aren't on their planet...as if the bond needs to be reaffirmed by visiting...I'm not exactly sure on it all. But it's not because of being transcended. It's because of not visiting often that they'll get sick. I don't know...I know he got a boost in power also...a small one but it's there."
Laughing at how the other responded, so calmly, he smiled down at the dark haired male. "Alright...this year perhaps I'll go out to patrol with you and let you face down some fearsome bunnies...if they return. Or something else - attacking plants perhaps." Like that winter as well. It would be, in his opinion, amusing to see the calm knight at his side face such things down. He was so calm and unruffled and Venice wondered if anything really would ruffle this knights feathers. In a way it was cute how he was like this.
"I think....even if you were a squire...you'd be stronger in a way...stronger than any knight. You keep your cool and don't seem to be bothered. Where as others have been." And he could admire that really.
"Maybe this year someone will find out the cause for the incidents though....and we can try and stop it." It would be nice if the city were just a bit safer, rather than more dangerous.
"We should patrol together anyway."

He considered this a moment then shrugged. "I wasn't always this way. If I was a knight when I had been a lieutenant, I would have made more mistakes. I would have been just as bad if not worse then I had been since no one here seems to have any captains or generals taking squires out to train them on what they must learn in order to survive."
He thought about who he used to be and breathed out. "I was very messy back then. I threw up the first time I ever stole a starseed and fell a few times form missing my landings." Despite what he admitted, he couldn't help but smile at the mistakes he made in his youth.
But that smile faded as he thought of Nealite.
"I still make mistakes. I just have seen enough and a lot that some things just seem normal to me. I guess you could say I'm a bit jaded." He admitted.
That wasn't to say that many things bothered him, but it was harder to find when he was in uniform.
"I'd like to patrol if you are okay with that."

"I agree. When I became a knight I learned almost everything from Erebus...and a little from you." From the few times he'd dealt with the other, which hadn't been a lot. "I worry about the others...." About not just the other Ganymede knights but also new knights who were just awakening. It was a lot to be plunged into because it was like going from the counter right into a burning hot wok. Make one wrong mistake and you might die two or three days into being a knight....or anything else. It was hard and dangerous.
"I would do that also...I admit I had bad dreams about that battle down with that General Queen...." About her killing her own and exploding like she did...and watching her die and so many others. The idea of trying to help kill her. "I don't think I missed landings but I took it all slow and had help." Which was good for him, really good. Had he fallen he'd have wound up hurt as hell.
Smiling at the other he was hesitant in resting a hand on the others shoulder. "There is no way to be perfect. That I've accepted long ago. But it sounds like you are jaded a bit...that's good...and bad - sad..." To become that way meant you'd seen a lot - too much. It showed how much this war was doing to people and would continue to do to people....
"I'd like that...it's been a long time since I've gone out with anyone other than my own family." It would be nice patrolling with a knight like the Ganymede knight at his side. It was comforting in a way and reminded him of what he'd wanted months back, or perhaps longer, a group to belong to. "Lead the way?" He offered the other.

Cracking his knuckles, he rolled his shoulders and walked past Venice. "Alright then. Let's see if we can't take out someone tonight." He said, optimistic and hopeful they might lessen the numbers together.
Moving ahead, he headed them out into the dark.
