Chie arrived with the two boys. Well, one boy and one puppet pretending to be a boy. She initially stood where Tetsuhiko was shot and looked around. She didn't recall hearing anything from the attack, so it had to be a distance. When Masato shouted what they were looking for, Chie's eyes veered over the distance. "It's up in the air what exactly could have done this. If I had to guess, however, then I'm going to assume it wasn't ninjutsu." Chie said fairly confidently. Ninjutsu was designed to affect the body, not the chakra network. That was more along the lines of genjutsu. There are certain exceptions, such as medical techniques or certain bloodlines, but the basis of ninjutsu is to affect the physical body. It was at least some sort of lead to go off of.
Chie angled her hands in the way which she recalled Tetsuhiko falling. He appeared to be shot from the back, which probably meant that the attacker hid along the tree lines ahead of their initial position. Chie walked over the water and came across the forested section. She moved meticulously through the trees as she observed every detail. Her eyes widened when she spotted something metal. "Tetsuhiko! Masato!" She shouted to get their attention. The young lady picked up some sort of launcher weapon. Its barrel was narrow and its ammunition gauge seemed fit for only one shot at a time. Chie inspected the round contraption in which the ammo was supposed to be slid into. What kind of round object could be fired and affect the chakra network in such an impacting way? Chie had a theory, but hoped that she was wrong.

__ Chie was proving herself to be incredibly useful in this endeavor. "How is this girl not a Jounin?" He thought and truthfully he would recommend her for it if asked. Tetsuhiko followed her lead as he gahered clues. He put his anger on a simmer for now to focus on finding the perpetrator. He approached Chie when called and examined the weapon that was abandoned. "I was in perfect range of a sniper because I was flying. They must've shown up here before then and set themselves up with this launcher before taking the perfect shot after Archie was defeated. Something tells me that they wanted Team Aqua gone as well." Tetsuhiko was more or less thinking out loud and formulated through this logically. "But what did they hit me with? And why would they leave the launcher behind?" He posed these questions to Chie and Masato, but mostly Chie.

Masato sighed, picking up the launcher and examining it. He had joined in hopes of some combat...but it seemed like investigative work was all he'd get for now. As he picked up the object, traces of glowing residue were seen with his sharingan upon the barrel launcher. " Yo. " He said, waving his hand to signal the group. " Theres a very...muddled chakra residue left inside...it's faint but..." he trailed off looking around. " I could probably identify whoever was carrying the ammunition if I saw them."

Chie nodded when Tetsuhiko commented about the shooting. This had all of the makings to be the perfect assassinafion. The question was why did the perpetrator drop the weapon? Masato came over and his words stunned Chie. She looked at him and noticed his sharingan. βAh. Kya-sensei also has those eyes.β She thought in reference to the crimson hues. The sharingan would definitely be able to pick out the chakra signature. They just needed to find them. βDespite the weapon being here, thereβs no evidence that the attacker will return.β Chie placed a hand under her chin. βNo. Our best bet is to try and lure the attacker out.β Chie looked strategically at the puppeteer. βIf we go to the most populated area and Tetsuhiko made a grand performance, Masato and I could blend into the crowd with some ninjutsu and wait for the target to appear. Once he get a scent of the chakra, we can then close in for the capture.β Chieβs Plan was a gamble. She recognized that there were ways it could fail. But unless someone had a better plan, it was the best shot they had.

__ Tetsuhiko's ears perked up at the prospect of drawing the perp out with a live performance. That was certainly a way for Tetsuhiko to let off steam and possibly hasten his revenge. "That's a marvelous idea! What if we go to Nekomichi? There's always a crowd there." That was Tetsuhiko's main recommendation for the location of a street performance.

The lean Taijutsu fighter stopped, turning his attention to the purposed plan of Chie, his eyes narrowed. He tactically saw the plan as sound to achieve their goal...but still. " There's no way of knowing how this person will react. We need to be sure we can restrain him should he target the villagers." Masato's eyes would fade to black once more, focused on the two. He wondered if the two would be able to perform such a feat. Masato had his methods for restraint and defending himself. He would have to be prepared to save lives if this went wrong.

