It was a secret weapon that was not really a secret weapon; more of a tool to be used as a last resort, the means to an end. Wolfeite preferred physical violence, though he wasn't above incurring mental distress as well if it came down to it. And right now, seeing Stillwaterite staring at him with wide, dark ringed eyes, he felt a surge of satisfaction.

The mask hung loose beside his face, still attached on one side so that it looked a little morbid, gaping teeth grinning wickedly across the material. Wolfeite's actual mouth was pressed into a feral smile, sharp incisors visible as he came towards her, a pace slightly hindered by his bruised chest and ribs.

A hand shot out, clutched at her throat, digging claws in.

"You're awfully smug for what was once a white moon b***h," Wolfeite snarled. "What makes you think you can change so easily?"

This was the most terrible sense of deja vu. Like she had lived this before, and, quite possibly, from the way he was talking to her, she had. From the way those fragments shot forth, it looked like a very real possibility. But somehow, this time around, it just seemed much worse.

She didn't get a chance to unleash her next spell. The paralyzing fear was starting to fade, but it was traded in when he grabbed her throat. The corrupt rasped in a breath, and her own fingers clawed at the hand that held her and dug into her skin. She knew what she should have done. She should have teleported away. A very long time ago. She should be teleporting now, but she just couldn't. What would it say if she ran from him (again)? She didn't exactly know what she was proving here, by standing her ground, by sticking it out, but she was.

After a few moments she stopped clawing at his hand, and held onto it, where she started to drain his energy, as quickly as she could.

"Because I have." She rasped at him in return.

He could feel the effects of his howl beginning to wear off, but the sensation of Stillwaterite's tender skin start to give way beneath his clawed fingers was intoxicating and thrilling. Wolfeite's eyes were dangerously bright, glowing gold in the dark as the senshi jerked, her own fingers snatching at his wrist to pull him away.

And then - quite suddenly -

He'd underestimated her. The sudden sweep of tiredness over him made Wolfeite's eyes flutter, made him sway a little, sharp teeth gritted together as a hiss escaped through them. He blinked rapidly, trying to dispel the energy being leeched out of him, but his grip on Stillwaterite's neck loosened.

Strangely, he felt a small prickling of - what was that?

Satisfaction, perhaps. Or maybe pride.

With a snarl, Wolfeite made to shove her off, trying to throw her to the ground, though her grip on his arm made it more difficult to detach himself than he would have liked.

"Prove it."

She didn't try to stay close. His...magic? was wearing off, finally, so when he shoved her back, she let go of him. The corrupt stumbled back, but she didn't fall, and was grateful to have the distance back between them. Air filled her lungs as she took in a deep breath. Stillwaterite glanced at the orb that started to form in her other hand, and quickly tucked it away as she raised her free hand towards him.

"I don't have to prove anything to you. Your ship's sunk."

Once again, her magic took the form of another ship, and shot for the General.

Super Sailor Scout Attack: Your Ship’s Sunk
Stillwaterite focuses on one target (can be Order or Chaos), and holds a hand out to them. Her magic takes the form of a ship that’s her height and moves in a linear path that spans 15 feet. Target feels trapped in a sinking ship and feels like they’re drowning. It feels like they can’t breathe and does choke them (how much up to player, and if they want to push it further for RP flavor). Stillwaterite must be able to see her target to cast this, and the spell gets interrupted if she’s attacked or distracted. Lasts for 35 seconds and can be used once.

He felt the thrill of a fight burning in his veins as it always did; the anticipatory rush of euphoria and excitement that always stemmed from the possibility of bloodshed, of sinking his claws into something and tearing it apart at the seams. Wolfeite's heart was pounding, ears flat back against his head, and the cascade of his hair down his back and shoulders was a wild, tangled thing, only adding to the already disreputable, feral appearance his mask and wolfish attributes gave him.

Stillwaterite's magic caught him violently. Wolfeite sucked in a sharp breath that felt too thin and too choked to give him proper air, invisible bands around his chest to make him feel as though his lungs weren't expanding. He let out a snarl of rage and frustration, choking, his throat constricting, and staggered forward a few steps towards the senshi, eyes flashing.

"You - " Each word was punctured, rasping with a lack of oxygen. " - are - nothing - "

Except along with the coldness in his tone there was something strangely like approval.

What happens when your magic runs out, Still?