From the school of Heaven San made her way to the Caldera Lake. It was her favorite place in the entirety of the village. This place was the fountainhead of Uzushiogakure but also the greatest reminder in her mind of what her people had once accomplished in the past. It was from here that all things within the village flowed and the volcano remained still. The lake was also a very peaceful place, one that would allow her to think clearly. Upon a quick scan of her surroundings she was quick to spot three individuals of particular note. One she knew rather well, the other two she knew by their files. What they were doing here at the lake she knew not. Though based on their serious faces she could only presume that it was not for pleasure. __ Tetsuhiko nodded to Masato, restraining the damage and potential harm to villagers was of paramount importance. As he looked around the area he moved his head and his jaw dropped when he saw Lady Sanae Uzumaki. He had never actually met her in person despite being a Jonin in her village for so long. Most of his missions simply involved her signing off on paperwork. The puppet man closed his eyes and opened them again to make sure that he was seeing her correctly before beelining towards her. He ran like the wind with a thundering voice. "LADY SANAAAAAE!" While it was true that Tetsuhiko has never met a stranger, he could not contain his excitement. "I'm Tetsuhiko Hanzo, the god of art and beauty, master puppeteer, and the greatest artist in the world!" He did a twirl and a curtsy and flipped his hair in a grand introduction as if he were on a stage. "Anything you've heard about me is probably true. Now, I must admit that I'm a huge fan of your calligraphy. Can I buy some from you for my house? You're one of the greatest ninja artists ever!" Tetsuhiko practically exploded in fanaticism on the village leader. "I can give you some bunraku puppets, paintings, sketches, recorded music, poems, paintings, sculptures, anything you want. Alas, my art collection is starved of fine calligraphy." He pressed his hand to his forehead and dramatically fainted before jumping back up again and awaiting her response.

Sumika entered the Caldera asleep on Cobalt the panda's back. Clearly she took the meditation thing a bit too far. The bear plodded its way down towards the lake, the shinobi on his back perched precariously, until he stopped next to the Uzukage and she finally slid off unceremoniously in the middle of Tetsuhiko's introduction. The young woman rolled over, bleary-eyed, and squinted against the light to identify the person towering over her. "Ayyyy, what's up big sis?" She asked as the noisy one finished, following with a comically big yawn and stretch without even bothering to pick herself up off the ground. "You need me to eject this groupie from the village, or..." She trailed off as her sea-green eyes drifted towards this new person she'd never met before. Last time she put Cobalt in charge of keeping her awake during chakra training. It looked like he'd almost made her late for a little tussle.

Chie nodded when Masato brought his concern. He had a point. They needed to figure out a way to isolate the potential threat. Chie was within thought when San appeared. The hokage uzushiokage seemed to be there for sightseeing. Chie was tempted to wave at the village leader, but Tetsuhiko rushes off like a looney tunes character. βWasnβt he just in a bloodlust rage?β She said nonchalantly to Masato. Seeing San, however, did give her one heck of an idea. Chie moved over to San and noticed that the satetsu girl from the demon ordeal was here as well. She seemed relaxed, which was nice. βLady Hokage.β She said with a formal bow about five feet from where the Lady camped out. βThereβs a threat within the village. With your blessing, I would like permission to recruit some genin to close off exits the moment the enemy emerges.β she requested. Chie knew that she at one point had their leaderβs respect. She hoped that she still had it.

βUpon exiting the Gully and going through the marketplace, Zane found himself at Caldera Lake. Of all the places in Uzushiogakure, he loved this the most. Memories of when he was younger flooded through him as he remembered his mother's embrace under the Cherry Blossoms back at their vacation estate in Kirigakure. The sight always seemed to relax him and put him at ease. For the most part, every time Zane visited the lake it was quite, serene, and peaceful. Unfortunately this was not the case today.
In the distance, Zane spotted several odd appearing shinobis gathered around the lake. He was half-tempted to turn around and walk the other way, but he really needed to get to the academy and report for his first assignment as a genin. He had already wasted some time by making a trip to the lake that turning around would mean he'd be late. Deciding on continuing, Zane began walking towards the rest of the ninja with the intent of just minding his own business and continuing along his way. βΊ

With quite an unexpected loudness one of the Shinobi she only knew by file approached San. With quite the over the top flamboyant introduction it was no wonder that Sumika, whom had managed to appear suddenly herself, asked if San wished him ejected. Funny as that sight may be, there would be no fighting in this place. "Yo," she replied to the man with a two finger salute before apparently catching her slip into her old ways. "Hello Tetsuhiko I don't know if you've met my runt of a sister Sumika?" She gestured to the short young woman next to her. They weren't sisters by birth but back during the Academy years San had sort of adopted the younger girl and even though they took very different paths in the shinobi world they were essentially as close as family. "I'd be happy to trade for a painting or two Testsuhiko yo." A trade was good, she no longer had need of money so it had been wise of him to offer some other goods in exchange for her calligraphy.
Chie appeared soon after. It was still surprising to San how much the girl had grown up. She still remembered her as a whiny argumentative teen. However it was hard to reconcile that with the much more mature and confident person that stood before her now. The title choice wasn't lost on her either. 'Damn it.' Chie thought as she realized too late that she referred to San as the Hokage and not the Uzukage. To her it didn't matter which title was used, as San was her leader no matter the village. However, she saw a moment of sorrow pass on San's face. Chie's eyes shifted away as she listened to her response. When Chie said that there were two ninjas, Chie looked around. She saw a boy heading away, and he didn't strike her as familiar so that was probably one of the genin which San referred to. Who was the other one? Her eyes widened when she looked down at Sumika. That seemed like a dangerous idea. Chie didn't have much experience with her, but she knew that when Chie once spoke back to San without knowledge of her title as the village head, Sumika asked San if she wanted her to take care of the issue. Considering that she just asked the same thing in regards to Tetsuhiko, Chie felt as though this girl was a bit of a loose cannon. But, if she was a genin, perhaps working with a squad would help her migrate to a more disciplined role. Chie nodded as she returned eye contact to the Uzukage.
"Yes Ma'am." She said diligently. Chie turned her head toward Tetsuhiko and sighed. Wasn't this whole ordeal because Tetsuhiko went crazy over the fact that someone messed with his chakra network and that he could no longer mold chakra with annoying music? Men are so fickle. She didn't bother to make him aware of her leaving. After all, he was already aware of the plan. Masato would know where to go as well, and neither one of them would act until she was there. "Alright Sumika. I am going to go to the academy to recruit one or two more genin. You can follow Pinocchio here and the Uchiha over there to the market. If you guys get there before I do, then figure out where to set up the performance, and map out how many exits there are to it." She said. Chie then turned away and exited toward the academy.

The puppet man's expression quickly changed when the adrenaline of meeting one of his favorite artists began to fade. The joy of art overwhelmed him even during his sustained fits of anger. It was as if he changed from a smiley comedy mask to a dismayed tragedy mask with the speed of his mood change. Now he would return to placing his entire focus on the mission once more as he listened to Chie talking. He almost forgot how that sniper wounded him and destroyed his ability to mold chakra through music. "An attack on my very essence!" He thought with ire more intense than fire as he remembered the task at hand, now was the time for vengeance! The Jounin would now run vigorously towards the Nekomichi market. "And with haste, we deliver retribution through beautiful performance!" He yelled as he led the mighty Masato and the sleepy Sumika.

"Y'all's funeral." Sumika said with a little laugh as she dragged herself back up onto her feet. None of her previous missions had ended well, and that included the expiration of multiple compatriots. It didn't really bother her these days, she was far too innately carefree to worry about people who got themselves in trouble. It was easier to make jokes anyways. "Hey, San, I finally got around to reverse engineering my little mechanical birds. I left one for you, at the office. It can only really go around the village, but it should fly where you want it." She mounted Cobalt again with an agility that suggested her clumsiness could have been nothing but an act, giving the Uzukage a cute little wave as she headed out.