It was a good question she asked herself. The timer on her current spell was about to end, and the General was still coming at her. She had three more, but what would be the outcome of using them? Would this monster stop? How was she supposed to end this? What was she supposed to do when the magic ran out?

Teleport. Yes. That was always an option, but would it end this?

It felt like running away. A clear sign that she had used up every trick up her sleeve, deemed herself incapable of more. It was cowardly, it was---weak. She just couldn't---it wasn't okay, but she didn't know what would happen next.

Trial by fire.

Indeed.

"Your opinion is irrelevant." She snapped, though the echoes of something else in his tone had her brows briefly knitting. "Are you done? I have more magic to cast if you feel like choking some more."

The magic was a suffocating, painful, extraordinarily aggravating thing - but the best part about the damned magical ones was that the magic eventually ran out. They were not capable of pushing themselves to the limit of making it extend past a self-imposed limit, and this was to Wolfeite's advantage, which he knew.

Somewhere behind him, Maledictus snarled, but stayed put, unmoving until she was called for. Wolfeite's ears were still back flat against his hair, tangled and wild and he felt the thrill in his veins, the heady rush of adrenaline and the pulse of pleasure and the unexpected delight in having this sort of thing burst into life around him.

Life, death, whatever it was. He was always ready to fight.

Wolfeite shook off the last remnants of Stillwaterite's spell, rippling like a dog shaking off water. His golden gaze was narrowed at the senshi, though he was barely a few feet from her now, towering with his tail flicking back and forth dangerously behind him.

"How noble of you," he said loftily, and one of his ears flicked upwards. "Are you giving me a chance to surrender?"

The corrupt kept her hand held out between the two of them, despite the fact the General was just a scant few feet away. It was as much a threat she would cast her magic again, as a representation that he needed to stay put. She didn't trust this moment of calm at all. Not after he back handed her with little provocation.

He was unhinged.

"This isn't a war." She replied. "There's no need to surrender. I'm telling you to stop this foolishness. We're on the same side and all of that was unnecessary."

He had a strong urge to reach out and drag her to him just to watch her eyes dance with fright, just to sink his teeth into her skin and tear, just to thrust his hand into her chest and yank out the starseed that would be oh so delicious beneath the bones of her ribcage.

He did not. Instead, Wolfeite simply watched, and his tongue darted out, licking his lips. Both of his ears were now standing backupright on his head, though his hair was still as wild as ever, a tangled dark mess spilling over his shoulders in messy waves.

Maledictus thrummed. Wolfeite grinned, abruptly, and it was a sharp, dangerous thing, gleaming white in the dark.

"There is always," he said, "a war. It just depends on which one you're choosing to fight, little senshi."

There was no talking to a beast. Because that was all he was. He put off the front of some semblance of humanity at first, but in this short but violent encounter, she could see a scratch of what she was dealing with. It was unreal, and she was in disbelief that something like him could exist within the confines of the Negaverse.

At the level of General none the less. With the capability to oversee others. It was opening her eyes to something she hadn't seen before.

She didn't like the way he looked at her, and she definitely didn't like it when he grinned.

"None that you're apart of." She said after a moment. "So I'm leaving now."

Which was what she should have done right in the first place. Stillwaterite did not turn her back on him, but did start to step back to put distance between them. Once again, she should just be teleporting, but she needed him to acknowledge that she was going---that she wasn't going to flicker out of sight unannounced because that would speak cowardice---and she refused to give him that satisfaction.

He watched her, the manic, feral grin still sharp and still prominent on his face. It was a wild thing, a hungry thing that did not quite match up to a normal person's expression; something was splintering in it, shattering like glass, shards cracking across its surface.

This was too good. He would have fun with this.

One hand rose, clawed fingers held up. Maledictus padded over and stood beside her master, skeletal head bowed, a low growling emitted from somewhere inside of her chest. Both of them were looking at Stillwaterite, gleaming eyes in the darkness.

"Goodbye, little senshi," Wolfeite crooned. "I'll see you again soon."

He wasn't coming after her, and he wasn't stopping her. Good. She put some more distance between them, and eventually lowered her hand.

The both of them, just staring.

"Hopefully not." She replied honestly, and then, finally, blinked out of the area.

This was an encounter she was not going to repeat. Had no interesting in repeating, and would go out of her way to make sure it didn't happen again. That was that.
